Chapter 404

Aaron spoke to her in a tone he had never used before, leaving Renee momentarily stunned.

At this point, Aaron decided to stop holding back and gave Renee two choices.

"Stay here and be my wife, or go back to that place with me. Pick one."

Renee was taken aback but quickly understood what Aaron meant. She immediately rejected both options. "I don't want either! Move, I want to go back."

"No way, you have to choose one!"

Aaron tightened his grip on her hand, refusing to back down no matter what Renee said.

"Who do you think you are to control me?"

Renee had never seen Aaron act so domineering. She had always been the one in control in their relationship. When did he learn to treat her like this?

"You know why. Because I'm your man!"

"You..."

Aaron whispered this in her ear, but his domineering words still made Renee's face flush with embarrassment.

Was he doing this on purpose?

This was an airport, not their home.

How could he say something like that so confidently?

Seeing her blushing face, Aaron decided not to tease her any further and pulled her into the waiting area.

He had made up his mind. No matter where she went, he would follow.

Outside, Isabella watched this scene unfold and finally breathed a sigh of relief.

With Aaron around, she believed he would protect Renee.

She turned to leave, spotting Olivia in a black leather outfit and sunglasses, standing out in the crowd.

Seeing Isabella, Olivia approached and asked, "So, is Renee staying? If not, should we follow her and see what's going on?"

"I heard they have rare diamonds over there. You love red diamonds, right? We could get some and bring them back as family heirlooms."

"Plus, it's warmer there and less crowded. We could treat it as a vacation. What do you think?"

Isabella sometimes envied Olivia's outlook. No matter what happened, she always saw the bright side.

No overthinking, no internal conflict. Always true to herself.

Seeing Isabella's silence, Olivia took her hand and made the decision. "Your silence means yes. I'm booking the tickets now. We'll surprise Renee with a little 'coincidental' meeting."

Isabella did want to get away for a while. So much had happened recently, and Atticus and the others were worried about her safety, keeping her under the Wilson Family's protection.

But that only made her feel more depressed.

If possible, she wanted to find a quiet place where no one knew her and just relax.

"Okay."

Just as Isabella agreed, a familiar voice called out from behind her.

"No way! I won't let you go."

Isabella and Olivia turned to see Michael approaching.

Olivia had already booked first-class tickets.

Seeing Michael, Olivia's temper flared. "Oh, it's Mr. Brown. What does it matter to you where Isabella wants to go? Who are you to control her?"

"Because we're still married, and I'm still her husband." Michael's tone was firm.

He had heard everything. Isabella was planning to go to Auroria. That couldn't happen.

The thought of Isabella being in danger made him frown as he tried to pull her to his side.

Olivia quickly stepped in front of Isabella, glaring at Michael. "Michael, have some decency, will you?"

"Isabella isn't yours anymore. You're just one signature away from divorce. How can you say something like that?"

"I warn you, stay away from Isabella. She has nothing to do with you now."

Her words might have worked on someone else, but Michael didn't care at all.

His focus was solely on Isabella.

"Olivia, this is between Isabella and me. Step aside!"

He just wanted to take Isabella away, keep her in Evergreen City where she would be safe.

Olivia was furious. How dare this man come here and try to take her away?

"Over my dead body. What are you going to do about it?"

Olivia spread her arms to shield Isabella, her face red with anger. "Michael, if you had any conscience, you'd know how much you've hurt Isabella. Now that she's finally free of you, you want to drag her back? No way!"

Olivia's loud voice drew the attention of the crowd at the airport.

Some recognized them and started gossiping.

"Oh my God, isn't that Michael Brown? Didn't he have a public breakup ages ago? Why is he still chasing his ex-wife?"

"Ex-wife? Didn't you hear? They're not divorced yet, just separated. Looks like Michael Brown regrets it and wants her back, but she doesn't want him."

"He should have thought of that before. I remember he was all over some woman named Bianca back then. Now he regrets it? Too late."

Hearing Bianca's name, Isabella's hands clenched.

She looked at Michael with even colder eyes.

She had just wanted to avoid talking to him, but now she didn't even want to look at him.

"Olivia, let's go. Ignore him."

Isabella grabbed Olivia's hand and headed towards the VIP lounge.

"Stop."

Michael stepped in front of them, his eyes fixed on Isabella.

"No matter what, you can't leave Evergreen City. Just this once, listen to me, okay?"

Bianca was in Auroria now. The safest place for Isabella was Evergreen City.

If she went to Auroria, she'd be walking into danger.

He couldn't allow it. It was too risky.

And Bianca, that lunatic, would definitely do something if she knew Isabella was in Auroria.

Isabella didn't know what Michael was up to, but she hated his controlling attitude.

"Michael, you don't get it. Where I go is my choice. You have no right to control me, got it?"

Isabella didn't give him a chance to speak and started to walk away.

Michael had no choice but to grab her hand. "Isabella, please, stay. Don't go there!"

That place was the Adri Family's territory. He couldn't protect her there. If they wanted to harm her, he couldn't do anything.

And he wasn't Aaron. The Brown Group was facing major changes. He couldn't just leave the company and follow her.

So the best solution was for Isabella to stay.

That way, he could be at ease.

Isabella found his words laughable and shook off his hand without a second thought.

"Michael, are you kidding me? Who are you to me? Why should I listen to you?"
