Chapter 413
Michael had never felt so clear-headed.
The Brown Group had someone from the Adri Family within its ranks. Given the current situation, this person was either lurking close to him or already held a high position in the company. Otherwise, they wouldn't have been able to sneak into his office, forge his signature, and use his stamp without a trace.
But there was one thing he couldn't figure out. Apart from Aaron, he didn't trust anyone else around him.
And Aaron would never do something like this. He had no reason to harm the company or his own interests.
So, the only person who could enter his office and access the safe was someone close to him.
Recently, with Aaron being away, he had promoted a new assistant, Ruby Hill.
His suspicion wasn't without reason.
There weren't many people in the company who could enter his office, but recently, due to various contract signings, only Ruby knew where he kept the key to the safe.
If his hunch was correct, the problem lay with her.
As for how the Adri Family had bribed her to frame him, that was a matter for later.
Right now, he needed to find evidence and expose the mole.
The next morning, Ruby arrived at the office as usual and brought Michael's schedule for the day.
She knocked on the door and found that Michael seemed to have stayed overnight, still in his suit, asleep in his chair.
"Mr. Brown, did you not go home last night?"
Hearing her voice, Michael opened his eyes. Seeing her, a glint of sharpness flashed in his eyes.
But he didn't show anything on his face.
He just rubbed his temples and asked, "What's up?"
Ruby carefully placed the documents on the desk. "This is your schedule for today. The department head asked me to bring it to you for review."
"Okay."
Michael glanced at it and suddenly thought of something. He gave an order.
"I have something to do at noon and will be out of the office. Cancel all my morning appointments. Also," he pointed to the documents on the desk, "print these out and notify everyone that there will be a senior management meeting at 2 PM."
"Yes, Mr. Brown."
Ruby took the documents without showing any unusual expression.
But Michael had already set a trap.
The documents Ruby took were prepared in advance, with all information about Auroria deliberately removed, leaving only some cooperation terms. If she was indeed the Adri Family's mole, she would react to this information.
Meanwhile, at the Wilson Family residence.
Isabella woke up early because she had plans to go out with Emilio.
When she went downstairs, she didn't wake her friend Olivia, who was sleeping in the next room. Instead, she quietly went to the first floor.
Cinda, knowing they were going out today, was already making breakfast.
Seeing Isabella up so early, Cinda offered her some food.
Isabella sat at the dining table, quietly eating the sandwich Cinda had made, but her mind was on Atticus and Olivia's relationship.
Yes, she had brought Olivia along to create an opportunity for her and Atticus to meet.
Even if they didn't talk, they couldn't avoid each other once they met.
However, she felt a bit guilty towards Emilio. After all, it was his idea to go out, but she was using it to set up Atticus and Olivia.
Thinking of this, Isabella called Emilio.
Emilio was already on his way and was pleasantly surprised to receive her call. "Hey, Isabella! What's up?"
Feeling a bit embarrassed, Isabella's heart softened at Emilio's cheerful tone.
"Emilio, I need to tell you something, but promise you won't get mad."
Emilio's heart sank, but his first thought was whether Isabella was feeling unwell.
"Okay, tell me. I won't get mad."
He blamed himself for being too eager. Isabella had just been discharged from the hospital and needed to recuperate. How could he invite her to go hiking?
"I agreed to go out with you today, but something came up, and we might have to leave a bit later. Is that okay?"
Emilio was momentarily stunned, then blurted out, "You still want to go out with me?"
Realizing he might have misunderstood, Isabella quickly explained, "Of course, I do. It's just a minor issue, but I won't cancel our plans."
"Of course, that's fine!"
Hearing that she was only delaying and not canceling, Emilio couldn't hide his joy. "As long as you want to go out, I'm available anytime."
"But, is the issue serious? If I can help, I'd be happy to."
Emilio didn't want Isabella to think he was meddling, so he asked cautiously.
But he didn't know that Isabella was actually in need of help. Having Emilio as an ally was a relief for her!
"That's great. I do need help."
After hanging up, Emilio sped up to the Wilson Family residence. When he arrived, he found Isabella waiting outside.
As he was about to get out of the car, Isabella quickly got in and directed him to park in the garage.
"Sorry, Emilio, but I need to hide you for now. Atticus hasn't arrived yet, and I don't want him to know you're here."
Isabella explained as she directed him.
Emilio didn't mind. In fact, sharing a secret with Isabella made him feel closer to her.
Once the car was parked, they didn't rush to get out.
Isabella explained the situation to him.
"Emilio, I want to use today to help Atticus and my friend Olivia. You know how Atticus is. If no one pushes him, he might never admit he likes someone."
"And my friend Olivia likes Atticus too, but something happened between them, and neither wants to break the ice."
By now, Emilio understood everything.
"The minor issue you mentioned is helping them face their feelings?"
But why today? Emilio didn't ask.
Since Isabella had a plan, she must have her reasons.
"Yes, I think they're perfect for each other, so I have to do this."
"Oh, I almost forgot."
Isabella took out her phone and showed Emilio a photo of her and Olivia. "I remember you don't follow celebrities much, so you might not know what Olivia looks like."
Emilio looked at the photo of Isabella and Olivia, but his eyes were drawn to Isabella's bright, smiling face.
So, this was how happy she was with her friends.
