Chapter 59

William's expression suddenly turned cold, and his gaze became frighteningly icy.

Victoria asked in surprise, "Samuel, what are you doing here?"

Samuel's gaze swept over William and landed on Victoria's face.

With a faint smile, he said, "I have shares in this bridal shop. I heard you were trying on bridesmaid dresses, so I came to take a look."

A mocking smile appeared on William's lips as he coldly questioned, "Mr. Brown, a college professor, seems to have quite a big business."

Samuel smiled and said, "It's nothing much, just some small-scale businesses, nothing compared to the Scott family's vast empire."

William glanced at Victoria mockingly and said nonchalantly, "Mr. Brown is really modest."

Samuel couldn't be bothered to argue with him and turned to Victoria, speaking gently, "Victoria, get in the car, I'll take you home."

William's face grew even darker.

Victoria looked at William, then at Samuel, and finally got into Samuel's car.

William watched them leave, his face as dark as a stormy sky, exuding a terrifying gloom.

Harry drove over to pick him up.

William took out a cigarette from his pocket, lit it, took a deep drag, and exhaled the smoke.

He leaned back in his seat, squinting his eyes as he gazed into the distance.

After a while, he extinguished the cigarette and casually asked, "That Samuel is he from the Brown family in Prosperity City?"

Harry nodded, recalling, "Yes, he's the eldest son of the Brown family. The Brown family is one of the top wealthy families in Prosperity City."

William sneered, "Victoria sure knows how to hook up with the right kind of men."

Harry didn't say anything, just sighed silently.

The car drove steadily on the road.

Victoria sat in the passenger seat, staring out the window at the passing buildings, her expression dazed.

"Why aren't you talking?" Samuel turned his head, looking at her gently.

Victoria snapped out of her daze and smiled apologetically, "I'm a bit tired today."

Samuel nodded, "Why did you agree to be a bridesmaid for someone who hurt you?"

"It's actually a good thing," Victoria thought for a moment and said, "This way, my improper relationship with William will be completely over."

So this was Ella's real intention, to drag her, the hidden mistress, into the light, exposing her to everyone, leaving her with nowhere to hide.

Samuel didn't say anything, just tightened his grip on the steering wheel slightly.

Victoria smiled bitterly and continued, "Samuel, you probably know about the entanglement between William and me, right?"

Samuel was slightly stunned. Of course, he knew. He had investigated thoroughly and didn't care at all.

He just never mentioned it to protect Victoria's dignity.

Victoria lowered her eyes and said softly, "I did sell myself to William for money..."

"Victoria," Samuel interrupted her, "Don't overthink it."

Victoria pressed her lips together and looked up at him.

Samuel's face had a gentle smile, as if it could dispel the darkness of the world.

"I probably know more about what happened between you and him than you do, so you don't have to worry that I'll look down on you."

"Samuel."

Victoria was somewhat moved.

Samuel continued to smile, "Victoria, you were never the one at fault, so you don't need to feel guilty or blame yourself!"

Samuel's words struck a chord in Victoria's heart, and she smiled gratefully at him.

"Thank you."

Samuel parked the car by the roadside, touched her soft hair, and said with a full smile, "I just want you to be happy."

"Okay." Victoria nodded, tears streaming down her face.

Samuel reached out to wipe the tears from her cheeks and comforted her, "Don't cry, Victoria, you're the best girl."

Victoria nodded and smiled through her tears.

Seeing her smile, Samuel felt a stir in his heart, and his long-dormant desire began to awaken.

He couldn't help but gently stroke Victoria's delicate skin, causing a tingling sensation.

"Victoria." Samuel's deep, sexy voice sounded in her ear, his warm breath on her neck making her shiver involuntarily.

His warm palm brushed against her skin, leaving a trail of heat that seemed to radiate from a fireplace, spreading warmth throughout her body.

This unfamiliar yet familiar tingling sensation made Victoria's heart race.

She stiffly twisted her body, her eyes looking at Samuel in confusion, not understanding his intentions.

"Victoria."

Samuel leaned in close, his cool lips lightly brushing hers in a fleeting kiss.

Victoria froze, her mind blank!

Samuel actually kissed her!

Samuel withdrew his hand, his deep eyes gazing at her flushed, shy face, his voice hoarse and low, "Victoria, I always lose control in front of you."

Victoria, flustered, avoided his intense gaze and pushed him away, saying, "Samuel, I, I don't feel well, can you take me home quickly?"

Samuel looked at her flustered appearance and couldn't help but chuckle, "Alright, I'll take you home right away."

Victoria nodded.

The car soon arrived at its destination.

Samuel unbuckled her seatbelt and reminded her, "Get some rest and don't overthink things."

Victoria nodded, got out of the car, and closed the door.

After Samuel's car left, Victoria stood there for a long time.

Soon, it was William and Ella's wedding day.

Victoria hadn't slept well all night, her stomach burning, and her colitis flared up.

She endured the waves of pain and got into the car William sent to pick her up.

The wedding was held at a resort hotel in the suburbs.

The entire hotel was decorated for the wedding today.

The wedding setup was dreamy and romantic, clearly costing a fortune.

Victoria entered the bride's dressing room. Ella was having her makeup done while chatting and laughing with the other bridesmaids.

Ella looked radiant and full of joy, completely like a new bride.

Seeing Victoria in her bridesmaid dress, the others stopped talking and looked at her with disdain.

They were familiar with Ella and knew about Victoria's relationship with the groom, William.

Naturally, they didn't show her any kindness.

Victoria didn't mind and found a corner to stay quietly, enduring her stomach discomfort.

At that moment, someone else entered.

The newcomer was in her thirties, tall and slim, wearing a black fitted suit that accentuated her curves.

Ella greeted her with a smile, "Daisy, you're finally here!"

Her attitude was very enthusiastic, even fawning.

Hearing the voice, Victoria opened her eyes and saw the newcomer, stunned for a moment.

This woman, she seemed to have seen her before.
