Chapter 453
Michael slammed his fist onto the steering wheel, his eyes blazing with anger as he gripped the wheel tightly.
"Nolan, you made me lose everything."
He would never let Nolan get away with this.
Meanwhile, back at Brown Enterprises, Aiden got word that Michael had left the company and was driving alone towards the Wilson estate.
He finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Yes, it was all a ruse he had orchestrated-changing the heir and transferring Michael's power.
To Aiden, Michael, the youngest grandson, was the rightful heir to Brown Enterprises. Everything in the Brown family would eventually be handed to Michael.
Aiden had done all this to force Nolan to reveal his true colors. He wanted to see just how far Nolan would go.
And Michael had more important things to deal with than the company right now.
Aiden had deliberately mentioned yesterday's events in front of the two brothers. He had kept quiet before because Isabella had asked him to, but now that Isabella and Michael had divorced, he had to speak up.
He didn't want to lose a good granddaughter-in-law like Isabella.
A knock on the office door interrupted his thoughts.
"Come in."
Nolan, in his wheelchair, appeared at the door, followed by his newly promoted assistant, Alex Green.
"Grandpa, I have some work to report."
Nolan took the files from Alex and waved him off, rolling his wheelchair forward alone.
Alex understood Nolan's signal, nodded, and left, closing the door behind him.
Aiden didn't say a word, but his eyes lingered on Alex. With his decades of experience, he could tell Alex was more of a bodyguard than an assistant.
Nolan couldn't read Aiden's thoughts and began his report.
"Grandpa, here are all the contract documents for the Auroria mine. Michael was in charge of these before. I need your guidance on what to do next."
Nolan was being overly deferential, leaving all decisions to Aiden.
But Aiden despised this pretense.
"Didn't we just appoint you as the company's president in the meeting? Why are you bringing everything to me now? Do you expect me to teach you how to do your job?"
Aiden snapped.
Since everyone supported Nolan, Aiden had gone along with it. But instead of solving problems, Nolan was pushing them back to Aiden.
"But these were Michael's responsibilities. I just don't want to..."
Aiden cut him off, "Don't want what? You've got the position now, so you should handle these issues. Or do you plan to use them against Michael?"
Nolan's eyes widened in shock.
"Grandpa, I wouldn't."
Aiden scoffed, "Wouldn't you? Nolan, I'm old, but I'm not senile. Don't think I can't see through your little schemes."
The biggest flaw in the Auroria project had been found, and Michael had been punished accordingly. Now he was gone. There was no need to bring these minor issues to Nolan.
Nolan was too eager, trying to block Michael's path completely before securing his own position.
He was too ruthless.
Nolan stared at Aiden in disbelief. How had Aiden seen through his seemingly foolproof plan? What did Aiden know?
He could only stay silent to protect himself, pondering where he had gone wrong.
After a moment, Aiden sighed deeply from the sofa.
"I know you've held a grudge against me for years, and I know how reluctant and resentful you were when you left the company. Now that you're back in this position, consider it my way of making it up to you."
"Michael's mistake means he can't return to the company. The board is extremely disappointed in him, and I'm getting old. I won't be around to manage things for much longer. So, I hope you can let go of your hatred and the past, and manage the company well. Can you do that?"
Aiden's heartfelt words gave Nolan a glimmer of hope.
Indeed, in Aiden's eyes, the family business was paramount. As for who was the heir, he didn't care.
Michael was finished. Soon, Brown Enterprises would be Nolan's alone.
Nolan wondered what Aiden's reaction would be if he knew Nolan had conspired with the Adri family to frame Michael. He couldn't wait to see Aiden's face when that day came.
"Don't worry, Grandpa. I'll manage the company well and live up to your expectations."
Nolan spoke earnestly.
Aiden nodded and left the company, not wanting to stay any longer.
He hadn't planned to hand the company to Nolan, but Michael and Isabella's divorce had pushed him over the edge.
Michael knew his own feelings but foolishly agreed to the divorce. He would regret it later.
Nolan had been restless lately, using various means to get into the company. If Aiden didn't find a way to resolve this, he feared Michael and Nolan would end up in a bitter conflict.
Better to defuse the situation now than wait for a crisis.
And he genuinely liked Isabella as a granddaughter-in-law. If this could make Michael realize Isabella's worth and win her back, Aiden's efforts wouldn't be in vain.
As for Nolan, Aiden felt guilty for forcing him out of the company years ago. Letting him manage the company for a while was a way to make amends.
Aiden would find a chance to explain the truth to Nolan later. Nolan would understand.
With his worries eased, Aiden felt a weight lift from his shoulders.
He had settled things at the company. Now he just needed good news from Michael.
At the same time, at the Wilson estate, Isabella received a call from Shadow. As soon as she answered, she heard shocking news.
"Isabella, latest update: Brown Enterprises held a board meeting today. Michael was unanimously voted out and removed as president. He's no longer with the company."
She was stunned.
All she could hear was that Michael had been kicked out of the company.
