Chapter 81

Meanwhile, Daisy also arrived at the police station. She went straight to the officer on duty and said, "I'm here to bail out Victoria. Please help me with the paperwork."

The officer on duty checked the records and then shook his head. "I'm sorry, ma'am, but she isn't eligible for bail right now. The case is still under investigation, and we can't release her right now."

Daisy's face darkened, and she raised her voice a bit. "Why? I can pay the highest bail amount. I want her out immediately."

The officer on duty, accustomed to such reactions from family members, remained calm.

He patiently explained to Daisy, "This case involves drugs, and someone has been hospitalized because of it. According to the rules, we can't release anyone until the investigation is complete."

Daisy was about to say something when her lawyer, Jagger, also arrived at the police station. He patted Daisy on the shoulder, signaling her to stay calm.

Jagger said to the officer on duty, "I am Ms. Scott's attorney. We need to know the progress of the case."

The officer on duty glanced at the records. "We are currently investigating the source of the drugs and the people involved."

Daisy's face turned red with anger. She turned to Jagger and asked urgently, "Is there really no way? Victoria is innocent. She's young and must be terrified."

Jagger whispered to Daisy, "Ms. Scott, please calm down. This matter can be serious. If the drug charges are confirmed, Victoria could face severe legal consequences. The most important thing now is to cooperate with the police investigation and find evidence in her favor."

Daisy took a deep breath, barely suppressing her anger, and then said to the officer, "I request a visit."

The officer hesitated for a second and then agreed. "Okay."

Victoria had never felt a wait this long before. She curled up in a corner, hugging her knees, with her head buried in them, tears streaming down her cheeks.

At that moment, the iron door suddenly made a noise. Victoria quickly looked up and saw Daisy standing outside the bars.

"Victoria!" Daisy's voice was filled with heartache when she saw Victoria's haggard and pale appearance. "Don't be afraid. I will get you out as soon as possible."

Victoria pressed her dry lips together and choked out, "Ms. Scott, thank you for coming to help me."

Daisy reached out to touch her cold, stiff cheek and softly comforted her, "I was there almost the whole time yesterday, except when you and Alice went to the dance floor. Can you tell me if anything unusual happened?"

Victoria thought carefully and said, "Nothing special, just that she suddenly tripped me while we were dancing, and I almost fell. She then pulled me back. And then..."

At this point, Victoria hesitated, her eyes turning red as if she wanted to cry but held back her tears.

Seeing this, Daisy sighed and patted Victoria's shoulder. "Alright, don't worry. I've already hired a lawyer for you."

Victoria bit her lip lightly. "Ms. Scott, I'm sorry for causing you trouble."

Daisy shook her head with a smile. "Silly girl, it's the Scott family that caused you trouble. You are the victim."

Victoria felt a lump in her throat.

She knew very well who was behind this disaster, but from beginning to end, she never had a choice.

She was just a person with no support, at the mercy of the Scott family and the Garcia family.

Daisy found out from Harry which hospital Alice was in and hurried there.

In the hospital room, Daisy didn't see William, only Alice lying in bed, which made her furious.

She walked to the bedside, grabbed Alice by the collar, and demanded, "Why did you do this?"

Alice's face was deathly pale, her lips blue, seemingly in unbearable pain.

Daisy's brow furrowed tightly. She let go of Alice and scolded, "Stop pretending! You set Victoria up, didn't you?"

"Daisy..." Alice called weakly, "Don't you believe me?"

Alice coughed violently and slowly said, "Daisy, you misunderstood. I was really drugged. I felt dizzy and panicked as soon as I left the bar and rushed to the hospital..."

Daisy was about to say something when the door was kicked open.

William rushed in with medicine in hand, anxiously asking, "How are you now?"

Alice gave him a weak smile and replied, "I'm just a bit dizzy, nothing serious."

Then she turned her head to look at Daisy, sadly saying, "Daisy, I know you blame me. I regret it too. If I had known it was Victoria, I wouldn't have called the police!"

Daisy laughed in anger. "Do you think we're all fools?"

She couldn't believe that Alice would resort to self-harm to frame Victoria.

She was ruthless to others and to herself.

It was truly terrifying.

How could William like such a venomous person?

Alice's face grew even paler, and she continued coughing, shaking her head. "I'm not lying!"

Seeing this, William quickly stopped Daisy from questioning further, his brow furrowed. "Aunt Daisy, she's still sick. Let's talk outside."

Daisy glared at Alice before following William out of the room.

In the hospital corridor, Daisy looked at William's detestable face, wanting to slap him.

"William, I don't believe you can't see who's behind this," Daisy scolded. "Do you know Victoria could be sentenced?"

"I'll handle this. You stay out of it."

Daisy was furious. "Stay out of it? William, you're insane. You forced such a young girl into a relationship with you, and now she's facing serious charges because of you, and you want me to do nothing?"

William frowned. "Don't worry. It's just a lesson. She won't actually go to jail."

Daisy sneered. "How kind of you. But have you thought about how scared Victoria is now? She's linked to drugs. If people find out, how will she live? William, you and Alice are heartless!"

William had nothing to say, only grunting. "Anyway, I'll handle it."

Daisy was livid and pushed him hard. "I don't care what you do. Victoria must be released by tomorrow morning, or I'll tell your grandfather everything!"
