Chapter 115
.
Thinking about the thrilling scene that happened during the day, Isabella suddenly wanted to check his wound. No matter how many times others said it was fine, she was always worried.
Harper rushed up like a madwoman, and the force must have been heavy.
Thinking of this, she got up and secretly lifted the blanket covering Michael.
Just as she was about to pull it down, before revealing Michael's waist, her hand was grabbed by Michael. "Isabella, what are you doing? Why are you still here!"
Under the incandescent light, Michael's face was pale, and his eyes exuded an icy coldness.
Isabella was still bent over at this moment. With him gripping her hand so tightly, half of her body was almost pressed against his chest.
She coughed lightly. "I came back to make things clear. You saved me, and I should say thank to you!"
"You came back just to that?" Michael smiled coldly. "Are you done? If you're done, leave!"
He really couldn't forgive her for what she did today. She knew he was injured and hospitalized, but when the doctor needed a family member's signature, she wasn't by his side.
She didn't even come to see him after his surgery.
All in all, she didn't care whether he lived or died; the only person in her eyes was Nolan.
Her hands were thrown off, and Isabella got angry too. "Michael, what do you mean by this? You saved me, and I'm very grateful. I came specifically to thank you, not to argue with you!"
She was also very tired, but she still held on until he fell asleep before coming to see him.
She just wanted to see that he was okay before she could go back with peace of mind.
However, he immediately showed this attitude of driving her away, not letting her finish a single sentence.
Michael sneered. "Isabella, Do you think I'm easy to fool? Where were you when I was in the operating room? You were chatting and laughing with another man, and now you remember me?"
She went to the airport in the afternoon and didn't show up until late at night. She had been with Nolan all that time.
He could see how special Nolan was to Isabella.
If she hadn't left him alone here, he would have been happy to see her no matter when she came.
But she came to him only after being with Nolan. How could he not overthink it?
The man Michael mentioned, Isabella thought of as Holden and Orion.
She really couldn't argue. "I had something to do in the middle, but I'm here now, aren't I? Michael, can you not bring this up at this time?"
Thinking she admitted that she went to see Nolan, Michael felt a stabbing pain in his heart, worse than the pain from his wound. "Who you want to see is your freedom. I have no right to control you. Go see whoever you want. You don't need to tell me, and you don't need to stay here. I don't need your fake concern."
She came here only because of her sense of morality, just to take a look. It had nothing to do with who he was.
"Michael, what is wrong with you!" Isabella was really fed up with him. Even in this state, he still had this sarcastic attitude.
"If you don't want me to stay, then let me see your wound. I'll just take a look and leave," As she spoke, she tried to pull the blanket off him again, but Michael grabbed her hand firmly once more.
Michael's face looked even worse than before. "Isabella, you finally told the truth, didn't you? You came here not because you were worried about me, but because you wanted to know how serious my injury is. You're worried about whether my injury will affect you and the Wilson Group!"
"What are you talking about?" Isabella didn't quite understand what he meant.
But Michael no longer believed her. He pulled her hand towards him. "Didn't you want to leave? I won't let you have your way. Tonight, I want you to stay with me!"
The thought of her rushing back to meet Nolan drove Michael crazy.
As long as he could keep her by his side, whether by means or force, he would accept it.
"Michael, are you out of your mind!" Isabella was so angry she wanted to hit him, but remembering his injury, she gritted her teeth and held back, just wanting to escape from him.
But the more she struggled, the tighter Michael's grip became.
Suddenly, Michael let out a pale-faced cry, freeing one hand to press tightly on his wound, and cold sweat began to bead on his forehead.
Isabella was startled, realizing she had touched his wound.
She had forgotten he had just had surgery and couldn't exert force.
Heartache and guilt surged in her heart. Isabella didn't care about their intimate posture and anxiously asked, "Michael, what's wrong? Did your wound reopen?"
Without waiting for his response, Isabella couldn't wait to check his wound.
But Michael wouldn't let her see it, holding the blanket tightly.
Above her, Michael's voice was almost stubbornly hoarse. "Isabella, you're just here to go through the motions. I won't let you see this wound. Whether it reopens or not has nothing to do with you. Even if I die, it's none of your business."
Isabella was furious. She couldn't stand his attitude of treating his own body as a joke. "Michael, have you had enough!"
She bit her lip, her eyes already red from the moment he cried out in pain.
Seeing that, Michael was stunned.
He had been arguing with her, avoiding looking at her directly, but now her eyes were red, and the area around her eyes was swollen, clearly from crying.
She didn't leave earlier because she was crying outside? So, she still had feelings for him.
Thinking of this, Michael felt as if something had struck his heart, instantly softening it.
At this moment, Isabella took advantage of his distraction and pulled the blanket away to check his wound. There was a thick bandage around his rib area, where was already seeping with fresh blood. His wound had indeed reopened.
Isabella glared at him with red eyes. He knew he was injured and still acted recklessly, without caring about his own body at all.
Ignoring Michael's shouts, Isabella went out to find the on-duty doctor.
In the ward, the doctor re-applied medication and bandaged Michael.
Since he had just had surgery, the wound hadn't shown signs of healing yet. Reapplying the medication without anesthesia was undoubtedly painful, but Michael didn't make a sound.
Isabella went from being angry at first to feeling sorry for him as she saw his pained expression. She turned her head, unable to watch the scene any longer.
During this time, Aaron suddenly had to go home for something. Michael was still being treated inside, so he entrusted him to Isabella.
Isabella didn't say much, telling him to go home and that she would stay here.
Aaron was very grateful, hurriedly grabbing his coat and leaving.
This commotion lasted until midnight. Isabella washed her face with cold water and returned to the ward.
The doctor had already left. Michael was lying flat on the hospital bed. When he saw Isabella return, a glimmer of light flashed in his eyes, but it quickly disappeared.
He asked coldly, "Why are you still here?"
