Chapter 46
Seeing Bianca and the police arrive, Indigo and Harper exchanged glances, feeling a surge of confidence.
They hurriedly opened the door and started arguing with Isabella.
"Officer, you're here just in time. It's her, Isabella. She hasn't come back for years, and now she wants to kick our whole family out and take over my property. Arrest her quickly." Indigo's voice grew louder as he spoke.
The police officer looked around. Not only was the place crowded with onlookers, but there was also a group of reporters with cameras.
He couldn't just listen to Indigo's side of the story.
Among everyone in the courtyard, the only one who seemed composed was Thomas, the man with gold-rimmed glasses standing next to Isabella.
"Can you explain what happened?" The police captain walked over and asked Thomas.
"Hello, officer. I'm Thomas, the head of Global Financial Solutions and the legal representative for Isabella. You can direct any questions to me." Thomas said.
The captain was taken aback. "You're the head of Global Financial Solutions, so you must know Ryan?"
Thomas smirked. "Ryan is an employee of my company."
The implication was clear.
The captain immediately understood and hurried over to shake hands and exchange pleasantries.
It was no small matter; Ryan had recently taken on a major international criminal case involving a notorious drug lord. Everyone thought the man would be extradited, but Ryan used his expertise in international law to ensure he was sentenced domestically.
The defendant had cried in court.
Ryan's reputation had skyrocketed, and many wanted to hire him, but he only worked for Global Financial Solutions.
Which meant he worked for Thomas's financial company.
Meeting Ryan's boss, the police captain couldn't help but be excited.
Thomas took the opportunity to explain the situation clearly, but Indigo felt something was off.
Harper, feeling she had no chance, pulled Bianca aside to ask, "Where's Michael? Why isn't he here yet? Didn't you call him?"
In Harper's eyes, Michael was destined to marry Bianca.
With the Taylor family in trouble, they naturally turned to him for help.
Bianca was anxious too, but she didn't dare show it in front of Isabella. She lowered her voice, "How would I know? I haven't been able to reach Michael since last night. Even today, he hasn't answered any of my calls."
Harper's face darkened. "What do we do? If he doesn't come, we can't do anything about Isabella!"
The captain had already investigated the matter.
It turned out Indigo had been occupying Grace's property.
Isabella presented the property documents with her name on them, irrefutable evidence.
The police only recognized the evidence. After explaining the situation, they ordered Indigo's family to move out immediately.
Even the onlookers fell silent.
The house was Grace's inheritance for Isabella, but Indigo and Harper's family had taken it over.
Hearing they had to leave, Harper lost it.
She sat on the ground, wailing and cursing, "This is my place. I'm not leaving. If you want me out, you'll have to step over my dead body. You call yourselves police? You're just in cahoots with Isabella."
Indigo's face darkened, and he quickly pulled Harper aside. "What are you doing? Bianca is a big star now. How can she continue her career with you causing a scene like this?"
Bianca felt embarrassed too.
Her public image was that of a noble and elegant piano prodigy. With reporters outside and Harper's disgraceful behavior, how could she maintain her standing in the entertainment industry?
With so many people watching, she couldn't lose her composure.
She could only direct her anger at Isabella. "Isabella, do you really want to see our family driven to despair? Mom and Dad loved you the most. I even gave up Michael for you, and now you treat us like enemies, leaving us with nowhere to go. How heartless!"
Tears streamed down Bianca's face as she spoke.
Hearing this, people couldn't help but gossip.
"So Michael was originally Isabella's husband, and Bianca gave him up for her. No wonder Isabella got divorced. She's so ungrateful, now she's even harming Bianca!"
"Isabella is just an ungrateful bitch!"
Someone outside shouted at Isabella.
Isabella's cold gaze silenced them immediately.
It was obvious Bianca's "fans" were causing trouble.
She slowly stood up, her high heels clicking as she approached Harper and Bianca.
She sneered, "I have to say, sometimes I really admire your ability to lie so confidently. My marriage to Michael was arranged by my grandfather and Aiden twenty years ago. Did you need to give him up for me?"
There was an uproar outside.
As always, Isabella's rebuttals were sharp and powerful.
Rumors had it that Bianca came from a wealthy family, had a rich and influential boyfriend, Michael, and was a piano prodigy. The truth was far from it.
Bianca's face turned pale.
Isabella continued, "Should I add that your mother, Harper, seduced Indigo while my mother was sick, worsening her condition? Why don't you mention that online? You and your mother are homewreckers!"
The onlookers were stunned.
They knew they had followed the right drama.
Seeing Isabella, whom she had bullied since childhood, now standing up to her, Bianca's eyes filled with hatred. "How dare you call my mom that? Show me the evidence, or stop slandering us."
"Evidence?" Isabella laughed. "When my mom died in the hospital, you were already six months in Harper's womb. So, you are the best evidence of Harper being Indigo's mistress!"
"I'm not! Shut up!" Bianca couldn't hold back any longer, her face twisted in anger. "Isabella, aren't you afraid Michael will get back at you?"
Isabella looked at her like she was an idiot. "'m divorcing him. Why would I care about him? Officer, please remove them from my home. I'm tired and don't want to see them here."
Isabella couldn't be bothered to argue with them anymore.
Under police supervision, Indigo's family had no choice but to pack up and leavee.
The remaining items were thrown onto the street by a dozen bodyguards.
With the matter settled, the onlookers and reporters were cleared out.
In the now-empty courtyard, only Isabella and Thomas remained.
Thomas put his arm around her shoulder, looking at the house with her.
Having lost his only sister Grace when he was young, he wouldn't let Isabella suffer any more injustice.
