Chapter 130

But when she thought about the video of Lyanna being beaten and humiliated as a mistress, Victoria finally made up her mind.

Lyanna was only falsely accused, but Victoria was indeed the mistress.

Victoria's struggle vanished from her eyes with that thought.

She pressed her lips together and said firmly, "Yes."

William's grip on her body suddenly loosened. After a long silence, a faint, indifferent smile appeared on his lips.

"Alright, since you've made up your mind, I'll grant your wish!"

With that, he turned and walked towards the door.

A loud bang echoed as the door slammed shut.

Victoria stared blankly at the empty bedroom, a thin mist gradually clouding her vision.

He finally agreed to separate from her. She should be happy, right? But somehow, besides happiness, she felt a tinge of sadness.

Victoria couldn't sleep. Early in the morning, she got up and made some soup to take to Samuel at the hospital.

Samuel was still asleep.

The room was quiet, with only him inside.

Victoria gently pushed the door open and walked in, placing the thermos on the counter.

Hearing the noise, Samuel looked up.

When he saw her, his eyes lit up with surprise. "Victoria."

Victoria gave him a reassuring smile and walked to the bedside, speaking softly, "How are you feeling today?"

Samuel smiled and exaggeratedly said, "It hurts so much."

Victoria chuckled, "Stop pretending. It's not that bad."

She opened the thermos.

She poured out the chicken soup and handed it to him, speaking gently, "Have some soup to fill your stomach. We'll do the check-up after you eat."

"Alright!"

He laughed heartily, his smile bright and pure. Victoria, however, felt a faint ache in her heart.

She lowered her eyes, hiding the unusual look in them.

After he finished the soup, Victoria prepared to leave.

Samuel quickly grabbed her hand, "Victoria, tonight..."

Victoria saw his concern and held his hand in return, smiling, "Don't worry. I'll come see you after work. How could a girlfriend leave her boyfriend alone in the hospital?"

Samuel grinned, feeling warm inside, "Alright, I'll wait for you!"

After leaving the hospital, Victoria headed straight to Starry Studio Gallery.

Wendy saw her return and greeted her with a big hug, "Victoria, you're finally back! I missed you so much!"

Victoria smiled and hugged her back, handing her a gift, "I brought you a present. See if you like it."

Wendy's eyes sparkled with excitement as she quickly opened the box.

Inside was a beautiful, exquisite necklace with a unique pendant design, adorned with small pink diamonds that shimmered brightly.

Though not very expensive, it was unique and beautifully crafted.

Wendy loved it immediately, holding the necklace with delight, "Thank you, Victoria!"

Victoria was happy to see her friend pleased, "I'm glad you like it!"

Wendy put the necklace in her bag and pulled Victoria to the desk, speaking seriously, "Victoria, there's something I need to tell you."

"What is it?" Victoria asked, puzzled.

Wendy gritted her teeth, "While you were away, your mom and brother came looking for you almost every day."

Victoria's eyes widened. After the last dramatic scene at the hospital, she had given all the money in her account to Nora and blocked their contacts before leaving on a business trip.

She hadn't expected them to come to Starry Studio Gallery to cause trouble when they couldn't reach her.

Clearly, they were dissatisfied with the few thousand dollars and came to the gallery to demand more.

Victoria unconsciously grabbed Wendy's hand, "Are they still coming?"

Wendy winced in pain and pulled her hand back.

Victoria quickly apologized, "Sorry, Wendy, I didn't mean to hurt you."

She didn't know why she had hurt Wendy; she hadn't used much force.

"It's okay! It's not your fault." Wendy shook her head and continued, "Don't worry. I told your mom and brother that you were fired. They didn't believe it at first and came looking for you for over half a month. They didn't see you, so they finally believed it. They haven't come in the past few days. But you should still be prepared. They won't give up easily."

Victoria pressed her lips together, her hands clenched tightly.

They hadn't given up and still wanted to exploit her.

She thought for a moment and said, "Alright, I'll be careful."

After their conversation, Victoria was about to get some water when she noticed bruises on Wendy's wrist.

Remembering Wendy's earlier wince, Victoria's eyes narrowed. She quickly lifted Wendy's sleeve.

Sure enough, there were red and purple bruises all over her arm.

"What happened? Who did this?" Victoria frowned.

"It's nothing!" Wendy hurriedly pulled her sleeve back down, explaining, "I accidentally hit the wall! It's no big deal!"

Afraid Victoria might misunderstand, she added, "I'm really fine, Victoria. Don't worry."

Victoria's face turned cold, "That's impossible. Who are you trying to fool? These are clearly finger marks, not from hitting a wall. Who did this?"

Wendy's face turned pale instantly.

Seeing her friend's pale face, Victoria became more determined. She gritted her teeth, "Tell me who did this. I'll get revenge for you!"

She wouldn't allow anyone to bully her friend. She would fight to the end if necessary.

"Victoria, I'm really fine!" Wendy forced a bitter smile, which looked worse than crying, "Go to work. Don't waste too much time."

"You won't tell me?" Victoria took out her phone and dialed a few numbers, "If you don't tell me, I'll call the police!"

"No!" Wendy was terrified and quickly stopped Victoria, pleading, "Please don't call the police. I'll tell you!"

Victoria put her phone away, raising an eyebrow for her to continue.

"It was my mom!" Wendy murmured, lowering her head.

"Your mom? Your biological mom?" Victoria's eyes widened in shock. She hadn't expected it to be Wendy's mother.

Then she asked, "Why did she hit you?"

Wendy smiled bitterly, "Because she needs me to bring my father back home!"
