Chapter 62
William's sudden departure caused a commotion among the audience, and the Garcia family was even more panicked, busy helping the unconscious Ella while calling the fleeing William, hoping he would come back quickly.
The other guests were even more talkative, with all kinds of speculations emerging.
"What happened?"
"Why did Mr. Scott leave suddenly? Could something have happened?"
"Who knows, maybe he ran away from the wedding?"
Daisy didn't expect such a change either, her face darkened as she looked at the chaotic wedding scene.
This William, still so unruly, dared to run away from the wedding at the last minute!
The Scott family's face has been completely lost by him!
Victoria also didn't expect William to leave suddenly.
She was stunned for a moment, then lowered her head and covered her stomach, the pain intensifying, making her groan a few times.
Daisy noticed Victoria's abnormality and quickly reached out to support her, nervously shouting, "Victoria, are you okay?"
Victoria gritted her teeth to endure the pain and shook her head at Daisy, "I'm fine, don't worry."
Daisy frowned, "You look terrible."
Victoria pressed her lips together without speaking, just feeling the pain getting worse, with fine beads of sweat appearing on her forehead.
Seeing her face getting paler, Daisy knew she couldn't delay any longer and immediately helped her up, "Let's go, I'll take you to the hospital."
Victoria was in so much pain that she couldn't speak, barely following Daisy out.
Along the way, they encountered many guests, but Daisy was in a hurry to take Victoria to the hospital and didn't bother to greet anyone, just kept supporting Victoria and hurriedly left.
William arrived at the airport, searching for that familiar figure among the bustling crowd.
Finally, in the lounge area, he spotted the person he had been longing for.
She was quietly curled up on a seat, looking at the passing crowd, her delicate face pale and bloodless, with long, thick eyelashes covering her eyes.
William felt a sharp pain in his chest, as if a blunt object had shattered his heart.
His feet felt like they were filled with lead, unable to move a step, just staring fixedly at that slender figure.
What happened to her? Why is she so weak? Is she sick?
His heart ached with pain.
Had she not been doing well abroad these past few years?
William approached her step by step, each step taken very slowly, as if it took all his courage.
Sensing someone approaching, Alice turned her head, and the first thing she saw was the well-dressed, handsome William.
"William!" Alice slightly parted her lips, revealing a sweet smile.
Her voice was soft and sweet, like a small brush gently scratching William's heart, making him feel a tingling sensation all over; he wished he could offer her the best things in the world just to see her smile.
William clenched his fists, trying to suppress the emotions surging in his heart, his gaze burning as he stared at her.
Looking at the tall William in front of her, Alice's cheeks turned red, and she shyly called out, "William, I'm back!"
"Welcome home." Seeing her smile, William felt his heart melt, just like years ago when she waited for him at the school gate to go home together.
Her smile was always as gentle and intoxicating as the spring breeze in March, making him unable to resist.
He thought of the days he spent with her, how she always loved to stick by his side and talk, like a little butterfly fluttering around his ears, infusing his dull life with new energy.
Those memories were so distant, so distant that he had forgotten how much he missed that time.
If it weren't for him back then, she wouldn't have suffered from kidney failure due to excessive drinking and wouldn't have left him.
William bent down and hugged Alice, his voice hoarse as he spoke, "Do you know how much I missed you?"
These words were like a sweet and mellow spring, flowing through Alice's heart, warming her entire being.
Alice's mouth curved into a happy, sweet smile, obediently nestling in his arms, softly responding, "I know."
"Then why didn't you come back earlier?" William lowered his head, staring at her intently.
"After all, we promised Ella back then." Alice was stunned for a moment, then raised her head, blinking her clear, bright eyes, and pouted aggrievedly, "But when I heard you were really going to marry her, I couldn't stand it! So I found a way to escape from the bodyguards watching me and came back. Look, I even sprained my foot."
She lifted her swollen left foot to show him, her bright, beautiful eyes filled with tears, looking at him pitifully, making him feel a surge of pity.
"I'm sorry, I misunderstood you." William's tone softened, as gentle as a feather brushing against the skin, "I'll take you to the hospital for a check-up now, okay?"
Alice nodded obediently, her eyes moist, "Okay."
William picked her up and walked to the parking lot, got into the Maybach, and sped towards the hospital.
Daisy had just arrived at the hospital with Victoria when they ran into the anxious Samuel.
Victoria was surprised to see him and asked, "Samuel, why are you here?"
Samuel looked at her pale face and said with concern, "Our bridal shop needs to keep following up with big clients and provide ongoing makeup services. The makeup artist told me you were being helped out of the venue, looking like you were sick, so I came to the nearest hospital to try my luck. What's wrong with you?"
"I just ate something bad, it's not a big deal." Victoria smiled bitterly; seeing Daisy looking at Samuel, she introduced, "Ms. Scott, this is Samuel Brown, my friend."
Samuel politely nodded to her and followed Victoria's address, "Ms. Scott, hello."
Daisy saw that although Samuel seemed much older than Victoria, he exuded an extraordinary and elegant aura, clearly not an ordinary person.
She nodded in satisfaction, thinking Samuel was much better than the unruly William.
That bastard William, if he continues to be so stubborn, he will regret it in the future.
And if that happens, it will be his own fault!
Seeing Victoria in so much pain, Samuel didn't bother with pleasantries and immediately carried her to the emergency room.
The doctor gave her a thorough examination and finally told Victoria that it was nothing serious, just a bit of gastroenteritis, and she just needed a few days of IV fluids.
Seeing that she was fine, Daisy instructed Victoria to rest well and then went home.
Samuel stayed by her side, patiently taking care of her.
His meticulous care made the nurses envious, sighing that older lovers are indeed more considerate!
Samuel bought some strawberries, washed them, and fed them to her one by one.
Victoria felt a bit embarrassed, blushing as she declined, "Samuel, I can do it myself."
Samuel picked one up and put it in her mouth, smiling, "I finally found a chance to be attentive to you, why not let me do it?"
Victoria's mouth was stuffed with a strawberry, her cheeks puffed out, just about to swallow it.
Then she saw William carrying a beautiful and fragile woman come in.
