Chapter 72

She didn't finish her sentence before Samuel stuffed a shrimp into her mouth. "Victoria, you like this, eat more."

Victoria looked at him and swallowed the words that were on the tip of her tongue.

Better to talk about it later.

At that moment, a couple walked past them.

Elmer immediately recognized that it was William from the Scott family.

The Scott Group was currently the Brown family's top partner, so Elmer quickly stood up to greet him. "William!"

Victoria followed his gaze and saw that it was indeed William and Alice.

The two stopped and looked over at them.

Seeing Victoria with her head down, a cold smile appeared on William's lips.

William squinted his eyes and turned to Elmer, nodding politely. "Mr. Brown, you're here too."

Elmer chuckled. "We're having a family meal here."

"A family meal?" William glanced at the uneasy Victoria and the man next to her, Samuel, raising his eyebrows. "How lovely!"

Victoria's hands clenched under the table. She didn't know why William was here today.

Could it be that he heard her phone call with Samuel that day and came here specifically to confront her?

Her body trembled slightly, and just as she was about to say something, Samuel's hand suddenly held hers.

Victoria didn't want to overthink it, but the facts were right in front of her, and she couldn't help but think that way.

Victoria was startled and looked up, meeting Samuel's clear eyes.

He smiled at her, as if to reassure her, and then turned to William. "Thank you, Mr. Scott. Is this your girlfriend? She's very beautiful!"

Alice, who was holding William's arm, glanced at Victoria and tightened her grip a bit, seemingly shy as she replied softly, "Thank you for the compliment!"

"So you know each other!" Elmer was surprised.

Samuel nodded calmly. "We've met a few times."

William's deep eyes darkened slightly at his words.

"Since you know each other, why not join us for a meal?" Elmer invited warmly.

William smiled. "Thank you, Mr. Brown, but I'm afraid someone might feel uncomfortable. We won't disturb your 'family meal'!"

With that, he took Alice's hand and left the private room.

Elmer looked at the door, frowning. "Why do I feel like he's a bit unhappy?"

Samuel pondered for a moment and then said, "Maybe it's because his girlfriend is here."

Primrose nodded. "Indeed."

Victoria breathed a sigh of relief.

But she couldn't shake the feeling that this wasn't over.

After William left, the atmosphere gradually returned to its previous liveliness. Primrose chatted with Victoria, asking about many interesting things in her daily life.

Victoria answered each question humbly, and the more Primrose looked at her, the more she liked her, becoming increasingly enthusiastic.

Victoria felt a bit overwhelmed and stood up, wanting to go to the restroom to take a break.

Samuel noticed her discomfort and smiled at her, not insisting on following her, giving her some time to relax.

Aroma Garden Eatery was quite large, and Victoria couldn't find the restroom after looking around.

Instead, she ended up in the flower room where the restaurant kept fresh flowers.

The decor inside was elegant, with walls covered in various flowers, emitting a faint fragrance.

Victoria was allergic to perfume but had no resistance to natural flowers.

The roses Alton sent last time probably had perfume sprayed on them, which made her sneeze.

She couldn't help but walk closer to the flowers, reaching out to pick a pink rose and bringing it to her nose to sniff. The sweet fragrance lingered, making her feel inexplicably relaxed.

She put the rose back and was about to leave.

But then she saw William standing by the flower room, smoking. His handsome profile was shrouded in a hazy light, mysterious and sexy.

He looked up inadvertently, and their eyes met. Victoria quickly looked away, feeling guilty.

Victoria didn't dare to stay any longer and hurriedly tried to leave.

William extinguished his cigarette and strode over, blocking her path.

Victoria took two steps back in fright, staring at him warily. "What are you doing?"

"Are you avoiding me?" William raised an eyebrow.

Victoria pressed her lips together, ignoring him and continuing to walk forward.

William grabbed her wrist and pulled her into the flower room, locking the door behind them.

"Let go!" Victoria struggled.

William pinned her against the wall, looking down at her with dangerous eyes. "Are you avoiding me?"

Victoria gritted her teeth and stubbornly raised her head. "No."

"No?" William sneered, pressing her. "Then why are you so flustered?"

Victoria was speechless.

Yes, why was she flustered? He already had Alice, so she had no reason to worry about him entangling with her.

Seeing her silence, William's tone became severe. "Tell me!"

Victoria bit her lip, refusing to speak.

William's eyes darkened. "Victoria, don't tell me you're avoiding me because you're afraid Samuel will misunderstand?"

Victoria was stunned. She did want to avoid him, but not because of Samuel.

"Think whatever you want!" Victoria said, turning to leave.

William grabbed her waist and pulled her into his arms, his lips landing on her neck, biting hard.

Victoria groaned.

She could clearly smell the strong scent of alcohol on William.

"Let go!" Victoria elbowed his abdomen, trying to break free, but it was futile.

She had to resort to using her legs to attack him.

But before her leg could touch him, William pinned her down. His other hand covered her breast, kneading through the soft sweater.

Victoria trembled all over.

She was both anxious and angry. "Bastard, let go of me!"

"You better pray I don't find out you have any intimate relationship with Samuel," William's hoarse voice sounded.

His fingers lingered on her chest, seemingly wanting to go further.

Victoria's eyes widened in horror, and she shook her head desperately. "No!"

William put a finger to his lips, whispering, "Shut up, and don't move, or else..."

Before he finished speaking, he kissed her lips.

His warm tongue invaded her mouth, taking in her scent, dominating her territory, and savoring her sweetness.

Victoria felt like she was floating, her thoughts lost in William's fiery breath.

His lips were cool and moist, like poppies blooming on a rainy night.

He kissed her, his hand wandering over her body, teasing her.

After what felt like an eternity, William finally reluctantly left her lips, resting his forehead against hers, whispering, "Good girl."

His warm breath tickled her ear, making her body tingle and a strange sense of unfamiliarity rise within her.

Victoria could clearly feel his swollen erection pressing against her, the scorching heat transmitting through their clothes to her skin, making her whole body stiffen.

"Alice is still waiting for you," Victoria reminded him softly.
