Chapter 216
Meanwhile, in the Brown Family hall.
Aiden was just being polite, but he didn't expect Isabella to actually stay. Not only that, she wanted to have dinner with him before leaving.
Aiden was so anxious that he almost jumped up.
If he had known, he wouldn't have been so polite to Isabella and would have let her go home to rest earlier. Then he wouldn't be stuck here now.
Now, he felt embarrassed to ask Isabella to leave, while Isabella, feeling guilty, wanted to spend more time with Aiden.
After all, she had nothing to do at home, so she might as well have dinner with Aiden as a form of compensation.
She hoped that when she and Michael officially divorced, Aiden wouldn't blame her.
"Um, Isabella, I'm suddenly feeling a bit unwell. How about you have dinner with me another day?"
Aiden had no choice but to pretend to be sick to deceive Isabella.
Otherwise, if time dragged on, who knew what shameless thing Michael might do?
He couldn't just stand by and watch Isabella be cheated; he had to go and bring that disobedient Michael back right now.
But Isabella really wanted to spend time with Aiden. She didn't know when she would be able to come back after leaving.
However, Aiden's sudden claim of feeling unwell startled her. "Grandpa, where do you feel unwell? I'll call the family doctor right now. Butler!"
"Don't call the doctor." Aiden hurriedly stopped Isabella. "Isabella, I'm just too tired. I'll be fine after resting in my room for a while. No need to call the doctor."
"Then let me help you back."
Isabella stood up to help, but Aiden waved his hand repeatedly. "No, no, you're pregnant now. You can't risk getting hurt. I'm fine; I can walk by myself."
So, the two walked side by side to Aiden's residence.
After settling Aiden in, Isabella suggested going home. Seeing that it was late, Aiden was worried about her driving alone at night and suggested she stay at the house for the night.
Isabella initially didn't want to, but Aiden said Michael hadn't been home for a long time and wouldn't disturb her.
So, she agreed to stay.
As soon as she entered the bedroom on the second floor, Isabella felt the air was a bit stuffy, probably because it hadn't been occupied for a long time.
She turned on the light and walked to the window to get some fresh air. To her surprise, she saw a shocking scene downstairs.
If she wasn't mistaken, the person who had just gotten into the back seat of the first black luxury car downstairs was Aiden, whom she had just helped to his room.
Wasn't Aiden supposed to be unwell and already asleep?
She had personally tucked him in, so how could he be storming out with a group of men in black, looking like something big was about to happen?
Thinking of this, Isabella's heart tightened.
Could it be that something happened to the Brown Group?
Aiden had long retired and no longer dealt with company affairs. For something to alarm him, it must be a very tricky and difficult matter.
No wonder Aiden had urged her to go home earlier and pretended to be sick to send her away.
He clearly didn't want her to get involved.
Although she shouldn't interfere in such business secrets, she was more worried about whether Aiden's health could withstand such stress.
If it triggered Aiden's heart condition, it would be even more chaotic.
Watching the car leave quickly, Isabella didn't think any further and drove her own car to follow.
At this moment, Atticus had just learned from Daniel that Isabella had gone to the Brown Family.
But no one answered when he called Whispering Pines Estates.
Worried that something might have happened to Isabella, he drove to the Brown Family to check. To his surprise, he saw several cars speeding past as soon as he arrived.
Especially the last car, which was Isabella's personal car.
Atticus's eyes darkened, and he quickly turned around to follow at a steady pace. Although he didn't know what had happened, he couldn't just watch Isabella get into trouble.
The three groups of people headed straight for Michael's lakeside villa.
Meanwhile, the two people in the villa were unaware of the impending danger.
Violet lay on the bed, eager to strip off her clothes to seduce Michael and spend a passionate night with him.
But Michael stood at the foot of the bed, watching Violet twist and turn with a calm expression as if he were looking at a worm.
He wasn't stunned; he simply had no feelings for Violet.
However, her actions reminded him of something.
It turned out that besides Isabella, he had no feelings for other women and even felt some disgust and aversion.
He couldn't even pretend to act.
If he had known, he would have drunk more red wine. Then, at this best moment to get information, he wouldn't be standing there like a wooden block.
As for the drug Violet had given him, he had only taken a sip before discreetly absorbing it with a tissue.
So, he was calm because there was no drug effect in his body.
But in fact, if he wanted to get the information he needed, he should have "acted" a bit.
"Mr. Brown, why are you still standing there? Come on."
Violet beckoned with her finger, half of her clothes already off. She clearly thought the drug should have taken effect.
Michael narrowed his eyes and walked step by step to the bed, already planning how to get the information, and then knocked Violet out and left.
After making his plan, he smiled and sat at the foot of the bed.
Seeing this, Violet's eyes were fixed on him as she crawled closer, excited about what was about to happen.
Finally, she was going to be Michael's woman.
Just as Violet was about to reach out and hug him
The door burst open, and a group of men in black rushed in, followed by Aiden, leaning on a cane with a livid face.
Originally, Aiden thought Michael was just a bit undisciplined and disliked being controlled, but still a decent person.
But seeing Michael and Violet hugging on the bed, Aiden's heart tightened with anger.
He gripped his cane tightly and struck at Michael on the bed.
"You bastard, our Brown Family doesn't have such a scoundrel like you. Isabella is pregnant with your child, and you dare to do these shameful things with this woman. Are you even human? I'll beat you to death for Isabella!"
The situation happened so suddenly that Michael, in shock, could only say one sentence.
"Grandpa, why are you here?"
But Aiden didn't listen to him at all and swung his cane at Michael.
Unfortunately, being old, he almost tripped before reaching the bed, and Felix had to catch him.
Violet, finally reacting, pulled up the blanket to cover her half-naked body, terrified by the crowd.
But this scene was clearly seen by Isabella, who had just arrived.
