Chapter 57

"Congratulations, Mr. Scott. Best wishes to you both," she said indifferently, her tone flat.

William squinted slightly, "What, aren't you even a bit jealous?"

"Jealous? Why?" Victoria retorted.

What right did she have to be jealous, especially because of him?

A mocking smile appeared on William's lips, "You really are carefree."

"Thank you for the compliment," she replied neither humbly nor arrogantly.

"In that case, you won't refuse to be Ella's bridesmaid, will you?" William raised an eyebrow.

Victoria was stunned for a second, then angrily said, "She's crazy, but I'm not! Do I look like a foolishly over-kind person? She's harmed me so many times, and she still wants me to be her bridesmaid! Not a chance!"

She knew exactly what Ella was thinking.

She just wanted to use the wedding to humiliate her.

William laughed, "Do you think you have the right to refuse?"

Victoria pressed her lips together and said nothing.

"The wedding is next week. I'll send someone to pick you up for the bridesmaid dress fitting tomorrow," William continued.

After he finished speaking, he stepped on the gas, and the car drove out of Victoria's sight, leaving only a trail of exhaust.

Victoria sat there for a long time before coming back to her senses, looking at the wedding invitation in her hand, feeling a mix of emotions.

The next morning, William indeed sent Harry to pick her up.

In the car, Harry hesitated, finally unable to hold back, "Ms. Carter, you and Mr. Scott..."

"Call me Victoria!" Victoria interrupted him indifferently.

Harry hesitated for a moment, "Victoria, actually Mr. Scott still cares about you."

"Cares? Does he have the time to care about me?" Victoria sneered.

"When you were locked in the basement by Ms. Garcia, it was Mr. Scott who found you first and took you to the hospital."

"He saved me, but I haven't forgotten how I ended up in that situation. Harry, you should know better than anyone what I've been through because of William."

Victoria looked coldly out the window, "I just hope that after he gets married, the two of them won't bother me anymore!"

Harry sighed and tried to comfort her, "Victoria, you have every right to be angry. If it were my sister, I'd probably want to fight them too. But Mr. Scott is also quite pitiful; his parents died years ago..."

"Enough," Victoria coldly interrupted him, not wanting to hear about William, "I know his parents died early, but what does his pitiful situation have to do with me? Just because he lost his parents, does that give him the right to bully me?"

"Victoria..." Harry took a deep breath, wanting to say more.

But they had already arrived at the bridal shop.

Victoria opened the car door and got out, walking towards the bridal shop without looking back.

This bridal shop was the best in Silvermist City, featuring top luxury brands from around the world, worth a fortune.

Victoria stood in front of the display window, lost in thought.

Inside the window were various exquisite and beautiful wedding dresses.

There were traditional ones, innovative designs, and more.

Victoria's gaze swept over the beautiful wedding dresses one by one, but she felt nothing.

At this moment, a female sales assistant approached and asked kindly, "Miss, you are so beautiful, you would look good in any wedding dress. Would you like me to recommend one for you?"

Victoria shook her head and said indifferently, "I'm not here to buy a wedding dress; I'm here to try on a bridesmaid dress. Where is Ms. Garcia?"

"Please follow me," she led Victoria upstairs.

Victoria walked into the VIP room, her expression slightly stunned.

Inside the room, Ella and William were sitting closely on the sofa, chatting.

In front of them were a dozen luxurious wedding dresses, each worth a fortune.

Ella was choosing styles while discussing with William, "William, what do you think of this one?"

William glanced at it and nodded, "It's nice."

"What about this one?"

"It's fine too."

Ella was a bit unhappy, pouting and complaining coquettishly, "William, you're always so perfunctory. You didn't even look closely."

William affectionately tapped her playful nose, "Alright, I'll look carefully. How about this one?"

Ella smiled contentedly, "Okay, I'll try it on."

She was about to ask the assistant to take it down for her to try when she turned and saw Victoria standing in front of her.

She froze for a moment, then snorted disdainfully, "You actually came."

Victoria glanced at her expressionlessly and said coldly, "Didn't you ask me to be your bridesmaid? Ms. Garcia, if you're unhappy, I can leave right now."

"You!" Ella glared at Victoria angrily.

The reason she asked Victoria to be her bridesmaid was to make this bitch see her place.

Ella was the rightful Mrs. Scott of the Scott family, William's legitimate wife.

And Victoria was just a lowly mistress.

She was about to lose her temper when William stopped her, "Ella, our big day is coming up. Why get upset over someone irrelevant?"

"William, you spoil her too much; that's why she's so arrogant."

"Alright, go try it on," William urged, then imperceptibly cast a quick look at Victoria.

Although Ella was unhappy, she followed William's instructions and went into the fitting room.

Victoria didn't even look at William, casually finding a corner to sit down.

In no time, Ella came out of the fitting room wearing a beige lace strapless wedding dress.

William's eyes lit up, and he couldn't help but praise, "Not bad, it suits you well."

He wasn't just being polite; he genuinely thought the dress suited Ella. Her wheat-colored skin, combined with the strapless and backless design, made her skin look even more radiant.

Ella was very confident in her figure. Hearing William's praise, she proudly glanced at Victoria and said modestly, "Thank you, William. Now wait for me; I'll go try on the bridal makeup."

Before leaving, she told the assistant, "Pick out a few bridesmaid dresses for Ms. Carter. Remember, Ms. Carter is very conservative, so don't make them too revealing."

As she spoke, she deliberately glanced at Victoria's chest with a malicious look.

Victoria clenched her fists, barely restraining her anger from tearing Ella's hateful face apart.

Ella then strutted off to the makeup room in her dress.

The assistant brought a few bridesmaid dresses for Victoria and then went about her business.

Victoria took the dresses and went into the fitting room, changing into one of the bridesmaid dresses.

As she tied the belt of the bridesmaid dress, a pair of long, straight legs suddenly appeared in the mirror.

Victoria was startled and turned around abruptly, only to meet William's amused gaze.
