Chapter 85
At a sharp turn, Samuel showcased his exceptional skills.
He leaned his body inward, his skis cutting precisely into the snow, completing the turn at an incredible speed.
William was equally impressive, adjusting his balance to navigate the turn in a more stable manner.
Victoria clenched her hands nervously, silently cheering for Samuel's brilliant performance while also worrying for William.
Having known William for so long, she never realized he was so good at skiing.
Alice glanced at the two skiing men, then at the nervous Victoria, revealing a venomous smile.
She hadn't expected William to compete with Samuel for Victoria.
It seemed she had underestimated Victoria's place in his heart.
But fortunately, not only had Victoria not noticed, but William himself hadn't realized his attention towards Victoria, thinking he just wanted to get back at her.
Alice clenched her fists tightly, her eyes flashing with malicious calculation.
The surrounding spectators were also captivated by the exciting race, exclaiming in amazement.
As the race progressed, the two men's speed increased, and the competition grew fiercer.
They sped down the slope, their figures like two streaks of lightning.
William constantly sought opportunities to overtake Samuel, while Samuel remained vigilant, giving William no chance.
On the final straight, William decided to sprint with all his might.
He pushed hard with his legs, increasing his speed, his ski poles moving rapidly on the snow.
Samuel also felt the pressure, accelerating to maintain his lead.
Victoria's eyes were fixed on the finish line, her nerves at their peak.
She didn't know whether she wanted Samuel or William to win.
The surrounding spectators held their breath, eagerly awaiting the final result.
In the end, Samuel crossed the finish line first by a narrow margin.
He stopped his skis, removed his goggles, and panted heavily, sweat beading on his forehead.
William followed closely behind, crossing the finish line.
He took off his skis, threw his goggles on the ground, and walked away without looking at Victoria.
Alice stepped forward, picked up William's discarded items, and quickly followed him.
She then turned to Victoria and Samuel with a smile and said, "Ms. Carter, Mr. Brown, if you don't mind, we're heading to the hotel at the ski resort to rest. I've already booked the rooms, just give your names when you arrive. See you tonight!"
Victoria softly agreed, watching them leave.
Once they were out of sight, Victoria finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Samuel removed his gear, walked up to Victoria, and asked with a smile, "How was it? Not bad, right?"
Victoria nodded, genuinely praising, "Very impressive."
Hearing Victoria's words, Samuel couldn't help but smile and said softly, "Actually, I have even better skills in the bedroom."
His voice was so low that Victoria didn't hear clearly and asked, "What did you say?"
"Nothing, let's go, I'll take you to try other activities."
"Okay," Victoria nodded.
William stormed back to the luxurious hotel suite, immediately grabbed the water cup on the table, and drank it all.
He felt a burning rage in his chest, wanting to tear Samuel apart.
He never thought he would do something so childish and ridiculous, competing with someone over a woman.
And he lost!
He felt like he was going crazy!
Alice followed him into the room, seeing William's furious expression, her hatred for Victoria growing stronger.
However, she controlled her emotions, smiling as she approached to comfort William, "William, don't be angry, let me help you cool down, okay?"
As she spoke, she reached out to touch William's neck.
Her fingers were cold, touching William's skin, making him feel a tingling sensation.
This feeling made him a bit dazed.
But he quickly regained his composure, grabbing Alice's mischievous hand and sternly scolding, "Who taught you these things?"
Alice was taken aback, pouting in grievance, "William, I..."
Seeing her pitiful look, William softened and said gently, "Be good, don't learn these things, you don't need to."
Alice dug her nails into her palm, suppressing her anger, and squeezed out a tear.
"William, do you despise me because of the past?"
William was stunned, his tone softening, "No, how could you think that?"
Alice raised her red-rimmed eyes, "Then why?"
"Alice, you know, I want to wait until we get married..."
Before William could finish, Alice suddenly hugged him, crying, "William, please, don't hate me. I'm really afraid of losing you."
"Silly girl, how could I?" William patted her back, comforting her gently.
Alice buried her head in his chest, a cold smile on her lips.
Her heart was filled with hatred, and she vowed to repay today's humiliation to Victoria a hundredfold.
Under Samuel's guidance, Victoria practiced a few more laps, gradually getting the hang of skiing and no longer as clumsy as before.
When she took off her skis, she found her ankles aching badly, almost unable to stand.
"What's wrong? Are you in pain?" Samuel quickly supported her, frowning with concern.
"It's nothing, just a bit sore," Victoria shook her head.
"Wait here for a moment," Samuel said, helping her to sit down.
He took their gear to the storage area and then returned.
He knelt beside Victoria, checking her injury.
Victoria wanted to refuse, but her right foot hurt so much that she went along with Samuel's actions.
Samuel removed her shoe, carefully examining her ankle.
"Fortunately, it's not a sprain."
Samuel helped her put her shoe back on, then scooped her up in his arms.
Victoria cried out in surprise, "Samuel!"
Samuel smiled and explained, "I'm carrying you back to the hotel to rest."
Victoria struggled to get down, but Samuel insisted, "Don't worry, I'm just taking you there, I won't take advantage of you."
Victoria initially wanted to resist, but then she thought about the terrifying Alice at the hotel. Being close to Samuel might ease Alice's hostility towards her.
With this in mind, she stopped struggling.
"Thank you," Victoria said softly.
Samuel smiled and said nothing more, carrying Victoria back to the hotel.
William and Alice were chatting in the lobby, waiting for them to return for dinner, and saw Samuel and Victoria's intimate behavior.
