Chapter 167
The more Isabella listened, the more she felt that her knowledge was too superficial.
Nolan's affirmation made her feel guilty. She was afraid she would disappoint him.
After all, she only knew a few simple things, and they were without any theoretical logic.
The sound of a vibrating phone was noticed in the silent classroom.
Sensing everyone's gaze turned towards her, Isabella hurriedly covered the phone, her face turning red.
She had come in a hurry and forgot to put her phone on silent.
Seeing the call was from Thomas, she nodded apologetically towards Nolan on the podium and quickly left the classroom.
Moreover, she saw that there were several missed calls from five different uncles, all made when she had just entered the classroom.
It was noisy at that time, so she didn't notice.
Realizing there must be something serious, she quickly answered, "Uncle Thomas, is something wrong?"
"Isabella, are you with Michael right now?" Thomas' voice was urgent, as if he was in a hurry.
Isabella thought Thomas was urging her to go on a blind date again and replied, "No, Uncle Thomas, I'm not with him."
'Why would Uncle Thomas suddenly ask about Michael? Could it be that they had some plan against him again?' Isabella couldn't help but thought.
"Isabella." Thomas on the other end of the line seemed to have difficulty speaking, and after a long pause, he only called her name, even his voice becoming hoarse.
But the matter was urgent, he had to speak, "I have something to tell you, but you must promise not to get emotional, not to cry, okay?"
Hearing that, Isabella felt a pang of anxiety.
Although she didn't understand why Thomas was saying this, she calmly replied, "Okay, Uncle Thomas, go ahead."
Her worst fear was that her uncles had found out she was with Michael last night. If necessary, she could act spoiled; they loved her and wouldn't really want to see her upset.
But this time, she seemed to have underestimated the situation.
As soon as Thomas spoke, Isabella felt her mind go blank.
Thomas said, "Isabella, your grandpa has found out about your divorce with Michael, and now he's in the operating room. We don't know who left a phone in front of him, and he happened to see the rumors about your divorce. He even watched a few videos, and he got so angry that he had a heart attack."
"Isabella, are you still listening?" Thomas' voice brought Isabella back to reality. She pinched her palm, trying hard not to cry.
"Uncle Thomas, how is Grandpa now?"
Isabella was most afraid of Daniel knowing about these things and affecting his health.
Now, because of her, Daniel was seriously ill, which was more painful than killing her.
Thomas sighed and told her the truth, "The hospital has issued a critical condition notice. Fortunately, Dr. Gray has arrived. We are all here. Come quickly."
"Drive safely," Thomas added.
"Okay." Isabella hung up and ran outside.
'Grandpa, you must be okay. You always wanted me to have a child, your wish hasn't come true yet, how can you leave me like this?' She thought to herself.
She grew up with Daniel, and he was her biggest support.
Although she always caused trouble outside, she knew in her heart that it was because Daniel was there. As long as she came home, he would tolerate all her little tantrums.
Daniel would affectionately call her and wave her over. "Come here, let me see if you're hurt anywhere."
If Daniel was gone, she would go crazy.
Tears uncontrollably streamed down her face. Isabella's hands trembled as she started the car, gritting her teeth and counting the time until she reached the hospital.
In the hallway, her five uncles were all standing outside the operating room.
Seeing her arrive, Atticus came over and patted her shoulder, telling her not to worry, but anyone could see the heavy concern on their faces. They just didn't want her to be too sad.
But the more they did this, the more Isabella regretted and hated herself.
Daniel cared about her the most and didn't want her to get divorced.
But she was disobedient, doing one impulsive thing after another behind his back.
She even made the divorce public, making everyone laugh at them.
If time could go back, she wouldn't care if Michael threw a hundred birthday parties for Bianca.
Even if they divorced, she should have kept it a secret, not letting the outside world know.
That way, Daniel wouldn't be in this situation today.
He wouldn't be critically ill because of the consequences of her momentary satisfaction.
All these things eventually became a fuse to make Daniel Daniel critically ill.
If something really happened to Daniel, she should be the one to blame.
Just as Isabella was about to collapse, Michael quickly ran towards her.
He asked them, "How is Grandpa now? Where's the doctor?"
Isabella recognized his voice, but her body couldn't respond, not even wanting to look at him.
She only prayed to God for a chance to make amends.
As long as Daniel was okay, she was willing to trade anything.
"Mr. Brown, my dad's situation is none of your concern. This is a Wilson family matter. Please leave!" Atticus frowned, maintaining the last bit of dignity.
But Michael had no intention of leaving, who looked at Isabella with eyes full of concern, thinking she must be very scared right now.
"Isabella, I..." Michael nervously walked towards her, but Isabella suddenly stepped back, looking at him with anger and hatred.
She hadn't forgotten that not long ago, he was openly flirting with Violet in front of the whole school.
The fear and worry that had built up exploded at this moment. Isabella, with red eyes, pointed angrily at Michael. "Leave! You're not welcome here. Grandpa is in the operating room because of us, and you still want to come and provoke him? Or do you hope something happens to him so you can be with those women outside?"
Isabella was hurt to the extreme, her fingers trembling.
Michael felt a sharp pain in his heart; her words were like knives stabbing him.
But he wouldn't leave, knowing she was just too upset to think straight.
"Isabella, I never thought that way. Grandpa is my elder too; how could I wish for something to happen to him?" Michael explained.
