Chapter 132

Outside the conference room, Isabella stood by the hallway window.

Jerry stormed out of the room in a hurry, not noticing Isabella's presence.

Inside, Austin was still speaking, his tone serious, "Look at his attitude. If he doesn't want to be a teacher, he can submit his resignation, and I'll approve it. Don't try to scare me with those hypocritical tactics; they won't work."

Isabella recognized Austin, the vice principal. He had always been highly regarded at the school, a good teacher who genuinely cared about the students.

But she had no impression of Jerry, who had just spoken.

Back when she was at the school, she wasn't a music student, but judging by the current situation, it seemed a series of disputes had arisen because of her.

The fact that she was invited to teach at Evergreen City University had surprised her when she first heard it.

Nolan had only mentioned that she should come to interact with the students. But he hadn't said anything about her staying on as a teacher?

Given that her presence had sparked unanimous opposition from the school's teachers, she decided to wait until things settled down before asking Nolan.

She had intended to go for a walk, but upon hearing the conversation inside about her, Isabella decided to sit outside.

She listened to the voices coming from the room.

The hallway was quiet, and Austin's voice was clearly audible. "Let me reiterate, I won't stop anyone who wants to leave. Each of you has the right to express your opinions and ideas. But I must make one thing clear: I have never used my position for personal gain. You can investigate all you want. I won't change my decision about the new teacher over a minor issue."

The people inside looked at each other, none daring to be the first to speak.

At this moment, a young male teacher sitting towards the back suddenly stood up, straightened his back, and spoke, "Mr. Roberts, our Evergreen City University is a top-ranked university in the country, and the music department is a dream destination for music students nationwide. How could you do that?"

"Mr. Brown has three years of teaching experience at top foreign institutions and has won numerous awards and certificates that command respect. But what about this Ms. Taylor you mentioned? What qualifications does she have? She only knows a bit about music. What right does she have to be a teacher at Evergreen City University?" His words instantly sparked a chorus of agreement from the others.

"Exactly, what does she know about music? Isn't she just relying on her family's wealth and influence to gain higher social status by teaching at the school?"

"Mr. Roberts, I also disagree with someone like her becoming a teacher. We've worked for years to get to where we are today. What right does she have to hold the same position as us? Does she deserve it?"

"If just anyone can become a teacher, then what do our decades of effort mean? Besides, the piece she played was released online. Who knows if it was synthesized online?"

"Exactly, the piece she's playing is of the highest caliber. As an ordinary person, she wouldn't even understand it, let alone play it with the right feeling. I doubt even the most renowned Georges Parker could play it."

Isabella listened quietly and finally understood the issue.

It turned out that these music teachers were full of resentment because she could directly become a teacher at the school.

She raised her eyebrows; she didn't care at all about being a music teacher, nor did she care about their doubts. After all, she never played the piano to gain everyone's approval.

But if they dared to question her teacher Georges, that was a different matter.

She could lose face, but Georges couldn't.

Just as she was about to get up and "prove" herself, a heavy slap on the table silenced the chaotic arguments.

"Have you all said enough?" Austin's voice came through. "I understand your doubts and dissatisfaction, but I have already invited Ms. Taylor on behalf of the school. If anyone still doubts her abilities, I have a solution: give her a one-month trial period. If, after a month, the majority still disagree or do not recognize Ms. Taylor's abilities, then this matter will end here. Our school will not allow someone without ability to stay, and I believe Ms. Taylor will leave gracefully."

This was the most prudent solution, as it protected the school's interests and didn't waste a musical talent. The two rows of people below had nothing to say.

They didn't believe Isabella was truly a musical genius, so they just wanted to wait for her to join the school and then make her realize how difficult it was. For someone without ability, she wouldn't last a day, let alone a month, at the school.

Hearing this, Isabella, who had been about to get up, suddenly changed her mind and sat back down.

She hadn't even agreed to come as a teacher, and these people already saw her as an imaginary enemy?

If she really came, these people would be thinking of ways to trouble her every day.

But this could be interesting. She wondered who would be more "embarrassed" in the end.

At the same time, at the Brown Group, Aaron walked in with his phone, and Michael looked up at him. "Have you contacted her? When is she coming?"

Aaron's mouth twitched, not daring to tell the truth, fearing Michael's anger would affect him.

"She doesn't want to come?" Michael's tone deepened. "This is a company project. As the CEO, she can't possibly ignore the group's interests, can she? I'll go find her!"

"Mr. Brown, Mrs. Brown is not at the company." Aaron hesitated for a moment before telling the truth. "The Wilson Group replied that Mrs. Brown went to Evergreen City University early this morning and temporarily handed over the company's matters to Emilio."

Hearing that, Michael's face turned grim.

But he quickly caught the key point in Aaron's words. "What is she doing at Evergreen City University?"

Aaron trembled all over, not daring to speak.

But Michael's imposing presence pressed down on him like a mountain. "What's going on? Speak!"

Aaron didn't dare to hide anything, "Have you forgotten that the school in the country that invited Mr. Nolan Brown to be a music professor is Evergreen City University?"

Michael's brow twitched violently.

He usually didn't care about Nolan's affairs, but this coincidence made him more inclined to believe it was intentional.

Isabella had left the company's matters behind to go to Evergreen City University early in the morning just to find Nolan.

Since Nolan returned to the country, Isabella couldn't wait to be by his side every day.

Michael stood up abruptly, grabbed his coat, and headed out. "You're coming with me!"

"Where to?" Aaron didn't quite understand.

Michael coldly threw out a sentence. "Evergreen City University!"

The black luxury car sped down the road, and in the back seat, Michael, with a cold face, dialed a number.

Isabella's phone was on vibrate, so it didn't attract the attention of those inside.

Seeing the familiar number, Isabella smiled and hesitant to answer.

In order to keep Michael from bothering her later, she decided to answer it.

After a few seconds, the call connected, and Michael's resentment came through the phone. "Where are you?"
