Chapter 293
"I was eavesdropping?" Michael raised an eyebrow and took a step forward. "Isabella, we haven't even divorced yet, and you're already meeting Emilio behind my back. Don't you think you owe me an explanation?"
He was extremely relieved to know she was safe and wanted to see her immediately to ensure she was unharmed.
But after searching everywhere, he found her with Emilio.
If he wasn't afraid of scaring her and the baby, he would have punched Emilio right then and there.
"Explanation?"
Isabella was speechless.
Michael suddenly interrupted their meal, and he thought he was in the right?
And besides, who she was with and what she was doing had nothing to do with him. He already had Violet, so why was he meddling in her affairs?
"Michael, I don't owe you any explanation about our relationship."
With that, Isabella stood up and faced him, her eyes cold and devoid of any emotion. "Don't forget the only reason we haven't divorced yet! You have no right to meddle in my personal affairs!"
Their agreement was clear: to maintain their marriage for Daniel's sake and to avoid rumors about the baby. It didn't mention anything about their personal feelings being restricted.
She hadn't interfered with his affairs with Violet, so why was he accusing her?
And saying she was secretly meeting Emilio?
His words were truly harsh.
After speaking, she no longer looked at Michael and turned to Emilio. "Emilio, I lost my appetite. Let's go somewhere else to talk."
Emilio, not wanting to see Michael any longer, stood up to leave without hesitation upon hearing Isabella's words.
Before leaving, he said to Michael, "Mr. Brown, we're leaving. Goodbye."
As he walked beside Isabella, Emilio thoughtfully supported her arm, helping her down the steps.
Isabella nodded and thanked him.
Their intimate actions seemed like a deliberate show-off to Michael, igniting his anger.
Damn it!
He had just gotten rid of Nolan, and now Emilio was here. He hadn't even divorced Isabella yet, and they dared to openly compete for her.
If he didn't bring Isabella back home soon, she might be taken away by someone else.
The bodyguard who followed noticed Michael's unusual mood. With Aaron still recovering in the hospital, they had no idea what Michael was thinking.
He cautiously asked, "Mr. Brown, should we continue following Mrs. Brown?"
After all, their duty was to protect Isabella's safety.
Who knew Isabella would suddenly stop the car and have dinner with Emilio, which angered Michael enough to come and confront them.
Michael, still furious, glared at the bodyguard upon hearing this.
He snorted coldly, "She's already left with someone else. What's there to follow?"
The bodyguard, realizing his mistake, lowered his head and didn't dare to speak.
Michael strode outside, dismissing the bodyguards behind him, and planned to secretly follow Isabella's car.
He couldn't rest easy with Isabella and Emilio alone together.
Meanwhile, as Isabella walked out of the restaurant, she lost all interest.
She knew that whenever she encountered Michael, her emotions would be uncontrollably affected.
How dare he speak to her like that?
He himself had numerous scandals with Violet and even brought her to the company to stay together all day. What right did he have to lecture her?
Despite this, Isabella still felt extremely upset.
She attributed these emotions to excessive pregnancy hormones. In the past, no matter how harsh Michael's words were, she wouldn't have cared.
But now, ever since she got pregnant, even the smallest things would upset her, and she would sometimes hide and brood over them.
The longer she was pregnant, the less control she had over herself.
Emilio noticed her change and, like a gentleman, helped her into the car, standing outside the door to comfort her.
"Isabella, if you're tired, go home and rest. I can always accompany you for a meal and chat. It's not a big deal."
Emilio had previously worried that Isabella wouldn't let go of Michael and wouldn't want to divorce him.
But now, seeing their tone and attitude towards each other, he felt a glimmer of hope.
He wasn't afraid to wait. As long as Isabella no longer liked Michael, he would have a chance to be by her side.
Eventually, she would realize that they were the perfect match.
"I'm really sorry, Emilio. I wanted to catch up with you, but... I owe you this time. I'll definitely treat you to a meal when I have time."
The more considerate Emilio was, the more guilty Isabella felt towards him.
But in her current state, it wasn't suitable to have a heart-to-heart with anyone. It wouldn't be fair to Emilio.
"Alright, take it slow on the road. I'll wait for your call."
Emilio reluctantly took a step back, allowing her to leave.
Although he said that, he knew their chances to meet were rare, and this was a rare opportunity.
Unfortunately, it was ruined by Michael.
But he didn't want to force Isabella. Seeing her unhappy wouldn't make him happy either.
"Okay."
Isabella nodded and waved at Emilio as the bodyguard in the front started the car and slowly drove away.
Little did they know, Michael saw everything from a distance.
Watching them part reluctantly, he clenched his fists and then started his car to follow Isabella.
Emilio had just gotten into his car when he received a call from home.
Seeing the caller ID, he reluctantly answered, "Dad!"
A dissatisfied voice came from the phone, "You still remember I'm your dad? You're never home, and now you haven't called for months. Where have you been?"
"Didn't you always say I wasn't mature enough? I'm following your advice, working hard outside to gain experience, so I can improve myself and take over your responsibilities!"
Emilio knew exactly what Randy Blair wanted to hear and tried to say what he liked.
Sure enough, Randy was taken aback by Emilio's serious tone.
"That's more like it. But you've been away long enough. Your mother misses you. It's time to come home."
"Even if you're taking over my responsibilities, you can't wait until I'm too old to work. While I can still teach you, it's time to come back and take over the family business."
Emilio wasn't indifferent to his parents, but he had just taken over as vice president of the Wilson Group, and he still maintained a friendship with Isabella.
Leaving now would be too hard to accept.
He had given up everything abroad to come here and take the vice president position at the Wilson Group, all to have a chance with Isabella.
He had waited too long for this day.
Seeing that Isabella and Michael were on the verge of divorce, he didn't want to give up easily.
