Chapter 240
Isabella had absolute trust in Shadow's abilities.
Shadow never left any loose ends, always clean and efficient, but his personality and temper could be somewhat unpredictable.
His thoughts often jumped quickly.
Since he asked her to check it out for herself, there must be something he didn't want to say and wanted her to investigate personally.
"Got the information. Anything else?"
Just as Isabella was about to hang up the phone, she heard Shadow suddenly reply seriously, "Yes!"
Isabella was taken aback. Shadow usually rushed to hang up. What was going on today?
He always had something to say but never said it directly, always waiting for her to ask.
"What else?"
Shadow chuckled softly on the other end, "Isabella, we've been old friends for a while now. Aren't you curious about what I look like?"
Isabella blinked, making sure she hadn't misheard.
"Are you saying I should meet each other?"
"That's right, just the two of us!"
Shadow's tone was very certain, but Isabella's side clearly had a hint of reluctance.
"Isabella, you don't want to meet me?"
"No." Isabella answered very decisively.
She considered Shadow a friend and trusted him deeply, but they were only suitable for online contact. Meeting in person would make her feel awkward.
After all, in their circle, it was an unspoken rule not to easily reveal one's true face.
If they really met in person, she wouldn't know how to face Shadow as a friend.
"Isabella, you..." Hearing such a heartless reply, Shadow took a breath in grievance, "I thought we would be the most in sync, the most tacit, the most like-minded partners. I didn't expect you to refuse to meet me. I'm really sad."
On the other end of the phone, Shadow, a top tracker, was crying loudly while holding the phone.
Isabella couldn't help but twitch the corner of her mouth, pressed her brow, and sighed.
"Drop your act. I'm not meeting you for your safety. Your identity is special. What if someone targets you, do you still want your life?"
"You say so much, but it's just an excuse not to meet me!"
Shadow's attitude was bad, but when Isabella wanted to explain further, he forgave her in advance.
"Alright, alright, I know you're doing it for my good, but I don't want to hear your excuses anymore. That's it, hanging up."
After hanging up the phone, Isabella was still shocked by Shadow's request to meet her in person.
When it came to thrilling things, she had tried everything, from mountain racing to betting millions of dollars in a single game, but meeting a mysterious person she had never met but was familiar with was something she didn't dare to risk.
Shadow's identity was too special. The more people who knew his true identity, the more dangerous it was.
Moreover, she had never thought of meeting Shadow, whom she had known online for years. The feeling was too strange, and she couldn't accept it.
After calming down, Isabella opened the data information sent by Shadow.
According to the time shown, Harper was transferred to a beauty salon called Glamour Oasis shortly after disappearing from the hospital.
This shop had just opened recently and was decorated very ordinarily.
From the outside, it looked like a place only suitable for locals to pass the time.
Even Harper herself probably never had beauty treatments in such a small place.
However, small-scale beauty salons had an advantage that others didn't: as long as you paid enough, they could absolutely help hide someone's identity and keep them hidden.
Harper hiding here was indeed not easy to find.
Trusting Shadow's abilities, Isabella immediately called her subordinate Jesse and instructed him to transfer all personnel searching for Harper to investigate Glamour Oasis.
After giving these instructions, Isabella specifically added, "Remember, this matter must not be told to anyone, including the Wilson Family and the Brown Family."
Jesse replied instantly, "Yes, Ms. Taylor!"
Daniel's condition had just improved, and her uncles were exceptionally concerned about her pregnancy. If they knew she was secretly investigating Harper and losing sleep over it, they would probably take her back to the Wilson Family immediately and have someone watch her to ensure she rested properly.
As for Michael, with Violet by his side, it was better not to let him know about Harper's whereabouts.
After all, even she wasn't sure if Violet and Bianca were the same person.
To catch Harper quickly, acting quietly was the best plan.
But what Isabella didn't know was that Michael's people had surrounded Glamour Oasis even faster than hers, disguised as ordinary people watching every move inside.
Two teams were monitoring the beauty salon simultaneously.
At this moment, a man dressed in black and wearing a hat quietly left through the back door.
Inside the beauty salon, Violet was lying on a bed, enjoying a high-end beauty device doing a hydrating treatment on her face, feeling completely relaxed.
The feeling of not being controlled was so liberating.
She liked Michael, no doubt, but his love was suffocating. She had felt stifled these past few days.
Finally getting a chance to relax, she didn't want to go back to the company at all.
She was thinking about finding an excuse to delay her return.
But thinking about Michael's frantic and domineering behavior when he couldn't find her made her heart tremble.
She loved Michael too much!
No matter what he was like, she liked him.
The only downside was that Michael hadn't been intimate with her yet. They had confirmed their relationship, but he hadn't even touched her.
In the next couple of days, even if she had to seduce Michael, she would make him hers.
While Violet was lost in her thoughts, a phone call interrupted her daydream.
She had a mask on her face and didn't want to open her eyes, so she pressed the answer button directly and asked, "Hello? Who is it?"
A low, hoarse voice, processed to be unrecognizable, came from the other end, "It's me."
Violet snorted, pressing her fingers on the mask, "Of course, I know it's you. You usually complain that I contact you too often. So, what's up today? You have time to call me?"
Usually, when she called, the person on the other end was always impatient.
What was going on today?
"Violet, the moment I called you, you should have guessed that you've caused big trouble!"
The man's voice was not only sarcastic but also sharp and angry.
Hearing this, Violet was stunned.
The first thing she thought of was the time she and Michael, without the man's permission, messed around in the master bedroom on the second floor.
Could it be that he found out?
Knowing she was in the wrong, Violet admitted her mistake, "Oh, come on, we just wander around your room without doing anything more. You can't be seriously mad about that, right?"
