Chapter 283
Isabella sneered, "Who cares about your money? Stop hiding and come out."
"Who, who are you?"
Hearing this voice, Harper looked like he had seen a ghost, even more panicked than before. He accidentally stepped on something and tripped himself.
Isabella found it odd and didn't want to waste time. She waved her hand, signaling the bodyguard to kick the door open and rush in.
The moment Harper saw Isabella appear in front of him, he suddenly screamed.
"Holly crap! Don't come after me, it wasn't me."
Seeing Harper's crazed appearance, the bodyguard immediately stood in front of Isabella.
Isabella didn't know what was going on with Harper, but no matter what tricks Harper had up her sleeve, she had to capture her today.
She raised her hand, signaling the bodyguard to step aside, and walked step by step towards Harper, saying in a deep voice, "Harper, I've been looking for you for a long time. Stop pretending to be crazy."
"You killed my mother, Grace. How could I ever let you go? From the day you escaped from the hospital, you should have known what your fate would be."
As Isabella approached, Harper's face turned even paler, as if he was terrified.
She hugged her head with both hands, trembling all over.
How could Isabella be here?
This was impossible!
She had arranged everything, and the other party assured her that nothing would go wrong. She even heard on the phone that Isabella's car was on Elysian Bridge.
The explosion happened, so how could Isabella be standing in front of her alive?
Wasn't Isabella supposed to die in that explosion?
What on earth was going on?
"No, this must be an illusion. Isabella is already dead. She can't be Isabella. My plan couldn't have gone wrong." Harper curled up, muttering to herself, as if she had suffered a great mental shock and had lost her mind.
Seeing this, Isabella didn't bother to say anything more. She ordered her people to tie Harper up and take her away.
Then she rushed back to Whispering Pines Estates.
Driving quickly, Isabella's car happened to meet Atticus and Holden at the intersection.
Seeing that it was the Wilson Family's vehicle, and specifically Isabella's car, her two uncles didn't care about the car parked by the roadside. They opened the door and ran over.
It wasn't until Isabella was thoroughly checked by her two uncles that she realized how worried and anxious they had been during the hour she was gone.
"Uncle Atticus, why are you here too?" Isabella asked curiously, seeing the worried Atticus.
"What do you think? You almost scared Atticus and me to death. Why didn't you tell us you changed your route at the last minute?" Holden was extremely anxious. Seeing Isabella return safely, he was on the verge of tears.
He held Isabella's hand, unwilling to let go.
Isabella was stunned.
She thought her uncles, with their intelligence, would have realized she didn't get on that bridge. But she was in such a hurry to chase Harper that she didn't think that far.
Seeing Atticus and Holden so worried about her, Isabella felt warm inside. It turned out her uncles cared so much about her.
"Uncle Holden, don't cry. I'm fine, nothing happened. Don't worry."
Isabella patted Holden's arm, gently comforting him.
Holden took a deep breath and couldn't help but tell her about the explosion, "How can I not worry? The Wilson Family's car was among those that exploded. The car was blown to pieces."
"If you hadn't luckily escaped, Atticus and I would probably be in the hospital from the shock."
"That serious?"
Isabella frowned deeply. She hadn't expected the cars that didn't leave with her to encounter such danger.
If she had been among them, wouldn't she have been...
Isabella didn't dare to think further.
No wonder Atticus and Holden looked so pale. They hadn't realized she had changed direction before entering the bridge.
"It's my fault. I didn't call you immediately to let you know I was safe, making you worry about me."
"As long as you're okay. I'll have the news of the closure lifted and let Dadl know you're safe so he won't be scared."
Since Isabella had returned safely, Atticus felt relieved.
Holden took a deep breath, his emotions calming down.
"Isabella, you don't know. When Atticus and I got the news, our legs went weak. If Nolan from the Brown Family hadn't said you were alive and showed us proof, Atticus and I would have probably beaten that scoundrel Michael to a pulp!"
Hearing this, Isabella was stunned.
She thought she had misheard and asked in confusion, "Uncle Holden, weren't you looking for me? Why would you beat Michael?"
Given Holden and Atticus's emotions and state at the time, Isabella had no doubt they would have beaten him severely.
At this moment, Holden, hearing Isabella's question, showed no regret. On the contrary, he felt justified.
"I just wanted to! If it weren't for his insistence on having a birthday party at sea, you would be safely resting at home, and none of this danger would have happened. Just thinking about it makes me angry. I should have kicked him again."
Hearing Holden's angry tone, Isabella shook her head helplessly.
Thinking about Michael getting beaten for no reason, and by her two uncles no less, Isabella felt speechless.
Maybe after she finished her current business, she should go see Michael and explain the reason on behalf of her uncles.
They were about to get divorced, and she no longer wanted to owe him anything.
"But what does this have to do with Nolan? Why was he there?"
In Isabella's memory, Nolan rarely got involved in the Brown Family's affairs, especially Michael's personal matters.
And the school was so far from here. Did he rush over upon hearing the news?
Unexpectedly, this question made Holden's eyes light up.
He grabbed Isabella's hand and started talking.
"Isabella, I have to tell you about this. Although it's my first time meeting Michael's brother Nolan, I think he's much better than that scoundrel Michael. He looks gentle and kind, and I'm sure he's a caring man!"
Thinking about the Brown Family having someone who looked like Michael but had a completely different personality, Holden felt like he had found the perfect replacement.
Isabella hadn't divorced Michael because she couldn't let go of that scoundrel, right?
Now, with someone who looked like him but was a good family man, Nolan, if they could be together, wouldn't that solve all the problems in one go?
Holden now wanted to tell Isabella all the good things about Nolan.
He had wanted to discuss it with Atticus earlier, but Atticus wasn't interested in such matters. Now that Isabella was back, how could he miss this opportunity?
