Chapter 320

"Of course, I'm here to accompany Grandpa, but if I stay here for a few days, will you miss me and the baby so much that you can't sleep?"

Isabella intentionally spoke in a tender and affectionate manner, so that Daniel would completely believe that her relationship with Michael had been fully restored.

Daniel indeed felt it, but since the couple was flirting, he didn't feel it was appropriate to stay any longer.

He found an excuse to go outside, giving them space to talk.

Watching Daniel leave, Isabella closed her eyes and finally breathed a sigh of relief.

The moment she spoke again, her tone had shifted from gentle and charming to cold and ruthless, "Mr. Brown, why did you call?"

Daniel was just outside, so she couldn't talk for too long, risking exposure.

But considering he had just helped her, she could give him a few minutes to finish his words.

Michael's "Of course I miss you" hadn't even left his mouth before Isabella's cold words hit him like a bucket of ice water.

He felt a chill all over.

How many more sides of Isabella had he not seen?

Just a second ago, she was his sweet wife, and the next, she wished he would disappear.

But now he couldn't care about that. The fact that Isabella answered his call was already a big surprise for him.

What more could he ask of her?

"Do you remember Renee?"

He got straight to the point.

"What's wrong with her? Isn't she fine in the hospital?"

Isabella hadn't been out much lately, and Renee was being guarded by the Wilson Family's bodyguards, still in a coma.

Why was Michael bringing up Renee now?

"I want to see her and ask her some questions personally."

Worried that Isabella might refuse, Michael had to bring up Aaron, "Besides, she and Aaron are in a relationship. Aaron, who is abroad, asked me to check on her. Can you have your people step aside and let me in?"

Isabella frowned. She might have hesitated at first, but Michael's later words seemed to be hiding something.

He could see Renee, so why use Aaron's name?

What was he feeling guilty about?

Renee had intricate ties with Bianca, who had recently seemed to disappear.

Was he trying to find Bianca through Renee?

Thinking of this, Isabella sneered, "Michael, if Aaron is worried about Renee, he can call me for help. But you're Aaron's boss, it's inappropriate for you to visit Renee, right? Besides, Renee is under the Wilson Family's protection now. You can't see her just because you want to."

After saying this, Isabella hung up the phone decisively, not giving Michael a chance to come up with another lame excuse.

That bastard Michael, she knew he wasn't over Bianca.

Even now, he was still thinking about her.

But when did Renee and Aaron start dating? Weren't they supposed to be on opposing sides?

Isabella felt a strong sense of curiosity.

She knew Aaron had been keeping an eye on Renee's beauty salon for the past month or two, but she was more curious about what had happened between them to spark such intense feelings.

Just as she was racking her brain trying to figure it out, a private call came in.

"Ms. Taylor, the lady you saved a few days ago just woke up. Mr. Wilson is personally interrogating her, but she insists on seeing you first, or she won't say a word."

Renee woke up?

Isabella knew she probably didn't trust Atticus. After thinking for a moment, she said, "Alright, I'll be right there."

Atticus would never let Isabella take such a risk, so he rushed to the hospital as soon as he heard Renee woke up.

Isabella's car was also Atticus's personal vehicle, which went to the Wilson Family to pick her up.

Seeing this, Daniel would be reassured.

Renee's condition was quite serious. She had various minor injuries, but the main issue was that she had broken her leg when she jumped from the car.

She also had different degrees of head injuries and concussions, which was why she had been in a coma until now.

When Isabella arrived, she saw Renee lying in bed, her entire body below the head tightly bound.

It wasn't the hospital's doing, but Atticus being overly cautious.

Isabella sighed. Atticus didn't consider that Renee was so injured that even if she wanted to do something to her, she wouldn't have the strength.

But Renee, lying in bed, didn't seem to mind. Her eyes lit up the moment she saw Isabella.

"Ms. Taylor, you saved me."

Renee's voice was weak and hoarse. Isabella remembered seeing her covered in blood a few days ago.

She couldn't imagine what Renee had gone through before that.

Isabella walked up to Renee and nodded at her, "Yes, it was me. Renee, don't be afraid or worry. Since I chose to save you, I won't let you face danger or threats again. You can rest assured of that."

Renee smiled weakly, "Thank you. If it weren't for you, I might have died on the road by now..."

Renee, just waking up, was still very weak and started coughing uncontrollably after saying a few words.

Isabella wanted to help her, but Atticus's look stopped her.

She had no choice but to let a bodyguard help Renee.

After Renee calmed down a bit, Isabella continued, "Ms. Faith, there's no need to thank me. Anyone who saw you in that state would have saved you."

Maybe it was the hormonal changes from having a child, but she had become more emotional about life-related matters.

Even if she had seen an ordinary person that day, she would have saved them.

Not just because it was Renee.

"Ms. Taylor, I know you're kind-hearted, which is why I said those words to you at the beauty salon that day."

Renee, gasping for breath, expressed her feelings and attitude.

Isabella's eyes tightened, as if she had connected some dots, "So, your injury this time is related to what you wanted to tell me that day?"

At first, she didn't understand why Renee had given her a personal handkerchief.

But thinking back to Aaron's insistence on taking her home that day, everything seemed to make sense.

Renee had already wavered in her plan to help Bianca harm her, which was why she wanted Isabella to take the handkerchief.

It was to alert Aaron.

Renee had never intended to harm her.

"Ms. Taylor, this was my personal choice and has nothing to do with you. I didn't want to be a tool in someone else's hands anymore, so I decided to resist."

Reflecting on her actions, Renee's eyes were filled with determination, not regret.

"I knew they would notice, but I didn't expect them to come so quickly."

"Who are they?" Isabella keenly caught the key point in Renee's words, "What did they do to you?"
