Chapter 176
One person returned to the villa and sat on the sofa in the living room.
Isabella gradually calmed down.
Thinking about how she had just questioned Michael in front of everyone, accusing him of being Harper's accomplice, gave her a headache.
She had been really angry just now, which is why she vented her anger on him without thinking.
But when she calmed down and thought about it, Michael couldn't possibly have done such a thing.
With his skills and power, if he wanted to help Harper escape, he wouldn't have waited until now.
On the day she had Harper locked up in the hospital, Michael could have easily forged a fake death certificate to deceive everyone, making it impossible for her to find Harper.
Moreover, that night he stayed at the hospital with injuries, guarding her all night.
She really shouldn't have wronged him without distinguishing right from wrong.
But at that time, she was so desperate to catch Harper herself that she couldn't control her emotions.
Suddenly, there was the sound of a car outside.
Michael was back.
He had already arranged everything at the hospital and rushed back because he was worried about Isabella.
Her emotions were unstable, and he was concerned she might overthink things alone.
Opening the door, he saw Isabella sitting alone in the living room, her eyes no longer filled with the impulsiveness and anger from earlier, but with clarity and calmness.
After all, she was Daniel's personally trained successor, able to control her emotions at will.
"Why are you back?"
Isabella asked him calmly, "How's the investigation going? Any leads?"
Michael looked at her in surprise, a slight smile forming at the corner of his mouth, "So now you believe I'm not the culprit?"
Isabella immediately felt guilty, "I just lost control for a moment."
"So you can just wrongfully accuse others?"
Before she could finish, Michael retorted.
Isabella felt even more embarrassed to argue.
After all, she was the one at fault.
"I was just too anxious, that's why I acted that way. Don't be mad at me."
In the end, she didn't even realize that she was unconsciously acting coquettishly, seeking his forgiveness.
Michael's anger had already dissipated the moment he saw her.
But he couldn't let it go just like that, or she might do it again next time.
"Is that it? You don't even have a sincere apology!"
Seeing her act coquettishly, Michael felt a tickle in his heart.
He wanted to hear more soft words from her.
After all, opportunities to make her yield were rare.
"Then tell me, what will it take for you to forgive me?"
She had said what needed to be said and had lowered her head. What more did he want?
Did he want her to kneel and beg for forgiveness?
"Isabella, look at me!"
Michael became serious, staring into her eyes, "From now on, no matter what happens, you must unconditionally trust me, got it?"
Isabella's heart trembled, and she nodded, "I got it."
She agreed not because she was intimidated by Michael's demeanor.
But because she didn't want him to keep pestering her to apologize. Their relationship had always started with arguments and ended with cold wars.
How was she supposed to know how to coax him or how to make him forgive her?
Seeing her like this, Michael was satisfied, made a sound of approval, and picked Isabella up, heading towards the bedroom.
Isabella nestled in his arms, wrapping her arms around his neck, eagerly asking, "By the way, you haven't told me how you arranged things at the hospital?"
"Did you find any clues?"
Before she could finish speaking, she was tucked into the warm bed, and then pulled into Michael's chest.
"Sleep!"
After a night of turmoil and forcibly restraining his desires, he had no other thoughts now, just wanting to hold her and sleep well.
"No way!"
Isabella's mind was filled with thoughts about Harper's disappearance. If he didn't say something, how could she sleep?
"Michael, just give me a hint. I just want to know the current situation."
The moment her eyes were covered, Isabella felt her senses magnify infinitely.
Michael's husky voice sounded in her ear, "Be good, sleep with me for a while, and I'll tell you everything when you wake up."
Isabella wanted to say something more, but Michael's steady breathing was already beside her.
He was too tired and fell asleep quickly holding her.
Isabella, helpless and unable to struggle out of his embrace, simply maintained her position in his arms and closed her eyes, lightly sleeping for a while.
Before long, she fell into a deep sleep.
When she woke up, it was already eight in the morning.
Instinctively, she looked to her side, but Michael's spot was already empty, with no sign of him.
Isabella gritted her teeth and pounded his pillow with her fist.
"Liar, he said he'd tell her about the doctor's situation when she woke up, but now he's gone."
She shouldn't have believed him!
Suddenly, her phone beeped.
Someone had sent her a message.
It was from Michael, "Heat up your breakfast yourself. I'll handle things at the hospital. You don't need to worry. I've also added more people to your side."
Only he could say such domineering words.
But the more Isabella thought about it, the angrier she got. She was the daughter of the Wilson Family, when did she fall to the point of needing Michael's protection?
And by Michael's people?
She didn't need that!
Moreover, he sent the message as soon as she woke up. Was he protecting her or monitoring her?
Isabella got up, tidied herself, and immediately called Jesse and the bodyguards who were at the hospital.
Last night, she was too anxious to listen to what they had to say, only blaming them.
Now she needed to sort out the events.
Finding Harper was the priority.
Jesse and the others arrived quickly, even before Isabella finished her breakfast.
They stood in a line in the living room, waiting for Isabella's instructions.
Though they stood far away, Isabella noticed their faces were uniformly pale.
It seemed that after she left last night, they had all been punished.
This was the Wilson Family's rule, and even Jesse was no exception.
After all, Harper had escaped under their watch, and the blame was on them.
Isabella wouldn't interfere. She finished the breakfast Michael had made and sat down in front of them.
"I called you here because I have some questions. When Harper disappeared from the hospital, did you see anyone suspicious?"
Jesse, as her head bodyguard, had more responsibilities than just this, but since Isabella had entrusted this matter to him, he couldn't escape the blame even if he wasn't on the scene.
So, Isabella called everyone over.
Her goal was to find out where the problem lay.
Catching Harper was the priority.
Jesse spoke first, "Ms. Taylor, it was indeed my oversight. When you called me yesterday, Harper was still in the ward. But when I returned, she was gone."
"We checked the surveillance and all the exits, but couldn't find her."
