Chapter 61

William gasped in pain, reaching out his left hand to block Daisy from grabbing his arm. "What nonsense are you talking about? When did I ever bully her?"

"Still denying it!" Daisy glared at him. "Your fiancée told me everything. She even exaggerated, describing Victoria as a gold-digger who clings to the rich and powerful. Does she think I'm as stupid as her and have no discernment at all?"

William's brows furrowed tightly, his face turning ashen.

He looked in Victoria's direction and saw her pale face, with beads of sweat on her forehead, seemingly frightened. A surge of irritation and anger rose in his heart.

He knew Ella was foolish, but he didn't expect her to be this foolish.

She even dared to tattle to Daisy.

Didn't she consider that Daisy, having been in the business world for so long, had encountered all kinds of people? How could she not see through her?

And she still foolishly thought she could use her eloquence to distort the truth?

How utterly stupid.

If it weren't for Alice...

Thinking of this, William sighed and patiently explained to Daisy, "Aunt Daisy, I neither hit her nor scolded her. How did I bully her? Just because her father..."

"Shut up!" Daisy glanced at Victoria and interrupted William. "Even if her father committed a crime, the law has already punished him. Do you want her to bear the consequences as well? You just find her pretty and are lusting after her. Don't give me so many excuses."

William helplessly rubbed his brow and sighed, "Aunt Daisy."

He wanted to say something to calm the furious Daisy.

Just then, Harry pushed the door open and, seeing the scene before him, paused for a moment before saying, "Mr. Scott, the bride is ready, and the officiant and guests have almost all arrived."

William responded, "Okay."

Then, Daisy let go of him, smoothed out her clothes as if there were wrinkles, gave him a cold look, and snorted, "Victoria will stay with me today. She won't be your bridesmaid anymore. You have so many bridesmaids; you won't miss one."

Hearing this, William frowned, his gaze falling on Victoria, remaining silent.

Daisy, pulling Victoria protectively, gave William a warning look before leading the pale Victoria out of the room and towards the lawn.

William watched their backs disappear from sight before turning to follow them out.

When Ella learned that Victoria had been taken away by Daisy and could no longer be her bridesmaid, she was not angry but extremely happy.

She thought Daisy disliked Victoria and had deliberately taken her away, which suited her perfectly.

Ella, fully dressed, lifted her skirt and walked down the red carpet, swaying her slender waist.

Her cheeks were flushed, looking stunningly beautiful, with a face full of happiness and joy.

She caught a glimpse of William coming out of the lounge and gave him a charming smile, calling out sweetly, "William."

Hearing her soft and seductive voice, William nodded expressionlessly.

Ella was already used to his hot-and-cold attitude and approached him, taking his arm as they walked towards the stage.

The wedding was held on the lawn, decorated with roses flown in from abroad, making it both romantic and luxurious.

Petals fell like rain, filling the air with a rich floral fragrance.

With flowers paving the way, William and Ella walked down the aisle, drawing everyone's attention.

By this time, the guests were already seated, most of them prominent figures from Silvermist City, along with some celebrities from the entertainment industry.

At William and Ella's wedding, only Daisy from the Scott family attended.

Most of the Scott family's influence was in Harborview City. William's grandfather was old and in poor health, so William didn't want to tire him out. He planned to visit him with Ella after the wedding.

As for Wayne's family, they mostly stayed abroad since William's parents died, only returning for holidays.

In essence, the Garcia family wasn't significant enough for them to pay much attention.

And William himself had no real affection for Ella, so he didn't give her much face.

Even if the Garcia family knew Ella was being slighted, they couldn't say much.

Victoria sat in the audience, her abdominal pain from enteritis causing her to break out in a cold sweat, forcing her to lean on Daisy's shoulder.

Daisy, feeling Victoria's body growing weaker, looked at her worriedly and asked softly, "Victoria, are you okay?"

Victoria shook her head.

Daisy touched her pale face, "Do you want me to take you to the hospital?"

"No, no need," Victoria refused, looking up at Daisy. "The wedding is about to start. It's not good to leave now."

If she left early, Ella might overthink it and cause trouble.

More importantly, she wanted to see William put the wedding ring on Ella with her own eyes. That way, she could completely let go of her hidden feelings.

William stood on the stage, his deep eyes scanning the surroundings before finally resting on Victoria in the corner.

Seeing her leaning on Daisy, looking uncomfortable, he couldn't help but curl his lips.

So, Victoria wasn't completely emotionless after all?

At least she felt bad seeing him get married.

After the wedding, he would go and comfort her.

William lowered his gaze and slowly looked away.

Ella, seeing William smile at Victoria, felt a pang of jealousy.

But at this moment, she knew to maintain her composure.

Despite her anger, she kept a gentle and graceful smile on her face.

"Please exchange rings, bride and groom!" The officiant's clear voice drew everyone's attention to William and Ella.

Ella, smiling brightly, extended her right hand to William.

William picked up a diamond ring and was about to put it on her when a distinctive phone ringtone sounded.

His movements suddenly halted. Ignoring Ella's displeased expression and the murmurs from the audience, he took out his phone and answered it.

Ella only heard a familiar voice from his phone. "William, I'm back."

Ella's pupils contracted, and her fingers clutching her wedding dress lost their color.

William's face also changed, and he jumped off the stage, discarding the groom's boutonniere as he quickly left.

"William!" Ella shouted, trying to make him stay, but before she could finish, William had already turned the corner and disappeared from her sight.

Ella stood frozen, watching William's departing figure. Her mind felt like it exploded, her vision darkened, and she fainted on the stage.

The voice on the phone just now was her sister Alice's.
