Chapter 218
Isabella had been with the Brown Family for three years, and it was the first time she had seen Aiden look so grim.
Originally, she had intended to leave quietly for the sake of Aiden, giving both parties some dignity.
But now Atticus and Holden had arrived.
Clearly, things couldn't just end like this.
Atticus's gaze fell on Aiden's hand gripping Isabella's wrist, his eyes cold.
"It's all clear to us what Michael has done. At this point, Aiden, are you still going to hold onto Isabella?"
"You've seen it yourself. The problem between them was never caused by Isabella. He didn't cherish this relationship, so why should Isabella suffer?"
Out of respect for the long-standing relationship between the two families, Atticus still gave Aiden some respect.
After saying what needed to be said, Atticus pulled Isabella away from Aiden.
He shielded her behind him, not allowing anyone to bully her anymore.
"The Wilson Family will always be her safe haven. If the Brown Family doesn't treat her well, then the Wilson Family will take her away."
"Aiden, I've said all I need to say. Take care."
The warmth of Atticus's hand spread to Isabella's, and she looked up to meet his pained gaze, finally coming to her senses.
"Isabella, let's go home."
"Okay."
Isabella nodded and left with Atticus, not sparing Michael a single glance.
She had long since come to terms with this marriage and had finally let it go.
If Michael really wanted to be with someone else, it had nothing to do with her. But he was too impatient.
They were just one step away from divorce. Couldn't he wait a little longer, or was he already eager to give Violet a title?
But she wouldn't care about that anymore. She was still pregnant, and she couldn't afford to get angry.
Moreover, after this incident, it was impossible for the two families to reconcile.
As Isabella and Atticus left, Holden couldn't help but glare at Michael.
Seeing Michael's half-open shirt, even as a man, Holden felt disgusted, let alone the scene Isabella had witnessed upstairs.
Bastard.
Isabella was still carrying his child, yet he was having sex with Violet in the middle of the night in the suburbs.
They should have stopped Isabella from marrying Michael. No matter how well he pretended, he wasn't worth trusting.
Now, not only did Holden feel disgusted by Michael, but he also found the entire Brown Family hypocritical.
It was clearly Michael's fault, yet Aiden still wanted Isabella to forgive him.
"Ugh!" Holden walked up to Michael and spat at him, "You are truly shameless and ungrateful."
After saying that, he didn't care how angry Aiden was and turned to leave.
In Atticus's luxury car, Isabella sat comfortably in the back seat.
Holden, who had just gotten in, was still furious. He closed the door and started ranting to Isabella.
"Isabella, this time you must listen to me. Even if Michael kneels down and apologizes, you can't forgive him."
"Michael dared to cheat while you were pregnant. Who knows what else he might do to hurt you? I say, once the child is born, the Wilson Family will raise it, and we'll cut ties with the Brown Family completely. Just thinking about Michael makes me sick."
Holden was so angry that his eyes turned red.
Isabella, worried about his emotional state, couldn't help but try to calm him down.
"Uncle Holden, calm down. Michael and I have already separated. Whoever he wants to be with has nothing to do with me. In front of Grandpa, we're just pretending. Don't let this upset you."
But Isabella underestimated her uncles' love for her.
Holden couldn't stand hearing this.
They had always cherished Isabella, and now Michael was cheating her.
"This can't just end like this. Even if you're getting a divorce, he should wait until after the divorce to find another woman. Now he's having sex with Violet right in front of us. Does he think the Wilson Family is dead?"
He took a deep breath, his eyes filled with anger, wishing he could hang Michael up and beat him for three days and nights.
But then he realized something was off. He turned to the back seat, looking incredulous, "Isabella, what do you mean? Are you going to forgive him?"
Isabella was stunned and sighed helplessly.
Holden was really obsessed. She better not say anything more.
If she provoked him further, he might go back and confront Michael.
At this moment, Atticus, who had been focused on driving, glanced at Holden and spoke calmly.
"Enough, Isabella is worried about your health. Stop blaming her. She's still pregnant, so calm down."
Hearing this, Holden seemed to snap out of it, his face showing belated regret. He quickly apologized to Isabella.
"Isabella, it's my temper. I almost took my anger out on you. Don't take it to heart. I'm always on your side."
"I know."
Isabella smiled, seeing that both of them had calmed down, and finally asked her question.
"By the way, Uncle Atticus, Uncle Holden, how did you end up here?"
Although she knew Atticus was capable, finding someone wasn't difficult for him, but the timing was so perfect that she was still surprised.
After all, she had no idea where she was when she followed them here.
Holden glanced at Atticus, and seeing no objection, he explained, "Atticus had just gotten home when Dad said you went to the Brown Family. Worried you'd be mistreated, he rushed over without stopping."
"When we arrived at the Brown Family, we saw two cars parked at the entrance. Sensing something was wrong, we followed and found out what happened."
That's the whole story.
Atticus knew what Isabella was thinking. He knew she hadn't gone to the Brown Family because she feared they would fight for the child if they found out.
Now she had to go, and he was worried something might happen, so he rushed over.
But he hadn't expected Michael to be the main character of this farce!
Isabella, however, was thinking about Daniel.
"Uncle Atticus, does Grandpa know you came here?"
If Michael's actions reached Daniel's ears, her days of hiding would be exposed.
And in her current state, she couldn't let Daniel see her like this. With his sharpness, he would definitely notice something.
Atticus reassured her, "Don't worry, Dad doesn't know. Before coming, I called him and said you were just having dinner at the Brown Family and would be late."
Holden chimed in, "Exactly, we're heading home now. Dad is waiting for you there."
