Chapter 113

"I heard from Atticus that you've been still with him recently. What's going on?" Orion, who usually didn't like to talk, suddenly spoke up.

"Uncle Orion, we haven't officially divorced yet, so..." Isabella didn't dare mention the pregnancy plans, fearing her uncles would strongly oppose it.

It wasn't about the child; they just wouldn't allow the child's father to be Michael.

"Isabella, we're not forcing you to make a decision. It's just that you're still young and don't understand how cruel a man's heart can be. You can't forgive him just because of a temporary change. What if he's just pretending? Back then, Grace was deceived by that scoundrel Indigo. We couldn't stop her, and now you haven't reached that point yet. Getting out early is a way to protect yourself." Orion's voice came gently, showing care without pressure.

Hearing this, Holden also nodded. "Orion is right. If Michael truly loved you, how could he ignore you for three years and let others bully you? Now he regrets it, but who knows if he's just acting? Michael's words can't be fully trusted."

Isabella knew her uncles genuinely cared for her.

If it were before today, she would have believed and followed their advice without hesitation.

But today, she saw Michael's attitude towards Indigo and Harper, and the moment he shielded her from the knife.

She suddenly felt like she had never truly understood Michael.

But she couldn't ignore her uncles' good intentions.

"Uncle Holden, Uncle Orion, I understand what you're saying. I don't plan to reconcile with him. We've signed the divorce papers, and after some time, we'll have no interactions."

Hearing this, Holden and Orion exchanged a glance, and both of them breathed a sigh of relief.

But while Isabella could let it go, her uncles couldn't.

Holden added, "We know about this, thinking the Brown Family has gone too far this time. Michael ignored you for three years. We're back to see him and see how arrogant he really is."

Orion agreed with this action.

The Wilsons weren't ones to be easily bullied.

Seeing this, Isabella didn't insist. If she spoke for Michael again, it would really hurt her uncles' feelings.

Besides, she also wanted to see how Michael would handle being troubled by her uncles.

When the car arrived at the hospital, Atticus and Thomas were already there.

Only the second uncle, Kian Wilson, couldn't make it back due to other commitments.

Even so, for the Wilson Family, who rarely gathered, it was a rare reunion.

Seeing his sons, who had been working hard outside, return, Daniel's spirits lifted significantly.

Especially when he saw Isabella, his smile deepened. "Isabella, come here, let me take a look at you."

"Grandpa, the uncles are all here. They'll be jealous if you do this," Isabella joked with a smile.

Despite her words, she quickly walked to Daniel's side and held his hand.

"Forget it. A bunch of single men, none of them get married. Do you plan to stay single forever? Isabella, you're the only one I haven't had to worry about. I heard from Michael that you two have started preparing for a baby."

Isabella was stunned, and the next second, she felt several sharp gazes on her, which were all from her uncles behind her.

She forced a smile. "Grandpa, no rush. The most important thing for you now is to take care of your health. When the baby is born, you'll need to help me take care of it."

Daniel laughed at this. "Nonsense, I'm too old to take care of a child. If the baby gets hurt, Aiden would be furious with me. I just want to see the baby every day. That's enough for me."

Isabella followed his lead. "Then you need to take good care of yourself. When the baby is born, you'll be the first to hold it, okay?"

"Okay. I'll wait for that day" Talking about the baby made Daniel very happy.

He was old, and his five sons were all focused on their careers, unwilling to marry and have children. Seeing Isabella's child was his biggest wish.

"Dad, Isabella has been busy at the company all day. Let her rest. We'll keep you company." Atticus stepped in.

Isabella looked back gratefully at Atticus.

From the beginning, Atticus had ensured the hospital was completely sealed off, so no outside news could get in.

Thus, Daniel didn't know about what Michael had done to her or their divorce.

She was genuinely afraid something might happen to Daniel, so she had to keep it a secret.

Only Atticus and Thomas knew about her plans to have a child; the other two uncles didn't.

"Alright, Isabella, you've worked hard. Go rest." Daniel patted her hand affectionately, urging her to go to bed early.

Isabella nodded, leaving the space for her uncles and Daniel to talk.

Outside the hospital, Jesse was already waiting.

Just as she was about to get in the car, her phone buzzed with a new message.

It was a photo, which showed Michael lying pale in a hospital bed.

Ethan: [Isabella, Michael got hurt for you. Can't you come see him? Do you know he's waiting for you?]

Isabella's hand trembled as she held the phone.

She slowly asked, "Is Michael really that badly hurt?"

Hearing her, Jesse turned around, thinking she was talking to him, and replied, "The doctor said Michael's wound is deep but not life-threatening."

Feeling something hit her hard in the chest, Isabella blurted out, "Take me to the hospital."

Jesse was stunned, wanting to say something, but seeing Isabella's furrowed brows, he nodded and started the car.

They quickly found out which hospital Michael had been transferred to, not far from where Daniel was.

Ten minutes later, the car stopped outside the inpatient building.

Jesse was about to get out and follow, but Isabella told him, "No need, you could leave."

She said she could have a bodyguard pick her up later.

With that, she entered the hospital.

Following the nurse's directions, she quickly found Michael's floor.

Inside the ward, Stella was personally taking care of the injured Michael, tirelessly wiping his hands and face with a towel.

The usually arrogant Michael, who could infuriate her with a single word, lay there with his eyes closed, pale.

In all their years of marriage, she had never seen Michael so vulnerable.

It seemed he was born to be that proud and arrogant.
