Chapter 199
Seeing that she didn't catch the meaning behind his words at all.
Michael took a deep breath, "I told you to call him, so you should call him. You care so much about him. I said we shouldn't get a divorce, why don't you listen to me?"
Isabella was speechless.
She didn't care about Nolan, who was good to her. Should she care about Violet instead?
"Michael, can you stop being unreasonable? Nolan left, so of course, I need to ask why. What does that have to do with whether we get a divorce or not?"
"Give me my phone back, I want to go home."
She didn't want to explain these things to Michael. Right now, she just wanted to go back. Atticus and Olivia were still waiting for her at the villa.
If they knew she sneaked out, they would be very worried.
"Go home?"
Hearing that she still wanted to leave him, Michael's face darkened even more, "Isabella, without my permission, you are not allowed to leave my side."
Nolan had just left, and she couldn't wait to leave even for a minute.
Who knows if she was finding an excuse to go out and meet Nolan.
He wouldn't give them that chance.
"Michael, are you being reasonable? I am not your appendage. You can't control my freedom."
Isabella angrily stepped forward to grab her phone, but Michael pulled her into his arms with a backhand.
"Let go of me, we're outside. What do you want to do?"
Since the last incident, Isabella was particularly averse to physical contact with Michael.
Michael, however, didn't care and picked her up, his eyes determined, "Aren't you feeling disgusted? Then let's go to the hospital for a check-up and see if I have the male health issues you mentioned."
Hearing about going to the hospital, Isabella immediately felt nervous.
"I don't want to go. I already said it's my stomach that's uncomfortable. I want to go home. There's no need for a check-up."
She struggled desperately against him, but it was all in vain.
"Whether it's needed or not, it's not up to you. I need to see the results."
Michael carried her out of the restaurant, attracting countless stares along the way, but he didn't care.
It wasn't until they got into the car, with no chance for Isabella to escape, that Michael's expression softened a bit.
He leaned over to help her fasten her seatbelt, and his considerate gesture made Isabella pause for a moment.
But thinking about his domineering behavior in the private room just now, she was left with only disgust for him.
Seeing him start the car and head towards the hospital, Isabella frowned helplessly.
"How many times do I have to say it? I'm not pregnant. It's just my stomach that's uncomfortable. I just want to go home."
She had been feeling this way for the past few days, with no appetite, and hadn't even considered the possibility of being pregnant.
Michael making such a fuss about going to the hospital, if she wasn't pregnant, wouldn't it be a joke?
It would also affect her emotionally.
"No way!"
"The check-up must be done. It's been almost two months since our first time, and we haven't used any contraception since. What if there's a baby in your belly now?"
Isabella was stunned.
She never expected Michael to remember the exact time of their first time so clearly.
But his reminder made her realize something was off.
At the villa, she had used her period as an excuse to fool Olivia, but now that she thought about it, her period was already a week late.
What if she was really pregnant? What would she do?
Thinking about it, she couldn't help but touch her still-flat belly, unable to imagine a baby growing there.
Her emotions started to change.
She had once hoped for this, to have a cute baby with Michael after marriage.
If it was a boy, he would be a mini version of Michael.
If it was a girl, she would raise her as a little princess, never letting her suffer as she did.
Thinking about having a child and Michael by her side, such a life seemed beautiful and happy.
But now, all her dreams had shattered.
She no longer thought about any possibilities with Michael.
Just now, she was thinking about divorcing Michael. If she was really pregnant, what should she do?
"Michael, if there really is a baby, what do you plan to do?"
Having this baby was something Isabella had mentally prepared for a long time. She wanted to know his current attitude.
"Have the baby. It would be our first child!"
Michael looked ahead, his firm words came out without hesitation.
For years, the idea of having children had been met with resistance due to Aiden's constant urging. The more Aiden pushed, the less he wanted it.
But now, knowing that Isabella might be carrying his child, his first reaction was excitement. He was thrilled to have a continuation of his bloodline.
He even had a thought.
If Isabella was pregnant with his child, would she stop liking Nolan and focus on him instead?
Seeing Isabella pursing her lips and not speaking, Michael's heart tightened.
He thought she didn't want the baby.
He quickly used the two elders at home as an excuse.
"Isabella, you know how much Daniel and Grandpa are looking forward to this baby. I've worked hard for so long to prepare for this. If you dare to say you don't want this baby now, I will be the first to disagree."
"You better give up that idea."
Isabella glanced at Michael beside her, sighed helplessly.
If it wasn't for the fact that the baby wasn't confirmed yet, she really wanted to ask him.
The baby is in her belly, what did he work hard for?
But Isabella knew Michael. When he was shameless, she couldn't resist him at all.
Better to let it go.
If he said something she couldn't stand, she would be the one left speechless.
"Michael, what are you going crazy about? Did I say I didn't want the baby?"
Isabella paused, "Besides, it's not certain if I'm pregnant. We haven't even reached the hospital. What's the point of saying all this?"
The results weren't out yet, and he was already making conclusions?
Michael didn't say anything more.
The car soon arrived at the hospital.
Michael got out and opened the car door for Isabella, and they both went into the obstetrics and gynecology examination room.
In the restroom, Isabella looked at the pregnancy test stick showing a positive result and was momentarily stunned.
She was pregnant!
"Isabella, are you done?"
Michael, anxious outside, called out at the door, ignoring the stares of others.
After a moment, she walked out holding the pregnancy test stick.
For the next while, Isabella felt like she was floating, as if walking on clouds.
She couldn't hear what others were saying clearly.
She only knew that someone was always supporting her, holding her hand, listening seriously to the doctor's instructions and precautions.
It wasn't until they left the hospital, breathing in the fresh air, that Isabella's mood gradually calmed down.
Sitting in the car, she unconsciously touched her flat belly, feeling it was incredible.
There, a child belonging to her was growing.
