Chapter 161
Victoria's eyes were sharp as she glared at Nora. "Hand it over!"
The more desperate Victoria got, the more suspicious Nora became. Her face showed increasing panic. "Are you planning to leave this family? Are you going to abandon me?"
Once this thought crossed her mind, Nora became frantic.
She knew how much Alvin adored Victoria. She had just managed to move back in, and if Victoria left, wouldn't Alvin leave too?
Suddenly, she turned and bolted for the door. "Without this, let's see where you can go!"
"Give it to me!" Victoria, both angry and anxious, hurried after her to snatch back the passport.
Nora, already frail, hadn't even reached the door before she clutched her chest, gasping for breath.
Seeing Victoria coming to grab it, she clung to the passport tightly. "No, I won't give it to you!"
Not only that, she pushed Victoria hard. "I'm telling you, no matter where you go, you can't shake me off!"
Victoria stumbled back a few steps and fell to the ground.
Suddenly, the door was kicked open!
William appeared in the doorway.
Seeing someone enter, Nora quickly scrambled up from the floor.
William, with a dark expression, strode towards her.
"Ah! You..." Nora, terrified of William, dropped the passport and ran to a corner, hiding behind the curtains, trembling.
William bent down, picked up the passport, dusted it off, and handed it to Victoria.
Victoria took it and stuffed it into her bag, quickly heading for the door. "Let's go!"
William said nothing, turned, and left.
It wasn't until she heard the car outside that Nora dared to come out.
She slowly walked to the door, suspiciously watching the direction they left.
Where were they going?
Leaving in such a hurry, and with passports?
Suddenly, Nora's eyes widened. Were they eloping?
The car sped down the road.
When they arrived at the airport, Harry was already there, handing William his passport and ticket. "Mr. Scott, everything is arranged."
"Good." William took them without looking and handed them to Victoria.
Victoria instinctively caught them and checked the ticket. It was for the next available flight.
He walked ahead, and Victoria quickly followed, asking Harry, "Why are there only two tickets? Aren't you coming?"
"I need to stay and handle some matters at the company. I'll join you later."
Victoria nodded slightly.
But she couldn't help feeling a bit uneasy. So, they would be spending all their time together?
Before boarding, Victoria went to a corner and called Wendy, giving her some work instructions.
Then she called Samuel.
"Xandria? That's too dangerous! I don't feel comfortable with you going alone! But I can't leave right now. Can you wait for a day? I'll go with you tomorrow."
"Samuel, I'm not going alone." Victoria hesitated but felt there was no need to hide it. "I'm going with William. His aunt and my father are involved."
She looked up, seeing William standing a respectful distance away, not too close to invade her privacy but not too far either.
Many people around were looking at him, and some girls were secretly taking pictures with their phones.
On the other end, Samuel was silent for a moment before saying, "I understand."
Victoria slowly turned around, holding her phone, and said softly, "Samuel, don't overthink it. We're just traveling together for the same purpose."
"Are you worried I'll be upset?"
"Yeah," Victoria admitted. "You're my boyfriend now. I have to consider your feelings in everything I do."
Samuel chuckled. "Don't worry about me. I won't overthink it. Just take care of yourself. Once I get permission from the school, I'll come find you."
"Okay."
In the bustling airport lounge, people hurried by.
Victoria stood by the large window, staring blankly at the planes taking off and landing, clutching her ticket so tightly her fingers turned white.
William watched her, frowning, wanting to say something but stopping himself. Finally, he just sighed softly.
The boarding announcement came over the speakers. Victoria took a deep breath and walked towards the gate, with William following closely behind.
They hadn't spoken much since the initial exchange, and the atmosphere was cold and distant.
In the first-class cabin, the spacious and comfortable environment and the attentive service did nothing to improve Victoria's mood.
When she saw the two adjacent seats, she stopped abruptly, not wanting to sit too close to William.
She bit her lip and decisively approached a busy flight attendant, softly asking, "Excuse me, could I change my seat?"
The flight attendant smiled professionally and quickly made the arrangements.
William watched her with a blank expression, his eyes darkening.
He looked at her profile for a long time before looking away and sitting in his seat.
Victoria sat in her new seat by the window, looking out at the blue sky. But her mind was filled with worry, fear, and anxiety, leaving no room to appreciate the view.
Alvin had just come back to her. What would she do if something happened to him?
The thought made her shiver, her head spinning as if the whole world was turning upside down.
She closed her eyes, forcing herself to calm down and not jump to conclusions.
But her red-rimmed eyes and trembling hands betrayed her true emotions.
William noticed every detail.
In that moment, he wanted to go over and hold her, to comfort her.
But she hated him so much now, she wouldn't accept his kindness.
William smiled bitterly and lowered his eyes.
After a while, there was movement in the seat next to Victoria.
She turned instinctively and saw a strikingly handsome man.
The man was tall and well-built, with sun-kissed skin exuding a wild charm, as if he carried the scent of sunshine and the wilderness.
His chiseled features looked like they had been meticulously sculpted, with sharp eyebrows, a high nose, and slightly upturned lips that hinted at a rebellious streak.
A silver earring in his left ear glinted coldly, and a faint scar on his brow added a touch of mystery and danger to his allure.
As soon as he sat down, his gaze fell on Victoria, a flash of admiration in his eyes.
Victoria, in a hurry, had only changed out of her work clothes into a beige dress that perfectly outlined her graceful curves.
Her smooth hair fell over her shoulders, and her clear skin, paired with her elegant attire, made her look even more delicate and radiant.
She was already beautiful, but with tears in her eyes, she looked even more pitiful and heart-wrenching.
The man raised an eyebrow, looking at her with interest, his deep voice resonating. "Miss, do you need any help?"
