Chapter 296
Looking at the scene, Kian was simply amazed. He squinted his eyes and said slowly, "It's not that I don't want to let you listen, it's just that the recording behind is more explosive than you think. I'm afraid you won't be able to handle it and might faint from anger."
"You two are really similar, always pushing the responsibility onto each other when something goes wrong, neither of you dares to take responsibility."
Mentioning Harper made Indigo grit his teeth in hatred.
The recording had already infuriated him, and his anger burst out, "That bitch Harper, she thinks she's so innocent. Wasn't it her idea to get rid of Grace so she could become Mrs. Taylor? If I get back, I'll kill her."
Indigo said the rest through gritted teeth, clearly provoked by Harper's words.
But even in his anger, Indigo didn't forget that Kian was right in front of him.
So he muttered the words through clenched teeth, only he could hear them clearly.
But Kian, sitting in the chair, suddenly looked up and smirked, "Go on, why did you stop?"
Indigo was startled but kept a brave face, "I just cursed a bit, do you want to hear that too?"
"How long have you kept me tied up? I haven't slept well for two or three days. Even if you want to get something out of me, you should at least give me some basic human rights."
Indigo hoped Kian would leave soon. He had almost let slip something he shouldn't have in his anger.
But Kian had no intention of letting him off.
He raised his hand, and the bodyguard behind him immediately handed over a new phone, with the recording interface open. Kian just lightly tapped it.
Indigo's muttered words were played out clearly.
The sound was clear and loud, and the whole room heard him say, "Wasn't it her idea to get rid of Grace so she could become Mrs. Taylor?"
The sound stopped, and Indigo was completely stunned.
He stared at Kian with wide eyes, "What did you do to me?"
Kian played with the phone, a sinister look in his eyes, "What could I do to you? Of course, I recorded your every word."
"Not only do you have a bug on you, but every corner here is bugged. Did you think I kept you here for a vacation?"
Indigo didn't know what expression to show.
He had been here so long and hadn't realized he was bugged and surrounded by bugs.
Kian stood up with the phone and instructed the bodyguard behind him, "Continue questioning him, get the whole story behind that sentence."
"If he doesn't talk, keep playing that sentence in his ear until he gives me the answer I want."
"Yes, Mr. Wilson."
Kian strode out of the room and immediately called Atticus back in the States.
"Atticus, we got a lead. It was Harper who provided the plan to Indigo to climb up, which led to Grace's death."
"But Indigo is still holding back on the specifics."
Atticus, sitting in his office, replied coldly, "Don't worry if he doesn't talk. We've waited all these years, we can wait for him to open up."
They had endured for so many years, a few more days wouldn't matter.
"Okay, I'll let you know as soon as I have any news."
After hanging up, Atticus's phone suddenly received a message.
It was from his assistant: [Mr. Wilson, I've found the medical records of Ms. Wilson's hospitalization back then. I've sent the documents to your email, please check them.]
Seeing the message, a cold light flashed in Atticus's eyes.
He had finally waited for this day.
The truth about Grace's tragic death was about to be revealed.
Just then, his phone rang again, it was a call from the Wilson Villa.
The only person who would call him at this time was Daniel.
Atticus quickly answered the call, "Dad."
"Atticus, why are you so busy today that you haven't come home yet? Is there something urgent?"
Daniel's voice was hoarse, but his concern for Atticus was evident.
When Holden wasn't home, Atticus would usually return to the Wilson Villa to have dinner with him.
Today, Holden had gone out early, Atticus hadn't come back, Isabella had returned to her place, leaving the old man alone at home, feeling lonely.
Atticus wouldn't dare leave Daniel alone at home, so he said, "I'm not busy, Dad, I'm coming back now, don't worry."
"Alright, take your time on the road. By the way, is something wrong with Isabella? She didn't look well this afternoon and seemed listless."
Atticus was startled and quickly explained for Isabella, "How could that be? She probably just didn't sleep well. If you're really worried, I'll call her and ask her to come to the Wilson Villa to talk with you."
"Okay, that works. I haven't felt at ease since Isabella left. Now that she's pregnant, I'm worried. If she could stay at home, I could see her every day."
Atticus was a bit troubled, "I'll talk to Isabella. If she can come, that's good, but whether she wants to stay is up to her."
After finally reassuring Daniel, Atticus contacted Isabella.
He asked if she had time to visit the Wilson Family tomorrow. Isabella had already made plans with Michael, so she agreed immediately.
Atticus didn't say much more, just waited for Isabella to come back tomorrow.
After hanging up, Isabella started worrying about her meeting with Michael tomorrow.
How could she act loving with Michael without being too intimate?
If she couldn't help but keep her distance from Michael, what if Daniel noticed something was wrong?
But she had just managed to control her emotions.
What if she got too close to him, and he treated her well because of the baby, and she started having unnecessary thoughts and feelings again?
Touching her belly, Isabella suddenly had an idea.
She could stop loving Michael.
But she shouldn't deprive the child of his affection.
That would be good. After all, his concern for her was all because of the child.
With this thought, Isabella fell into a deep sleep.
When she woke up, it was already daylight outside.
Just as she finished dressing, Cinda knocked on the door, "Ms. Taylor, Mr. Brown is waiting outside. I asked him to come in, but he didn't."
Isabella paused and replied, "Got it, Cinda, I'll be right down."
