Chapter 297

When Isabella went downstairs, she saw Michael from a distance, leaning against the car in a long black coat, without a cigarette in his hand, just quietly looking at the ground.

He occasionally glanced up at the building.

In such cold weather, he was standing there in the cold wind, and even Isabella felt he was asking for trouble.

She wanted Cinda to call him to get in, but knowing Michael's temper, he probably wouldn't come inside even if called.

She had to handle it herself.

Isabella tightened her cashmere shawl and walked to the door in her fluffy slippers.

Looking at Michael's face, already red from the cold wind, she said helplessly, "How long are you going to stand there? I haven't had breakfast yet."

Seeing Isabella's cute just-woken-up look, Michael's eyes brightened, and he stood up straighter.

"No rush, take your time, I'll wait for you."

After saying that, he still had no intention of going inside or sitting in the car.

Isabella was speechless. It was only seven o'clock, and he must not have had breakfast either.

She really had no way to deal with him.

"Alright, stop standing there foolishly, come in and eat with me, then we'll go to Grandpa's."

"Okay."

Michael's eyes lit up. He wouldn't be foolish enough to refuse Isabella's personal invitation.

So the two of them sat at a table, eating breakfast face to face. Only then did Isabella get into his car and head to the Wilson Family.

When they arrived and got out of the car, Michael specifically walked over to Isabella's side to help her.

Isabella instinctively wanted to refuse, but with her uncles watching and possibly the servants who might tell Daniel later, she bit her lip and put her hand in Michael's, using his strength to get out of the car.

Before she could pull her hand away, Michael wrapped his arm around her waist and said seriously, "Take it slow, you're pregnant now, you need to be more careful, understand?"

If it weren't for her uncles approaching, Isabella would have pushed this hypocritical man away.

Seeing the situation, she had to go along with it, otherwise, it would be a mess.

"Oh, didn't I tell you I'm three months pregnant? You don't need to be so nervous."

Isabella said as she hugged Michael's arm, looking very happy.

Seeing this, her uncles' eyes widened.

Atticus didn't react much. Although he was shocked, he knew Isabella well enough to understand she must have her reasons for acting this way.

The other uncles, however, were immediately filled with hostility towards Michael.

They wished they could pry his hand off Isabella's waist and keep him as far away from her as possible.

But they also knew one thing very clearly, Daniel inside the house wouldn't agree.

After all, what he most wanted to see was Isabella and Michael getting along well.

Michael greeted each uncle, then led Isabella into the house under their watchful eyes.

Seeing the two of them together, looking sweet, Daniel couldn't be happier.

He raised his hand for them to sit, especially pulling Isabella to sit beside him, patting her hand and nodding.

"I was worried that being alone would affect your mood, and I was planning to have you stay with me so I could take care of you."

"Now seeing you two getting along so well, I'm relieved."

"You know, the one I worry about the most is you. Now seeing you and Michael getting along and you two are having a baby, I can rest easy even if I die."

At this point, Daniel, who had been strong all his life, couldn't help but tear up.

His biggest regret in life was letting Grace escape and marry someone who didn't love her, ending up dying of illness.

Now that Isabella could have a happy and stable family, not following Grace's path, he was at peace.

Isabella felt sad and held Daniel's hand to comfort him, "Grandpa, don't say that, you still have to be with me for a long time!"

"Didn't you say you would help me take care of the baby? Without you, how can I take care of the baby alone? I don't know how to do these things. Or do you want your future great-grandchild to be neglected?"

"How could that be? Isn't there Aiden? He wouldn't neglect your child."

Daniel said with a smile.

But Isabella didn't think so. She hugged Daniel's arm and immediately retorted.

"No, Aiden is Aiden, you are you. Even if the child is cared for, what about me? If I can't see you, Grandpa, I will cry."

In the end, Isabella couldn't help but cry.

Her uncles and Daniel hurried to comfort her.

Michael wanted to hug her but couldn't get in.

"Dad, Isabella is in a period of hormonal imbalance, don't scare her. If she cries, it will make her feel unwell."

Atticus looked at them helplessly, not knowing what to do.

He could only persuade Daniel.

Holden also chimed in.

"Yes, Dad, you're in good health and will live a long time. Don't say those things anymore. Not only does Isabella not want to hear it, but I also get scared listening to it."

"Alright, alright!"

Daniel wiped Isabella's tears and said with a smile.

"It's my fault, I shouldn't scare Isabella. I promise to take good care of myself and do nothing but help take care of the baby, okay?"

Isabella finally stopped crying and nodded, "That's more like it. I can't trust anyone else with the baby, only you, Grandpa."

"And, Grandpa, Michael and I have discussed it. We didn't get to go on a honeymoon when we got married, so after the baby is born, we'll leave the company to the uncles for a while and go on our own. You can't disagree."

Hearing this, Michael immediately added, "That's right, Grandpa. I promised Isabella. We can only trust you to take care of the baby."

"And if I don't make up for the honeymoon, she'll really be mad."

"Hahaha, alright, after the baby is born, I'll take care of the baby, and you two can go have fun."

Daniel agreed happily.

He didn't notice anything amiss.

Thus, a perfect and harmonious family gathering was successfully achieved.

Just before getting into the car, Isabella, with Michael's help, gently and warmly said goodbye to Daniel and her uncles.

But as soon as the car door closed, Isabella quickly withdrew her hand.

She wiped the smile off her face and took a deep breath, "Enough! Michael, we don't need to act anymore."
