Chapter 177

Jesse's loyalty and ability were never doubted by Isabella.

"Then how did Harper disappear? She couldn't have just vanished into thin air, right?"

Isabella squinted her eyes and turned her gaze to the other three people besides Jesse. "You were guarding outside the ward. It's impossible that you didn't notice anything?"

The bodyguards shuddered, and one of them replied, "Ms. Taylor, we were taking turns to grab something to eat, but we made sure there was always someone at the door."

"But somehow, when we looked into the ward in the middle of the night, we found that Harper was gone!"

They were telling the truth.

Harper, a living person, disappeared right in front of them, and they were puzzled too.

But the fact was right in front of them, and they had no choice but to believe it.

Isabella rubbed her chin, puzzled. "Besides nurses and doctors, who else could have had access to Harper?"

Isabella was lost in her thoughts, but her words reminded Jesse.

He turned to ask the other three, "Have you seen any strangers in your area at the hospital in the past two days?"

Although Harper wasn't in a vegetative state, she was unable to take care of herself, so the ward was surrounded by critically ill patients with caregivers or family members.

If a stranger appeared, the bodyguards would have noticed.

"Mr. Turner, there was indeed such a person."

Isabella's eyes lit up and she urged him to describe the person's appearance.

"Yesterday afternoon, after Mr. Turner left, a woman in a white dress, with long hair and sunglasses, appeared outside the ward. When we approached her, she said she had entered the wrong ward and quickly left."

The bodyguard recalled the scene, "But I felt her expression was a bit strange."

"How was it strange?"

Isabella pressed on.

For some reason, when she heard about the long dress and long hair, the first person that came to her mind was Bianca.

But then she remembered that Bianca had been sent to Auroria by Michael, so she dismissed the thought.

However, there was another person who gave her a similar feeling, and that was Violet, who had caused trouble at her birthday party.

She also had long straight hair and liked to wear long dresses.

The bodyguard continued, "The woman seemed to be crying when she came out. When she saw us, she quickly put on her sunglasses and left."

His words reminded Isabella.

No wonder she always felt that Violet seemed familiar, but she couldn't pinpoint why.

Now that she thought about it, it all made sense.

Violet was Bianca.

Violet was proficient in piano, had an obsession with Michael, and even shed tears for Harper.

Who else could it be but Bianca?

Harper was her biological mother. Seeing Harper lying in the hospital bed, how could she remain indifferent?

But how did Bianca become Violet? The two looked completely different.

Even if she had plastic surgery, Bianca couldn't have recovered so quickly without any traces.

Although she had a conclusion in her mind, it was still just her speculation.

She had no evidence to prove that Violet was Bianca.

She had to see this Violet in person.

Violet was at Evergreen City University. Isabella had Jesse take the others and drove straight to Evergreen City University.

She wanted to see for herself if this student Violet, brought back from abroad by Nolan, was her sister Bianca, who had been sent to Auroria, or if she was simply Violet.

Evergreen City University had become quite famous because she and Michael had both appeared there yesterday, attracting many reporters.

They were waiting at the entrance, hoping to capture a picture of the two together.

After all, their divorce was a hot topic online.

If they could capture something, it would immediately make the headlines.

Who wouldn't want such fame and fortune?

When Isabella arrived at the school and saw the scene, she put on her sunglasses to cover her face.

Fortunately, the security guard at the gate recognized her car and quickly let her in.

As she drove past the gate, some conversations drifted in from outside.

Isabella deliberately slowed down the car.

"I heard Michael came to the school early in the morning and went to the music department. I wonder who he's looking for?"

"Are you sure you saw correctly? Mr. Brown was invited by Evergreen City University to give a lecture to the finance department. Why would he go there?"

"I'm not mistaken. Mr. Brown did go to the music department. I heard he was looking for Isabella. She was hired as a music teacher by Evergreen City University. Maybe they've reconciled."

"Really? I thought they were on the verge of divorce. How could they have reconciled? Are they just playing with the netizens?"

"Who knows? But don't you think the news about their divorce has disappeared online recently?"

With a press of the gas pedal, the car drove into the campus.

The discussions stopped abruptly for Isabella.

She wasn't interested in their conversation, but what was Michael doing here?

Wasn't his lecture over yesterday?

She shook her head, dismissing the thought. She was here to find Violet.

She had been here yesterday and knew where the music department was.

Isabella found Violet in the piano room.

It was lunchtime, and the students were not around.

Only Violet was sitting in front of the piano, lightly playing a love song.

Isabella leaned against the door frame, watching her.

She should have realized it sooner.

How could Violet play the piano so well when she was just a student?

Bianca, as a music special recruit, had been sent abroad by Harper for further studies three years ago and returned with the title of a piano prodigy.

No wonder Violet dared to challenge her at her birthday party. It was because Violet had the confidence.

When the piece ended, Violet, in a pink and white dress, seemed to notice Isabella for the first time and politely stood up, asking, "I was too absorbed and didn't notice Ms. Taylor's presence."

"Is there something Ms. Taylor needs?"

Isabella coldly curled her lips, not wanting to waste words.

She directly stated her purpose, "Violet, I'm here to see you today!"

"Oh?"

Violet smiled, her expression showing no surprise, only a nonchalant smile. "I don't have such a deep connection with Ms. Taylor. What do you need from me?"

Isabella glanced around and raised an eyebrow. "It's not convenient to talk here. How about I treat Ms. Cooper to a meal, and we can chat over food?"

This Violet was calmer than she had expected.

Isabella could only test her.

If she was really Bianca, she would be guilty and wouldn't dare to agree.

But Violet smiled proudly at her, "I'm sorry, but I have an appointment later. He's very important to me, so I apologize, Ms. Taylor."

Violet's words said she was sorry, but her eyes showed no apology. Instead, she looked at Isabella with a face full of pride.

As she finished speaking, she seemed to see someone, and her eyes lit up.

Isabella turned around and saw Michael in a well-tailored suit.
