Chapter 94
Victoria was taken aback and asked, "What award ceremony?"
"You haven't received the invitation yet?" Samuel asked in confusion, "I clearly told..."
Samuel seemed to remember something, smiled wryly, and said, "Sorry, Victoria, I'll have someone send the invitation to you later. Your work for the competition won the gold medal."
"Really?" Victoria exclaimed in surprise. She hadn't expected that the work she had given up hope on would actually win an award.
"Yes, congratulations," Samuel said with a smile.
"Thank you, Samuel." At this moment, Victoria had forgotten the awkward relationship between them.
"Victoria," Samuel paused for a few seconds and then said, "I need to sketch from my surroundings now, so I'll hang up now. Take care."
"Okay." Victoria paused for a moment and then hung up the phone.
Samuel held his phone, standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, looking at the distant blue sky. A self-deprecating smile flickered across his lips.
He tossed the phone onto the table, picked up a paintbrush, and began working on a new piece.
The award ceremony was on Saturday evening. Victoria rented a gown, did her own makeup and hair, and then headed to the venue.
Tonight's award ceremony was grand, with celebrities from all walks of life and extensive media coverage.
Victoria sat in the audience, scanning the room. She not only saw Diana but also William and Alice.
Of course, William was not only the owner of the largest media company in Silvermist City but also the second-largest shareholder of Starry Studio Gallery. Naturally, he would be invited. Their presence here was not surprising.
Victoria's gaze finally settled on William.
He was wearing a white suit, his tall figure looking even more imposing.
His expression was indifferent, his demeanor elegant and noble, exuding an innate aristocratic aura.
Alice, holding his arm, was all smiles, and the two of them were the focus of everyone's envy.
Victoria felt a pang of bitterness. Seeing Alice's happy demeanor and remembering her previous insults, Victoria felt a tightness in her chest.
She forced herself to look away.
At that moment, a familiar figure entered through the door.
Bobby!
Why was he here too?
She widened her eyes in surprise.
Bobby also saw Victoria, but he wasn't surprised. A mocking smile appeared on his lips as he walked to the seat next to her, pulled the chair aside, and sat directly opposite her.
Victoria frowned slightly. She really disliked his arrogant demeanor and wondered where he got his confidence from.
"Victoria, long time no see!" Bobby said in a sarcastic tone.
"Long time no see, Bobby!" Victoria's eyes coldly stared at Bobby.
Now, she felt an inexplicable aversion to him.
Bobby sneered, "You'd better not get involved with me. I don't want your scandals affecting me."
Victoria snorted coldly, "Who do you think you are? A thief!"
Bobby's face darkened, and he glared at Victoria, "What nonsense are you spouting?"
"Isn't it true? You stole my painting. Aren't you a thief?" Victoria retorted.
"Victoria, shut up!" Bobby looked around and growled.
Victoria raised her chin, glaring at him provocatively, "Who are you to yell at me? Bobby, you're despicable. The work you submitted for the national competition was stolen from me. Are you here to receive an award for another stolen piece today?"
"You're unreasonable! I don't want to waste my breath on you! We'll see." Bobby glared at Victoria and turned away.
Victoria sneered, "Bobby, I'm telling you, this is the last time I'll tolerate you. If you steal my painting or frame me again, I'll take you down with me!"
"Who do you think you are? I'm not afraid of you!" Bobby said arrogantly.
"Really? In that case, let's wait and see." Victoria sneered, looking at his arrogant demeanor, wanting to slap him.
"Try exposing me. Mom won't forgive you."
"Mom?" Victoria sneered, "Since she doesn't treat me as her daughter, why should I consider her my mom?"
No matter what happened, Nora always sided with Bobby, never considering Emily's feelings.
Especially after Alvin's incident, Nora treated her as a money-making tool and a pawn to be used, never caring about her.
She would rather not have such a mother.
Bobby's expression changed slightly, then returned to normal, "Victoria, stop trying to scare me. Do you think I'll believe you?"
"Believe it or not." Victoria finished speaking and no longer looked at him.
Bobby gritted his teeth, a cold glint in his eyes.
Victoria didn't want to continue entangling with him. Seeing that there was still half an hour before the award ceremony, she got up and walked to the buffet area.
Bobby watched Victoria's back, his fists clenched, a murderous look in his eyes.
'Victoria, since you don't know what's good for you, don't blame me for being ruthless!' he thought.
He narrowed his eyes, staring darkly in the direction Victoria left.
Victoria picked some of her favorite fruits, found a quiet corner, and sat down to eat quietly, waiting for the award ceremony to begin.
William sat in the audience, his deep eyes watching her out of the corner of his eye.
Seeing her like a little hamster, slowly eating the food on her plate, her cheeks puffed up, he couldn't help but smile.
Victoria sensed someone watching her, turned her head, and their eyes met. She frowned slightly, then looked away, continuing to eat the delicious food on her plate.
Seeing this, William frowned, feeling inexplicably irritated.
Alice followed his gaze and saw Victoria.
She sneered, then leaned close to William's ear and said, "William, the award ceremony is about to start. You're the opening guest, let's take our seats."
"Okay," William responded, getting up and following Alice to his seat.
The award ceremony was about to begin. The host took the stage, and the audience applauded warmly.
Victoria returned to her seat, waiting for the ceremony to start.
The host said a few opening remarks and then announced, "Next, let's welcome Mr. Scott, the renowned CEO of the Scott Group, to deliver a speech for our art association's award ceremony!"
