Chapter 310
That familiar color, he seemed to have seen it somewhere before.
"Mrs. Brown, where did you get this handkerchief?"
He had been with Michael for many years and was somewhat familiar with Isabella's habits. She didn't like these intricate things.
Isabella didn't know why Aaron suddenly noticed the handkerchief in her hand. Seeing his serious expression, she handed it to him.
"It's from Ms. Faith, why?"
"Renee?"
Aaron was now more certain of the handkerchief's origin.
No wonder it looked so familiar; it belonged to Renee.
Aaron picked up the handkerchief and looked at it. An embroidered pattern in the upper left corner came into view.
It was a delicate little lily of the valley.
Two messages from Renee flashed through his mind.
[Do you remember what my favorite flower is?]
[Lily of the valley.]
And now, a handkerchief with a lily of the valley pattern was in Isabella's hand.
What was Renee trying to convey?
Aaron furrowed his brow, and a sudden alarming thought occurred to him.
Renee was trying to tell him that the next target of the person behind her was Isabella!
Only she and he would understand this code.
Anyone else wouldn't know what it meant.
Thinking of this, Aaron's expression suddenly became serious. He said to Isabella, "Mrs. Brown, Mr. Brown said your safety is more important than anything else. Please let me follow you, I beg you."
Isabella didn't know what Aaron was thinking, but she didn't believe Michael would care so much about her.
"He would worry about me? What Michael really cares about is the baby in my belly, right?"
Isabella snorted coldly, but she vaguely felt that Aaron seemed to have noticed something, though he didn't explain much.
"Mr. Brown is concerned about both you and the baby." Aaron included both Isabella and the baby without bias. "And here's your handkerchief back."
Isabella took it and, hearing Aaron's words, felt more comfortable. She didn't want to make things difficult for him and nodded, "Just this once!"
"Thank you for your understanding, Mrs. Brown."
Isabella rolled up the car window, and the car quickly returned to the main road, heading towards Whispering Pines Estates.
Aaron got back into his car and quickly followed.
With Isabella's permission, Aaron's car was no longer sneaking several cars behind. This time, it was right behind Isabella's car, watching her safely enter the villa area.
Aaron's car couldn't go in, so he parked by the roadside and quickly called Michael.
"Mr. Brown, I have something important to report. Mrs. Brown is being watched, and the next target is her. Mrs. Brown is in extreme danger."
Michael's voice was deep and powerful, "For sure?"
Aaron nodded, "Absolutely."
Michael paused for a moment and suddenly asked, "Did Renee tell you this?"
Aaron was stunned, but he had no secrets in front of Michael, so he confessed, "Yes, she gave Mrs. Brown a handkerchief to convey a code."
"A code?"
Michael could hear the ambiguity in Aaron's words. "Aaron, what is your relationship with Renee now?"
He wasn't nosy about his employees' personal lives, but Renee's identity was too sensitive.
Who knew if Renee was using Aaron?
He had to press.
Aaron could hear Michael's suspicion, but he dared to stake his life on it. Renee was absolutely trustworthy.
Otherwise, she wouldn't risk protecting Isabella at this time.
"Mr. Brown, I vouch for Renee with my character. She would never harm Mrs. Brown. She took this risk for Mrs. Brown's safety."
During this time, he had been keeping an eye on Glamour Oasis and had thoroughly understood Renee in every aspect.
He admitted that at first, he was prejudiced against her, even thinking of Renee as a ruthless woman like Bianca.
But the more time he spent with her, the more he realized that Renee was an independent woman with her own thoughts. She didn't like going out and spent her free time either doing research or taking care of plants.
Renee, such a quiet and beautiful person, could never do anything harmful.
But what he couldn't understand was that although Renee clearly had feelings for him, she was ruthless when rejecting him, using sharp words without any consideration.
Even now, he didn't dare to call her his girlfriend in front of others, fearing she would get angry if she found out.
Meanwhile, Michael hung up Aaron's call and carefully reviewed the matter.
It wasn't that he didn't trust Aaron, but he needed to think this through.
If what Renee said was true, Isabella was already in the enemy's sights.
But the Wilson Family's defense around Isabella was extremely tight. Even if they wanted to make a move, it wouldn't be in the villa.
Unless...
Michael furrowed his brow and suddenly thought of the explosion at Elysian Bridge.
The enemy had taken advantage of Isabella's vulnerability while she was out.
At this time, Isabella was pregnant and had to go to the hospital for check-ups almost every month. If the people behind this were watching, wouldn't they seize the opportunity?
No!
He couldn't leave Isabella in such a dangerous environment.
The next second, he called Isabella.
At this moment, Isabella had just arrived home, changed into her loungewear, and was eating the nutritious lunch Cinda had specially prepared for her. When she saw Michael's number flashing on her phone, her good appetite instantly disappeared.
Wasn't he supposed to follow Indigo's advice and take care of Bianca for the rest of his life? Why was he calling her?
Without thinking, Isabella hung up.
But she seemed to have underestimated Michael's patience.
She hung up once, and he called again.
Until she couldn't bear it anymore and had to answer his call, "Michael, are you being childish? What do you want?"
Isabella's voice was filled with anger, and Michael found it amusing.
Because Isabella was always so calm in front of him. No matter how big the issue, she wouldn't change her expression.
Why was she so cute today?
He chuckled, "Isabella, isn't it time for your prenatal check-up?"
Isabella was stunned. How did he know?
Could it be that Michael's paternal instincts had awakened, and he suddenly wanted to see the baby's growth?
"Michael, why are you asking?"
The next second, Isabella got her answer.
"I'm the baby's father. Even if we signed an agreement, you can't stop me from accompanying the baby for check-ups, right?"
"Besides, the agreement doesn't say that. As the father, I want to see the baby's health. Is that not allowed?"
"No!"
Isabella refused without thinking, rolling her eyes inwardly.
"Michael, stop playing games with me. I told you, this baby is mine alone in the future. It has nothing to do with you. Besides, I already paid your 'hardship fee' at that time!"
