Chapter 126

Violet's face lit up with a perfectly measured smile, the kind Michael used to love the most.

Michael, currently jealous of Isabella giving way to Nolan, raised an eyebrow when he heard a sound nearby.

He deliberately said in front of Isabella, "I don't mind, having a beautiful woman by my side makes me happy!"

They were sitting right next to her, so there was no way Isabella couldn't hear it.

But she tried her best not to let it bother her, reminding herself that Michael's personal life was none of her concern.

To avoid focusing all her attention on Michael, she turned her gaze to Nolan.

Nolan and Michael sat on either side of her, looking quite similar, but their temperaments were nothing alike.

Nolan was a gentle gentleman, with outstanding qualities and strong abilities, as if nothing in the world could shake him.

However, Michael was a hot-tempered person.

He would get angry over the trivial things, and sometimes she didn't even know what had upset him before he suddenly lost control.

What she couldn't understand was why she was so hopelessly in love with someone as bad-tempered as Michael.

What would it be like if Michael with Nolan's gentleness and thoughtfulness.

Isabella bit her lip slightly, imagining a scene that made her infatuated, and her gaze remained fixed on Nolan.

To Michael, this look was evidence that Isabella was uncontrollably infatuated with Nolan.

His eyes instantly darkened. He even ignored Violet, who kept trying to talk to him.

Seeing the two of them exchanging such affectionate glances right in front of him, he thought they would be even more intimate if they were alone.

Thinking of this, Michael grabbed Isabella's waist and pulled her close, whispering coldly in her ear, "If you keep looking, I'll have a wall built between you two!"

Isabella snapped back to reality, meeting Michael's sinister gaze in a daze, and unconsciously replied, "How do you know I was looking at him?"

The pain in her waist instantly brought Isabella back to her senses.

Michael's face had darkened completely, and he held her tightly, not letting her move an inch. "Isabella, flirting with Nolan right in front of me, do you think I'm chopped liver?"

Feeling guilty, Isabella coughed lightly and said indifferently, "You're clearly alive and well."

After saying that, she no longer looked at Michael's face.

The low pressure emanating from him was enough for her to sense how angry he was, but she didn't care.

Why could he chat with Violet in front of her, but she couldn't look at Nolan?

Besides, she wasn't looking at just anyone; she was looking at his brother, Nolan.

Michael couldn't do anything about her, so he could only grit his teeth and glare at Nolan, who completely ignored him.

Michael was utterly defeated.

Sitting nearby, Violet witnessed Michael's concern for Isabella and her indifference towards him, feeling furious inside.

In just a few days, Isabella had learned how to pique Michael's interest.

She flirted with Nolan in front of Michael, arousing his possessiveness, and then ignored him.

Poor Michael, knowing it was Isabella's tactic, still fell for it.

What right did a woman like Isabella have to receive Michael's favor? Only she, Violet, was worthy of Michael's love.

'Isabella, don't you enjoy being adored? I want to see if you could maintain your reputation once your spotlight is stolen.' Thinking of that, a hint of malice flashed in Violet's eyes.

She greeted Isabella softly across Michael, "Ms. Taylor, today is your birthday party. I wonder if your final program is the same as ours?"

Isabella turned to look at Violet, feeling an inexplicable dislike for her.

She didn't like dealing with someone as opportunistic as Violet, whose ambition was extremely obvious.

But for Nolan's sake, she replied, "Ms. Cooper, I don't know what special program you are referring to?"

Seeing Isabella respond, Violet smiled. "It's nothing special. It's just that at our place, we usually have the birthday person perform at the end as a way to conclude the celebration."

Hearing this, Isabella squinted her eyes.

From the first moment, she had seen through Violet's intentions.

But she didn't expect Violet to spend so much time just to get her to perform a program. What was Violet up to?

As if afraid Isabella would refuse, Violet continued, "Ms. Taylor, please don't misunderstand. I heard from Mr. Brown that you are very talented and smart, so I thought of this. It's also a way to let more people see your charm."

Isabella was stunned for a moment and instinctively glanced at Nolan.

To her surprise, Nolan was also looking at her, his eyes filled with embarrassment and awkwardness.

It was clear that these words had indeed come from his mouth.

Nolan wasn't the type to talk about the personalities of those around him.

Expect for touched, Isabella was also curious about Nolan and Violet's relationship.

Unless they were close, Nolan wouldn't mention such things to her.

After thinking for a moment, Isabella smiled. "Nolan was flattering me. I usually just laze around at home, not very talented. Performing on stage is not for me. It would be embarrassing if I messed up."

She said this last part specifically for Violet.

From the moment they met, Violet had been inquiring about Michael, and now she was bringing up the topic of her performing on stage. Violet's hostility was too obvous to be ignored for her.

"Ms. Taylor, I don't believe that. Mr. Brown wouldn't lie about such things. Not only me, but Mr. Brown also wants to see your performance. Ms. Taylor, would you really disappoint Mr. Brown?" By the end, Violet was speaking to Isabella in a very familiar tone, making Isabella frown and feel like she had heard it somewhere before.

Knowing that Violet was insisting on her performing despite expecting her refusal, Isabella had to question her intentions.

Since Violet's focus was on the stage, she decided to play along and see what Violet was up to.

"You've said so much, it would be wrong for me to refuse. What do you think this special program should be?" Isabella raised an eyebrow and asked.

On the surface, she was giving Violet the choice, but in reality, she was waiting to find flaws in Violet's reaction.

She didn't care about the performance; she just wanted to see what Violet was trying to use her for.

Violet's eyes lit up, pretending to have just noticed, and pointed to the piano on the stage. "I heard from Mr. Brown that you play the piano very well. Why not play a piece for everyone to enjoy?"
