Chapter 136
Hearing this, Kian explained, "Thomas, don't waste time. This medicine was prescribed by someone I know at the hospital. It's a small dose, no side effects, just to help Isabella get a good night's sleep."
Holden chimed in, "With the strength of the five of us, how long could it take to beat up Michael? By the time Isabella wakes up, we'll be done."
"Quick and decisive!" Atticus commanded.
Hearing this, Thomas nodded.
He tucked Isabella in and got up to leave.
Today's plan had been discussed early in the morning. Michael had bullied Isabella for so long, and as her uncles, they had to stand up for her.
Even though they knew this behavior was against the law, they couldn't care less if it meant giving Michael a good beating.
Meanehile, at the CEO's office of the Brown Group, Michael woke up from a light nap on the couch , his eyes tinged with a faint blue and his face pale.
Harper was still in a precarious situation, and she was the prime suspect in the death of Grace. He had to take it seriously.
He hadn't slept all night, waiting until 3 a.m. for the doctor to say Harper was out of danger before returning to the office.
But he forgot, he himself was a patient.
The wound on his waist hadn't fully healed, and he had strained himself to attend Isabella's birthday party yesterday.
He had stayed up half the night again, and now he could barely sit, let alone work.
When Aaron came in to report, he was startled by Michael's poor condition. "Mr. Brown, are you okay? You should go to the hospital; your injury can't take this kind of strain."
Aaron knew about Michael's injury; he had tried to persuade Michael last night, but Michael had been adamant.
"I'm fine." Michael shook his head, signaling Aaron not to ask further.
He knew his own body. If he went back to the hospital now, the doctors would insist on admitting him.
He had too many things to handle personally and couldn't afford to waste time in the hospital.
"Bring me the painkillers," Michael ordered.
Aaron hesitated but eventually took the medicine from the drawer and handed it to Michael.
Michael had just swallowed the pills when he heard a commotion outside, with a heavy footsteps approaching his office.
Before Aaron could open the door, Atticus pushed it open.
Seeing the imposing and tall men, Aaron was startled.
But he quickly recognized them, who were Isabella's uncles.
"Aaron, go make some tea!"
Aaron nodded repeatedly, knowing they were here to cause trouble but still trying to give Michael a chance to call for help.
All five sons of the Wilson family were here; no one could stop them, expect for Isabella.
"What would you like to drink? I'll prepare it right away." Aaron asked cautiously.
"No need, we're not here for tea. This has nothing to do with you. Close the door and pretend you heard nothing." Holden's tone was low, with an unmistakable threat.
Hearing that, Aaron was stunned.
He only left when Michael waved him off, realizing he had to find someone to help Michael.
Orion locked the door and looked at Michael sitting on the couch.
Atticus had already walked up to Michael, sitting down slowly with his four tall brothers standing behind him, exuding pressure.
"Michael, we're here for one thing: when do you plan to divorce Isabella?" Atticus, the stern eldest brother at home, was a commanding presence outside, so just one sentence from him was enough to make anyone feel suffocated.
They had seen Isabella's suffering over the past three years.
Now, seeing Isabella being pressured to have another child with Michael for the sake of family interests, they couldn't stand it.
Why should Michael discard Isabella when he didn't want her and then use family ties to bind her when he did?
They had already decided to file for divorce immediately and find Isabella a new boyfriend.
Michael understood their intentions.
But they were Isabella's uncles, his elders, and some things had to be discussed.
"Uncle Atticus, I think there's been a misunderstanding. Isabella and I don't plan to divorce. Moreover, we recently did a pre-pregnancy checkup. We believe we'll soon have our own child," Michael said.
"Michael, don't you feel guilty saying that?" Kian couldn't stand it anymore, frowning as he questioned, "Don't think that by getting the elders of both families to pressure Isabella into having a child, you can keep her by your side forever. My dad may want Isabella to have a child, but none of us five will agree to you staying with Isabella."
He made it very clear that even if Isabella accidentally got pregnant, the child could stay, but Michael had no right to keep with Isabella.
Holden and Orion looked at Michael with anger.
Michael dared to bully Isabella; they wouldn't let it slide.
Only Thomas hadn't expressed his opinion yet.
Seeing Michael look at him, Thomas sneered. "Mr. Brown, you have a poor memory. Isabella's divorce case is still with my legal team, ready to be filed at any time."
Hearing that, the light in Michael's eyes dimmed completely.
Indeed, from the beginning, Thomas had wanted to separate him and Isabella.
At this moment, the usually low-key Orion spoke coldly, "Mr. Brown, we're not here to make things difficult for you. Isabella gave up everything to marry you, and we were against it before, but she truly loved you. But what did you do? You neglected her for three years and humiliated her in front of other women. If this marriage doesn't end, wouldn't we, as her uncles, we really feel humiliated."
The room fell silent, and everyone was waiting for Michael's response.
Michael's throat moved, but he couldn't say a word.
Atticus, unable to bear it any longer, slammed his hand on the table. "Michael, be straightforward. Don't put on an act in front of us!"
