Chapter 139

William was fuming as he sped back into town, having dropped everything the moment he got the news. He'd completely forgotten Victoria's words about not wanting to see him again.

The whole way back, his anger at Victoria's naivety was only outdone by his hatred for Nora's selfishness. His loathing for Nora was even stronger than his desire to see Alvin punished by the law.

For Alvin, he just wanted legal justice, but for Nora, he was filled with murderous intent. He knew countless ways to make someone vanish without a trace, ensuring Nora would live the rest of her life in endless regret and pain.

He wouldn't let Nora hurt Victoria anymore.

Sensing his determination, Victoria clung to him tighter, her voice trembling with tears, "Please, don't go!"

William narrowed his bloodshot eyes and sneered, "You're so spineless, not fighting back. Are you just gonna let her keep hurting you?"

He impatiently tried to pry her hands off, but as he glanced down, he saw the needle marks on her arm. The sight of the wounds on her smooth skin ignited his fury even more.

"You're such an idiot, putting yourself through this for someone like her!" He forcefully shook off her hands and stormed out, slamming the door behind him.

"William!"

Victoria panicked and tried to follow, but she stumbled and fell, hitting her elbow on the corner of the table. The pain made her grimace, and sweat beaded on her forehead.

She pulled herself up using the bed for support and chased after him in her slippers.

Nora's room wasn't far.

As soon as she reached the hallway, she heard Nora's terrified screams.

She saw William dragging Nora by the neck like a ragdoll into the elevator.

Watching the elevator ascend to the top floor, Victoria's fear peaked.

Ignoring the pain in her knees, she ran up the stairs like a madwoman.

When she burst through the rooftop door, she saw William standing on the edge, pushing Nora over the railing.

Nora's face was ashen with fear, her hands gripping the metal frame desperately, her head hanging over the edge, ready to fall at any moment.

"Help!" Nora screamed, her voice hoarse with terror. "Please, let me go!"

Victoria, frantic, rushed to the edge and wrapped her arms around Nora's waist, locking her in place.

"What are you doing? William, stop this!"

William glanced at her coldly, his grip on Nora unrelenting. Nora dangled precariously, ready to drop at any second.

"This has nothing to do with you! Get back!" William's face was twisted with rage.

He no longer cared about the law or principles. To him, Nora was no better than a cockroach. How could someone so selfish and vile be worth Victoria sacrificing her health?

If it meant keeping Victoria safe, he would make Nora disappear.

He couldn't allow anything that threatened Victoria's life, including Nora.

Victoria gritted her teeth, stubbornly holding onto Nora. "William, pull her up! Are you out of your mind?"

William's eyes were bloodshot, and he barked, "Let go!"

"No!" Victoria's eyes reddened with desperation, her voice breaking. "William, I'm begging you. I'm scared, really scared."

She cried and pleaded, clinging to him like a drowning person grasping at a lifeline.

William stared at her face for a long time before finally loosening his grip.

Victoria, overjoyed, quickly pulled Nora back to safety.

Nora collapsed on the ground, gasping for breath, her voice trembling with fear. "William! I swear, I won't let this go. I'm calling the police. You'll go to jail!"

William looked down at her coldly, squatting beside her, and said slowly, "You can try. Let's see if I go to jail or if your precious son dies first."

Nora's body shook, her eyes wide with shock and fear. She knew William wasn't just making empty threats.

If she dared to call the police, William would definitely take her and Bobby out.

He was a man who meant what he said.

Nora's face twisted with hatred as she glared at William. "Fine, I give up!"

With that, she shakily crawled away from the rooftop.

Victoria sat on the ground, still trembling with fear.

William knelt beside her, pulling her into a tight embrace, as if trying to merge her with his body. "I'm sorry I scared you."

His warm breath brushed her ear, and Victoria's tense body gradually relaxed. She looked up, tears streaming down her face. "William, I'm not worth you risking yourself."

"You are worth it," he said, his voice hoarse, hiding a deep emotion.

Victoria stared at him, then suddenly hugged his neck tightly. "You scared me so much! I was so afraid you'd become a murderer because of me. I was so afraid you'd end up in jail like my dad."

"Who asked you to do this for me?" Victoria sobbed against his chest. "I don't want anything to happen to you. Do you understand?"

William's pupils contracted, swallowing her salty tears.

The wind blew across the rooftop, and Victoria felt as fragile as glass in his arms.

William's gaze changed, a fiery emotion welling up inside him, suppressed for too long, now bursting forth.

He held her close, his chin resting on her soft hair, gently caressing her pale cheek. "Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to me."

Victoria looked at him, stunned.

William cupped her face and kissed her deeply.

She closed her eyes, wrapping her arms around his waist, responding to his kiss.

They kissed passionately, neither willing to let go, until the door opened.

Harry saw the scene on the rooftop, paused, and quickly retreated.

William noticed Victoria's bare feet and sighed, picking her up and carrying her back to the room.

As he walked, he gently reminded her, "Listen to me, give up the idea of donating your kidney to her, okay?"
