Chapter 358
If it really was her, then he was one step closer to uncovering the truth about the Adri Family.
But before tackling that huge problem, he had to deal with Bianca first.
She had killed his child.
She had also made Isabella lose all trust in him, causing Isabella and Michael to separate with no chance of reconciliation.
If it weren't for her, he would have already made up with Isabella and been there to watch their child grow up healthy and happy.
He would never let her go.
Seeing Michael's reaction and expression, Ethan couldn't help but sigh deeply for his friend's plight.
He had never liked Bianca.
In his opinion, she couldn't hold a candle to Isabella.
Bianca always put on this weak, helpless act, as if everyone was out to get her.
Women like that made him uncomfortable.
But Michael protected her no matter what she did, never getting angry and always cleaning up her messes.
Ethan just couldn't understand it. Did Michael have terrible taste in women? How could he choose to protect a fake, innocent Bianca over a cool, elegant wife like Isabella?
Ethan wanted to ask, emboldened by the alcohol, but seeing Michael's dark expression, he swallowed his curiosity and quickly changed the subject.
"Alright, alright, let's not talk about unhappy things."
"So, what are you going to do about Isabella? You can't just leave it like this, right?"
Ethan didn't dare say it outright, but knowing Isabella's temper, losing her child meant she probably wouldn't get back together with Michael.
After all, she was a cherished daughter of the Wilson Family, a princess who had been pampered all her life. There was no way she would come back to endure this pain.
"Divorce is not an option!"
Michael's tone was firm.
He had just thought of a solution.
Isabella always thought there was something going on between him and Bianca, right?
Then he would get rid of Bianca.
If she thought he wasn't sincere enough, he would lay his heart bare for her. He would solve any problem standing in their way.
Whether she forgave him or not, he would never let her go again.
"Michael, isn't that a bit much?"
She didn't like him anymore. Forcing it would only make things worse.
Seeing Michael's determined look, Ethan couldn't bear to burst his bubble and sighed.
"You've come this far. If you keep pushing, you'll only make things harder for Isabella and more painful for yourself."
Why bother?
Couldn't they just part ways amicably?
"But she's all I have. I only love her."
Michael's voice was soft but unwavering.
He hadn't realized how much he cared for her at first, but after three years of marriage and her filing for divorce, he finally woke up.
He had feelings for her, but he just didn't want to admit it.
They had gone through so much together during the divorce turmoil, and he had come to understand her more deeply, learning about her hidden sides.
His affection had long since turned into deep love. He didn't know what he would become if he let go.
But he never wanted to find out.
Hearing Michael's heartfelt confession, Ethan decided not to push further.
It was something he should have realized sooner, but it took an irreversible situation for him to understand his own heart.
Ethan didn't know whether to be happy for Michael or sad for Isabella.
But no matter what, outsiders could never truly understand the feelings of those involved.
All he could do was understand and respect.
"Alright, I won't say more. I support you in finding true love. Don't let her down again."
That night, they both drank heavily.
But Michael drank the most.
Ethan helped him, called a driver, and took him to the Brown Villa.
It wasn't that Ethan didn't know Michael's other places, but with Michael this drunk, Ethan couldn't leave him somewhere unattended.
But the Brown Villa was different.
Aiden and Michael's mother, Stella, were there, ensuring he wouldn't pass out alone in the middle of the night.
Ethan dropped Michael on the couch, exhausted.
Aiden was already asleep, but Stella, woken by the noise, saw Michael passed out on the couch and immediately called for help.
Worried about waking Aiden, Stella had Michael taken to a bedroom upstairs.
But Michael, as if deliberately opposing Stella, refused to be touched, shouting, "Isabella, you can't divorce me! I won't agree! I'll never agree!"
Stella turned pale, gently patting Michael's arm and soothing him, "No divorce, no divorce. We'll do as you say, okay?"
"Calm down, or if you wake your grandfather, we'll both be in trouble."
Stella wished she could gag him.
But her words worked.
Michael quieted down immediately, "You said it, no divorce."
"Yes, yes, I said it, no divorce."
Seeing this, Stella signaled the servants to help him upstairs.
Only then did she breathe a sigh of relief. Seeing Ethan equally drunk, she said, "Ethan, you're too drunk to go home. Stay here tonight. It's safer to leave when you're sober."
Ethan and Michael's close relationship was well-known, and their families were acquainted.
Though they didn't interact much as adults, Stella's offer showed their bond hadn't faded.
Ethan, with a pounding headache, politely asked, "Mrs. Stella Brown, will it bother you if I stay?"
Stella laughed, waving her hand, "Not at all. You always stayed with Michael when you were kids. It's late, don't go."
She called a servant, "Take him to the guest room on the first floor."
"Thank you."
Ethan, too tired to go home, agreed.
As Ethan staggered away, Stella, worried about Michael, sighed and went upstairs.
Michael was already in bed, his jacket off.
He had lost a lot of weight, dark circles under his eyes, and looked utterly worn out.
Seeing her son like this, Stella's heart ached.
