Chapter 396

When Olivia saw that Renee wasn't opening the door, she decided to try some reverse psychology.

"Renee, if you don't open up, I'm gonna start singing really loud!" Olivia called out in a playful, sing-song voice.

Inside the room, Renee shook her head with a small smile. She wasn't a child; she wouldn't get upset over something so trivial. Both of them were just worried about Isabella's health. The bug incident was just a manifestation of her own fears, not Olivia's fault.

"Renee," Olivia started again, but before she could finish, the door opened.

"Come in," Renee said, her voice cool and detached as always. She stepped aside to let Olivia in.

Although Renee tried to hide it, Olivia immediately noticed the tear stains at the corners of her eyes. Olivia was glad she had given Aaron a way out; otherwise, Renee would have been heartbroken. It was clear that both Aaron and Renee had feelings for each other; they just needed someone to make the first move.

Despite her thoughts, Olivia didn't forget why she was there. She pursed her lips and sincerely apologized, "Renee, I'm really sorry about the bug thing. I didn't know you were so scared of them."

Renee hadn't taken the matter to heart in the first place. "It's okay. I was just emotional and couldn't control myself."

But she needed to make one thing clear. "Just don't let it happen again."

Olivia's eyes lit up. "I promise, it won't. So, does that mean you forgive me?"

Renee forced a smile. "Come on, is it a big deal?"

"That's a relief. I was worried you wouldn't forgive me," Olivia said, patting her chest in relief. "Alright then, let's put this behind us and stay good friends."

"Okay," Renee agreed.

Olivia's eyes gleamed with a sudden thought. "By the way, I have some news about Aaron. Want to hear it?"

At the mention of Aaron, Renee's eyes flickered despite her efforts to suppress her curiosity. "What about him?"

Olivia could tell from Renee's reaction that she had feelings for him, even if she didn't realize it herself. "He cares about you. If you like him, give him a chance. You two should meet and talk things out."

With that, Olivia left. Renee stood there, mulling over Olivia's words. Could she and Aaron really end up together?

Night fell. While everyone was sound asleep, a dark figure appeared outside the high walls. The man carefully avoided the surveillance cameras, approached the back door, and threw a specially made grappling hook. Once it was secured, he jumped over the wall and into the yard.

Looking at the nearby hall, the man took a deep breath to steady his nerves. It was none other than Aaron, who had been unable to see Renee earlier that day. After returning home, he had thought long and hard about his future with Renee. He was certain that he wanted her. No one else would do. The person by his side in the future had to be her.

So, he decided to confess his feelings, even if she ended up rejecting him. Perhaps luck was on his side this time. He managed to enter the Wilson Family's yard without encountering any guards.

The hall was eerily quiet as Aaron tiptoed inside, heading towards Renee's room. Suddenly, he was struck hard on the back.

"Ah!" he yelped.

"Wait!" Before Aaron could turn around to explain, he was hit on the head again, this time even harder. Aaron stumbled, his vision blurred, and he collapsed.

The hall remained dark as Renee tightly gripped the stick in her hand, swallowing nervously as she looked at the tall figure on the ground. She had only come down for a drink of water, never expecting to encounter an intruder in the Wilson Family's home. Whether the intruder was after her or Isabella, she couldn't let them succeed. However, the sound the person made when they fell seemed oddly familiar.

"What's that noise?" Isabella and Olivia, hearing the commotion, hurried downstairs. The moment the lights came on, everyone froze. Not only were Isabella and Olivia stunned, but Renee, standing next to the unconscious man with the stick in her hand, was also wide-eyed.

The person she had just hit was Aaron? What was he doing here, sneaking in at this hour?

Seeing Aaron lying unconscious on the floor, Olivia couldn't help but laugh, "You two really are fated to meet, even like this?"

Renee was too shocked to catch the teasing tone in Olivia's voice. She had hit him with all her strength. What if she had seriously hurt Aaron?

Isabella gave Olivia a look and quickly went to comfort Renee, "Renee, are you okay?"

Renee, pale-faced, shook her head, her eyes fixed on Aaron, "Ms. Taylor, I'm fine, but Aaron..."

Isabella sighed. Aaron was too impatient. Olivia's words earlier were meant to encourage him to take things slowly, but he had apparently misunderstood and climbed over the wall in the middle of the night. Fortunately, the guards had recognized him and called her beforehand, or he might have been in real trouble.

Isabella checked Aaron's condition. Aside from some injuries, he was fine. "Don't worry, he's just unconscious. He'll be okay."

With that, Isabella called Olivia over, and the three of them moved Aaron to the couch. After all, he was a familiar face, and it wouldn't be right to leave him on the floor.

After a while, Aaron slowly regained consciousness. He instinctively touched his head and felt blood. "Ah! Who did this?"

"Aaron, how can you be so self-righteous? Do you even realize where you are? Sneaking into the Wilson's house in the middle of the night? You sure know how to have fun," Olivia said, her tone casual, making Renee's face heat up.

Others might not know, but she could guess. Aaron had come in the middle of the night to see her.

Aaron, holding his head, instinctively asked, "Was it you who hit me?"

He had his reasons for thinking so. Isabella, as the Wilson Family's lady, wouldn't do such a thing. Renee had feelings for him and wouldn't hurt him so badly. After thinking it over, Olivia was the only possibility.

Renee, standing behind Aaron, wanted to explain, but Olivia beat her to it. "Yes, it was me. So what?"

"You're just an assistant, sneaking into here at night. Should I commend your bravery or admire your luck for challenging the Wilson Family's security system?"
