Chapter 395

But Olivia's commanding presence still made her stand out.

She had thought Olivia would always keep that gentle demeanor after meeting Atticus.

Turned out, she was overthinking it.

Olivia was just Olivia, one of a kind.

Her temper could flare up in an instant, and she couldn't stand even a bit of grievance, but her heart was pure and kind.

Only when she met someone she truly liked would her prickly exterior soften, just hoping to get a little closer to them.

"Mrs. Brown, I really know I messed up this time. I don't expect Renee to forgive me, I just want to do something to make it up to her. Please, Mrs. Brown, give me a chance to see her."

Aaron humbled himself, just begging for a chance to see Renee.

He had been on a plane for nearly ten hours, then spent half the day busy with work at the company. He should have gone straight home to rest his exhausted body.

But somehow, he ended up driving here.

Isabella felt a bit troubled.

Over the past few years, Aaron had always been in the limelight, following Michael. She had never seen him so humble, begging for something.

After all, Aaron had always been on her side, helping her a lot behind the scenes.

She really didn't know how to refuse him.

Just as Isabella turned to look towards the hall, ready to ask a servant to get Renee's opinion, she saw Cinda standing at the door, shaking her head helplessly.

Renee didn't want to see him?

That made sense, Aaron had been standing at the door for a while, and Renee was upstairs, she must have seen him.

But how was she supposed to tell Aaron?

Should she just say Renee didn't want to see him?

What if this created a rift between them, and they really broke up?

Isabella could only give Olivia a look. They had been friends for over ten years, and one gesture was enough to convey the message.

Olivia immediately understood, cleared her throat, and gave Aaron a look.

"You're really dense, aren't you? Renee doesn't want to see you right now, and you insist on showing up. Isn't that just pushing her?"

"If I were you, I'd think about the issues between you two. When you figure out Renee's place in your heart, then talk about meeting her. If you just see her as a temporary thrill, I suggest you stay away from her."

"Besides, Renee is safer with the Wilson Family than with you. You say you love her, but what can you do for her? Financial support or personal protection? Think it all through before you come to see her. Then no one will stop you."

Seeing Aaron fall silent, Olivia knew he had taken her words to heart.

It was quite cold outside, and Isabella couldn't stand the chill. Olivia pulled her back inside.

In the living room, Isabella watched the surveillance on her tablet.

Aaron didn't leave immediately. Instead, he stood outside for a while before leaving silently.

Turning off the tablet, Isabella looked at Olivia, holding back a smile.

"Olivia, weren't you just arguing fiercely with Renee? How come you're helping her now?"

"I wasn't helping her. I just can't stand seeing bad guys wrong girls. And..."

Olivia bit her lip, unable to hold back, "I saw Renee standing behind the curtain downstairs. I think she still has feelings for Aaron, but she just can't say it."

"So, you wanted to help her?" Isabella finished her sentence.

"Yeah."

Olivia nodded, "We're friends after all. We can bicker, but when it comes to serious matters of the heart, I want to help her."

"I've said what needed to be said. Now it's up to Aaron to act."

If he truly cared for Renee, he wouldn't be able to stay away.

Olivia suddenly clicked her tongue, "I just hope Aaron isn't a bad guy like Michael, considering they spend so much time together."

Isabella opened her mouth, but Olivia didn't need to say that last part.

She really didn't want to hear Michael's name right now.

Seeing Olivia so invested in Renee's relationships, Isabella quietly asked, "Olivia, Atticus is actually quite easy to win over. Why don't you try a bit harder with him? What if it works out?"

"No, no, no."

Olivia waved her hands at the word "try."

She had tried before, but Atticus was different. If he didn't accept her from the heart, even standing naked in front of him wouldn't work.

Besides, she had tried all that.

Atticus just saw her as a kid. What could she do?

Isabella felt it was a pity, "Are you really not going to try?"

Olivia shook her head with a bitter smile, "Better not. If I really anger him, he might never speak to me again. Isabella, we might really not be meant to be."

Atticus's personality was a bit dull, and Olivia's concerns weren't unfounded.

But Isabella felt they shouldn't just give up.

As a friend, she should do something to help them, and also make Atticus realize his true feelings.

Before Olivia gave up completely, that would be when he truly regretted it.

After all, she could see that Atticus looked at Olivia differently.

Since they liked each other, why torment each other?

"By the way, Isabella, I want to apologize to Renee for what happened today."

Olivia was referring to her prank to Renee. It wasn't a big deal, but she didn't want any real rift between them.

So, solving the problem was the best way.

"Go talk to her."

Isabella knew Olivia's straightforward nature and nodded, letting her go upstairs.

Since Renee's leg healed, she had moved to the second floor to take care of Isabella.

At this moment, Renee was standing by the window, looking at the now empty front door, a hint of sadness in her eyes.

She was the one who let go first, right?

But why did it hurt so much to see him leave, and why couldn't she stop the tears?

A knock on the door interrupted her thoughts.

"Renee, it's me, Olivia."

Hearing the knocks, Renee quickly wiped her tears.

She didn't want anyone to see her sad over a relationship.

But as she walked to the door, she hesitated. They had just argued, and if Olivia saw her like this, she'd tease her.

Renee took a deep breath and asked calmly, "What's up?"

"Yeah, Renee, open the door. Let's talk. If you don't, I'll think you're still mad at me. Renee, you wouldn't be that petty, right?"
