Chapter 206
He was just stating the obvious. After all, Victoria was completely wasted, and if she passed out on the street, could anyone else be as understanding as he was?
However, Alice felt utterly humiliated by his words, and her smile turned increasingly bitter.
"Are you worried I can't take care of Ms. Carter? Seems like you really care about her. You never treated me like this when we were together. Forget it, I shouldn't have said anything."
Seeing her look so hurt and disappointed, William hesitated slightly and softened his tone. "I mean, you're not strong enough to handle someone who's drunk. It might be too much for you."
"Who says I'm drunk?" Victoria, leaning on his shoulder, suddenly lifted her head and tried to open her eyes wide to prove she was perfectly sober.
Victoria tried to focus on the people around her, but her mind was a mess.
She squinted and finally recognized Alice. Pointing a finger at her, she mumbled warily, "I remember her. She's scary... She always scares me."
William raised an eyebrow slightly, his deep eyes narrowing as he slowly turned to look at Alice.
Alice was stunned, then became furious, her voice rising. "Ms. Carter! What nonsense are you talking about? When have I ever scared you? Just because you're drunk doesn't mean you can spout nonsense and cause trouble!"
Victoria let out a light hum. "You had someone pull Lyanna's clothes in public just because she went to Harborview City with William."
"That's slander!"
"And you said you'd skin me alive," Victoria continued.
"You!"
Alice was practically fuming. "That's a complete lie! When did I ever say that?"
"You did. You were so fierce! I know any woman who gets close to this guy ends up badly." Victoria's slender finger pointed at William's handsome face, poking it repeatedly. "Now you know! I'm scared. I need to stay far away from you so I won't get stripped in the street."
Victoria couldn't tell if this was reality or her imagination, but she poured out everything in her heart, mixing truth and lies.
William was silent for a moment, then thoughtfully said, "So, you want to stay away from me because you're afraid someone will cause you trouble?"
Alice was on the verge of breaking down. "William! You can't seriously believe her nonsense, can you?"
Such childish and ridiculous accusations, like a kid tattling, and he believed it?
William lifted his deep eyes, looking at her with determination. "She doesn't lie."
"You mean she doesn't lie, but I do?" Alice stared at him in disbelief. "In your eyes, I'm the kind of woman she says I am? Is that how you see me?"
Victoria felt the noise around her was overwhelming. She hiccuped and leaned against William's chest, frowning as she continued her accusations. "You are! You are! Let me tell you, you can't do that again. You'll just scare all the men away, just like my mom, Nora."
"Shut up!" Alice was trembling with anger, but considering the situation, she forced herself to lower her voice.
But her scolding of Victoria only made William more displeased. He suppressed his anger. "She's not someone you can yell at."
It wasn't a warning, just a calm statement.
Hearing this, Victoria immediately grabbed his collar, pulling his head down to whisper in his ear, "Don't provoke her. She might retaliate against you later!"
He raised an eyebrow slightly, mimicking her, and whispered in her ear, "She wouldn't dare."
"Okay." Victoria nodded as if she understood, looking like she had learned a lesson.
They were so wrapped up in each other that they completely ignored Alice!
Alice knew William was just placating Victoria and might not truly believe what she said.
But he didn't care about her feelings at all!
"I'm leaving. Harry will take you home later." William said this indifferently, then helped Victoria into the car, got in himself, started the engine, and drove away.
Alice stood there in a daze, watching the car disappear into the distance, her heart feeling like it was being torn apart.
The black Rolls-Royce drove steadily down the road.
Victoria was half-lying in the seat, her beautiful face flushed with a dreamy red, clearly still drunk.
She rubbed her forehead, her eyes hazy as she looked out the window, mumbling, "So thirsty, so hot."
William remembered the last time in the rental apartment when she was just as enticingly drunk.
He couldn't help but swallow, feeling all the blood in his body rushing to one place, a wave of heat rising from his lower abdomen.
His breathing became a bit erratic, his deep eyes growing darker and more intense. He pressed his lips together and pulled over onto a side road.
He took a blanket from the back seat and covered her, then opened a bottle of water and brought it to her lips.
Victoria instinctively tilted her head back and drank a few gulps, but she drank too quickly and started coughing, tears welling up in her eyes.
William sighed helplessly, pulling her into his arms and patting her back firmly.
Victoria finally stopped coughing, her small face buried in his chest, gasping for breath.
The spilled water soaked a large part of the fabric on her chest, faintly revealing her nipples.
Victoria blinked her clear, watery eyes, looking up at him in a daze.
William's heart raced as he looked at her luscious red lips.
He couldn't hold back any longer and leaned down to kiss her lips.
The soft, warm sensation made Victoria instinctively close her eyes, letting his tongue pry open her teeth and ravage her sweet mouth.
The smell of alcohol mixed with her unique scent lingered in his nose, making him lose himself.
Victoria let out a soft moan, instinctively wrapping her arms around his waist, responding to his kiss.
Her reaction made William even more excited. He tightened his arms around her, wanting to merge with her completely, never to be separated.
Victoria felt dizzy, her body growing weaker, her arms clinging to his neck.
His lips touched her warm skin, igniting a fire wherever they met. Victoria's body trembled more violently, holding him tightly, her waist writhing restlessly.
But this contact only made her crave more, the primal desire almost pulling her into an abyss.
William also noticed her increasingly urgent movements. His large hand reached down between them, feeling her soaking wet panties.
William took a deep breath, turned her over to lie on the seat back, and removed her panties, looking at the fluid between her legs. His throat tightened, and he swallowed hard.
