Chapter 13
The way the two of them were talking with their heads down clearly showed they were a loving couple.
But to Daniel, something seemed off. "Isabella, Michael is right. You've been married for three years now; it's time to have a child of your own. Or are you just wanting to play around for a few more years and deliberately not having one?"
Isabella bit her lip, feeling extremely wronged, but she couldn't say anything in front of Daniel.
If she said it was Michael who didn't want kids, Daniel's sharp mind would definitely figure out something was wrong between them.
If she said she didn't want kids, Daniel wouldn't believe it.
After all, she had willingly married Michael back then. She loved Michael so much, and it didn't make sense that they hadn't had a child in three years.
No matter what she said, it would be wrong. Isabella was so anxious that her eyes were about to turn red.
At that moment, Michael spoke up for her, "Daniel, it's not Isabella's fault. I wanted us to have some time alone first, so we didn't plan for a child early on."
"You young people are just too laid-back. It's been three years; it's time to have a child and settle down." Daniel said earnestly.
The misunderstanding was cleared up.
"I understand. We'll have a child. Just wait and see." Isabella tried her best not to let Daniel see anything amiss and quickly agreed.
As for whether it would be Michael's child, that was uncertain.
Hearing Isabella say it herself, Daniel was overjoyed, "Good, you said it. I'll be waiting for the good news."
"Yes, Grandpa, take care of your health. Don't overwork yourself. I'll come to visit you." After a few more words to appease Daniel, Isabella finally hung up the phone.
The next second, she stood up and glared at Michael, "Michael, did you do that on purpose?"
Michael's expression didn't change. He straightened his clothes and said leisurely, "What did I do? I was just chatting with you and Daniel. You didn't like it?"
Isabella was so angry she gritted her teeth, not wanting to say more. She greeted Aiden and turned to leave.
She didn't even look at Michael.
Michael wanted to follow her, but Aiden stopped him. "Where are you going?"
Michael paused, his tall figure turning around, exuding an air of mischief, "Grandpa, didn't you scold me enough just now?"
Aiden said angrily, "Let me tell you, if it weren't for Isabella's family being in trouble back then, do you think you could have married her? Three years of marriage, and you haven't even visited Isabella's relatives. Is this how you treat your wife?"
Michael's face turned cold, "That's none of your business. I have my own ways."
Aiden snorted, "You just talk. Isabella has been staying at home for you these past few years, losing her own life. And you? Playing around outside all the time, not doing anything good. By the way, go and get rid of that woman and her daughter outside. Isabella doesn't want to see them. Don't affect her mood."
Michael said nothing, his face dark.
After a moment, he looked up at Aiden and said calmly, "Isabella's grandpa, Daniel, don't you have anything to tell me about him?"
There were rumors that after Isabella left the Taylor Family, she was taken to a remote countryside, living with Daniel.
But the Daniel he just saw in the video was clearly more imposing than Aiden, with an arrogance and dominance that ordinary people couldn't possess.
It was impossible to associate him with an old farmer.
Aiden and Isabella must be hiding something from him.
Aiden wasn't afraid at all. Sitting in the chair behind the desk, he raised an eyebrow, "What do I have to say to you? That's Isabella's grandpa. You should have taken gifts to visit him. It's you fault if you don't know him?"
Michael's face darkened.
Just as he was about to leave, Aiden reminded him, "Michael, I've done everything I can for you. If you still can't keep Isabella, that's your own problem. And don't forget what you promised Isabella just now. Daniel is her closest family."
Michael frowned, "You don't need to worry. I understand."
With that, he left.
On the other side.
Isabella returned to their marital home and immediately started packing her things.
In three years of marriage, she had lived in this room alone.
She used to buy flowers and decorations to make the place look nice, hoping it would lift his spirits when he came home.
But he never cared about this place.
She got tired.
A one-sided marriage was too boring. She wanted to leave.
After packing the last item, Isabella grabbed her suitcase and was about to leave.
Suddenly a cold, bone-chilling voice sounded behind her, "Where are you going?"
Isabella turned around to see Michael standing there with a cold expression.
She calmed down, "Do I need to report to you where I'm going? Don't forget our relationship."
"If you want to leave, leave the things behind." Michael walked over step by step, his tall figure almost enveloping her.
She had changed clothes, wearing a burgundy fitted long dress that perfectly showcased her beautiful figure, with her exposed skin looking delicate.
Isabella understood his meaning and sneered, "These are my personal belongings. Why can't I take them?"
"What if there's something from the Brown Family hidden inside?"
Michael was cold and unreasonable.
Isabella's chest heaved with anger. She immediately opened the suitcase for him to see, "Fine, check it yourself. See if there's anything hidden from the Brown Family?"
Michael really came over to check.
His fingers picked up a ruby ring from the suitcase, his lips curling without a trace of emotion, "If I'm not mistaken, this was worn by Grandma when she was young."
"That was a birthday gift from Aiden. What does it have to do with the Brown Family?" Isabella tried to snatch it back, but she wasn't tall enough. Michael raised his hand slightly, and she almost fell onto him.
She had wanted to keep it as a memento, but ifhe wanted it, he could have it.
"Not just the ring. The clothes you're wearing, the jewelry, the branded bags in the closet, all bought with money from my card. Do you think you can take them without my permission?"
Isabella saw through Michael.
She could only see his true colors when it came to divorce.
He even wanted to count the money spent on clothes?
Biting her lip, Isabella decided to leave the suitcase behind, "Since it's all the Brown Family's money, I don't want it anymore."
Isabella pushed Michael aside and was about to leave, but he grabbed her wrist tightly, his eyes darkening, "If you want to leave, take off the clothes you're wearing too!"
Isabella couldn't believe what she was hearing.
Michael meant that if she wanted to leave, she could only do so naked.
"Michael, say that again!" Isabella's face turned pale with anger. Both of them were furious, and neither was willing to back down.
Neither was willing to be the one to lower their head.
Bianca was just downstairs. He was deliberately trying to embarrass her.
This wasn't just making things difficult for her; it was a complete humiliation.
