Chapter 171

"I can, I want to give her a better life."

Michael explained with a bitter smile, "Actually, Daniel, now I can't leave her. I can't stand seeing her with another man, but I've hurt her too deeply. She might not forgive me for a while."

This time, Daniel no longer doubted the sincerity in Michael's words.

He understood Isabella's personality too well.

She truly loves, but if she gets hurt, she has the determination to let go.

But he could see that these two had feelings for each other.

They just weren't willing to express it easily.

Over time, even the deepest feelings can have problems.

"If there's something you can't say, I can help convey it."

Daniel genuinely wanted to help them avoid detours. Although he shouldn't interfere in young people's affairs, this was about Isabella.

He couldn't help but worry.

But Michael was a man with his own opinions and spirit. He knew that feelings couldn't be helped by others. He wanted to win Isabella back through his own efforts.

"Thank you, Daniel, but I want to do it myself."

Michael politely declined Daniel.

Daniel had already helped him many times. If it weren't for him bringing up the idea of having a child last time, Isabella wouldn't still be entangled with him.

Isabella didn't want to disappoint Daniel, which gave him this opportunity.

Now, because of his divorce from Isabella, Daniel was so angry. If Daniel didn't find someone to beat him up, it was already saving face for him. How could he dare to trouble Daniel further?

"Daniel, I now know my feelings for Isabella. I just want to take it slow with her. As for whether she will accept me again..."

"It depends on whether God gives me this chance."

He wouldn't let her go again.

His wife would only be Isabella, no one else.

As long as he persisted in staying by her side, even with Nolan around, he wasn't afraid. Sooner or later, her heart would only have room for him.

Seeing Michael's firm refusal, Daniel wanted to say something but feared hurting his pride.

Daniel sighed and let him be.

He had already offered his help, but Michael didn't want it.

In the future, if Michael couldn't win Isabella back, he couldn't blame him.

After all, he still cared for Isabella. Letting Michael suffer a bit might be good.

The two had reached a tacit agreement in the hospital room.

Unbeknownst to them, Isabella was already anxiously waiting in the hallway outside.

She didn't know what Michael was talking to Daniel about alone. It had been so long, and they still hadn't come out?

The hospital's facilities were excellent, and she couldn't hear a thing standing at the door.

Daniel had just woken up, and the doctor said he needed rest. What if Michael said something that upset Daniel?

The longer she waited, the more anxious she became. Isabella regretted agreeing to let Michael talk alone.

What could he possibly need to say without her?

Just as Isabella was about to knock on the door, it opened from the inside.

Michael's handsome face appeared before her.

Atticus glared at Michael and quickly went into the room to see Daniel.

The other uncles followed. They hadn't dared to interrupt earlier, but now that things were settled, it was their turn to talk to Daniel.

Isabella followed Michael to the window.

With her uncles with Daniel, she wasn't worried. Instead, she was curious about what Michael had discussed with Daniel.

"Michael, does Grandpa believe in our reconciliation now?"

Isabella went straight to the point.

Seeing her anxious expression, Michael felt a pang of sadness. She had never seemed so concerned about him.

But he wouldn't be jealous of Daniel.

He composed himself and said, "It's settled. Daniel won't doubt our relationship anymore."

"Really?"

Isabella was skeptical, "What did you do to convince Grandpa?"

She wasn't stupid, and Daniel wasn't easily fooled.

Michael smirked, "Of course, I used 'actions' to speak. Daniel said that as long as we have a child, he will believe."

Isabella was speechless.

Her face turned red instantly.

She thought Michael had come up with a good plan, but they were back to the topic of having a child.

But it made sense. If they had a child, their relationship wouldn't be questioned.

However, this meant she had to move back in with Michael, spend every day with him, and fulfill her duties as a wife every night.

"What, you don't want to? Or do you have a better idea?"

As Michael spoke, he leaned down, his warm breath tickling her ear, making her shiver.

Just as Isabella was about to move away, Michael pulled her into his arms, "Isabella, stop it. Come home with me."

Isabella's heart raced. To hide it, she quickly pushed him away.

Reluctantly, she said, "Got it."

Then she ran off as if escaping.

She couldn't afford to have any close contact with him now. Michael seemed to have an electric touch that made her lose her ability to think.

After leaving the hall, she suddenly remembered something.

She had been so preoccupied with Michael that she almost forgot about Harper.

She quickly called Jesse to check on the hospital situation.

Jesse reported, "Ms. Taylor, Harper was transferred from the ICU to a regular ward yesterday. But strangely, although her vitals are normal, she remains unconscious."

Isabella, fearing Harper might cause more trouble, instructed Jesse to keep a close watch and report any changes immediately.

But no one noticed that as Jesse stepped out with his phone, a woman in a black trench coat and sunglasses quietly entered the ward.

Seeing the lifeless Harper on the bed, the woman clenched her fists tightly.

Because the person lying there was her biological mother, Harper.

And she was Bianca, with a new identity.

She had investigated everything. Indigo was in prison, Harper was gravely injured and unconscious, and it was all related to Isabella.

Isabella had caused her to be sent to Auroria by Michael, and now she wouldn't even spare her family.

Isabella!

She would definitely seek revenge.

After calming down outside, Isabella returned to the hospital room.

Michael hadn't lied to her.

When Daniel saw her, his first words were to tell her to go home with Michael and live well.

Listening to Daniel's advice and looking at Michael standing beside her, Isabella could only nod, "I will, Grandpa."

Daniel's spirits had improved, so Isabella went back to Michael's villa with him.

But Michael didn't get out of the car. He had other matters to attend to and just dropped her off.

It wasn't until evening that she heard the sound of a car engine stopping outside.
