Chapter 479

Michael cleared his throat, catching Renee's attention.

Her smile quickly faded, and after a curt greeting, she left the room, giving them some privacy.

Renee couldn't bring herself to be friendly towards Michael after what he had done to Isabella.

Aaron gave a pale smile and gestured to a nearby chair, inviting Michael to sit.

"Mr. Brown, sorry you had to come all this way. Renee's got a bit of a temper, don't take it to heart."

Aaron had noticed Renee's behavior but felt powerless to intervene. After all, Renee was standing up for Isabella, and he was on Michael's side, making it difficult to mediate.

Michael shook his head, indicating he didn't mind.

Instead, he glanced at Aaron's condition and teased, "Looks like your trip abroad was quite the adventure. You finally won the heart of your beloved."

Aaron had faced many ups and downs in his love life, and Michael, both as his boss and friend, wished for him to be with the one he loved.

Despite his pale complexion, Aaron couldn't help but smile when he mentioned Renee.

"We're planning the wedding soon. I don't want to wait any longer."

Sometimes it took staring death in the face to realize what truly mattered.

And Aaron wanted to give Renee everything he could-the best version of himself and his life.

He wanted to create a home with her-somewhere safe and warm that belonged to just the two of them.

Seeing the raw love and excitement in Aaron's eyes, Michael couldn't help but lower his gaze.

He suddenly thought of Isabella.

They had been married once, but he had betrayed his own intentions. Not only had he failed to make her happy, but he had also caused her endless suffering.

Even though he regretted it now and wanted to make amends, what was lost was lost. He had no more chances.

The only thing Michael could do now was offer Aaron some advice.

"Since you've won her over, treat her well. Don't let her suffer."

"Mr. Brown, don't worry. I love Renee and will treat her well for the rest of my life."

After discussing personal matters, Aaron got to the main point.

"Mr. Brown, the reason I asked you to come so late is because there's something important I need to tell you. Before I reveal the answer, take a look at this."

Aaron took a laptop from the side, opened a video, and pressed play.

It was a suspicious point Isabella had discovered after much searching.

The surveillance footage showed a mysterious man in sportswear entering the Brown Group building on the day the documents went missing.

He took the elevator straight to the top floor and appeared outside the CEO's office five minutes later.

The footage ended there.

After all, the surveillance room downstairs couldn't monitor the inside of the CEO's office.

Isabella had only been able to trace the man's movements to the downstairs and various corridors.

Aaron continued, "We checked all the strangers who entered the company over those two days. Only this man went into the CEO's office, but since the footage only captures the area outside the door, it can't be used as evidence. But that doesn't stop us from continuing to investigate this man."

Michael's thoughts suddenly drifted.

Aaron had mentioned "we," but as far as Michael could see, only Aaron and Renee were in the room.

But one was a patient, and the other was a girlfriend taking care of him.

Neither of them could have found this clue in such a short time.

This video had been obtained from the surveillance room, and the Brown Group building had thousands of people passing through each day.

Finding a suspicious stranger among them was a massive task.

And to find the man who entered Michael's office in such a short time and be certain he was the culprit...

The person who did this couldn't be the injured Aaron or Renee.

At that moment, Aaron's voice grew heavier.

"Mr. Brown, after thorough verification, I'm certain the man in the sportswear in the video is Nolan!"

Michael's thoughts were abruptly interrupted.

He looked up at Aaron, his voice low and firm, "Aaron, I know you're trying to help, but everything needs evidence. I may dislike Nolan, but he can't be the man in the video. His legs have been unable to walk since he returned from abroad. The doctors said he'd spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. How could he..."

Listening to Michael's explanation, Aaron suddenly realized.

How could he have forgotten that?

"Mr. Brown, you might not know this, but Nolan has already recovered the use of his legs and is as normal as anyone else. Moreover, I suspect he was faking it from the start. His legs were never a problem. Those reports and medical records were just to make others believe he was truly disabled and couldn't compete for the heir position."

Aaron didn't mention Isabella at all, presenting the findings as his own.

After all, Isabella had insisted that Michael must not be told about these matters, so he had to keep it from him.

"Unfortunately, Nolan is too cunning. Even if we know it's him, we can't use this video as evidence against him."

Aaron gritted his teeth. Nolan had planned everything meticulously, leaving no loopholes.

Michael remained silent for a long time after learning the truth.

If everything Aaron said was true, it meant Nolan had been planning this since he returned, no, since he left three years ago.

His ambition and purpose had never disappeared, only hidden behind a false facade.

No wonder Nolan had been so calm and dismissive when Michael visited him that morning.

He had anticipated all of this.

He would never let anyone else have the Brown Group.

Michael took a deep breath, struggling to calm his inner turmoil.

He never imagined Nolan would hold such a grudge over past events, to the point of making the Brown Group his obsession.

If he couldn't have it, he would destroy the person who did.

That was Nolan, a man who harbored a deep-seated hatred for Michael while pretending to be a good brother for years.

Michael let out a cold laugh, his eyes now clear of any doubt.

"I have the evidence."

Michael took a portable USB drive from his pocket and inserted it into Aaron's laptop.

The surveillance footage showed the inside of Michael's office.

Aaron was shocked, looking at Michael in disbelief. "Michael, what's going on? You installed surveillance in your own office?"
