Chapter 48
Crystal Cove was not small in scale, and its location was fairly decent, but the point was that there were too many problematic accounts.
Once taken over, just handling the various processes would waste a lot of time.
It was time-consuming, labor-intensive, and costly, plus the risk was great, so few companies in Evergreen City dared to take it on completely.
But Crystal Cove WAs located in the central part of Evergreen City.
The Wilson Family was not interested in the resort but in the land of Crystal Cove.
If the Wilson Family acquired this land, they could establish a firm foothold in Evergreen City.
Unfortunately, the Brown Group was also interested in this land.
They had already negotiated with the person in charge of the Crystal Cove project several times before the Wilson Family.
"Michael is also interested in Crystal Cove?" Isabella tapped her fingers on the table.
Although the Crystal Cove project indeed had risks, if Michael was involved, it meant this land was definitely not ordinary. Or, he wanted to use this to prevent the Wilson Group from advancing into the southern part of Valoria.
No matter what, the more he didn't want the Wilson Group to succeed, the more she wanted to prove herself.
She said, "Find someone to investigate the underlying issues of the Crystal Cove land, and also, find out the bottom price offered by the Brown Group. By any means necessary, acquire this land before the Brown Group."
With Thomas's legal team, she didn't need to worry about what was coming after.
Everything would be resolved.
Isabella had an idea in her mind, and when she gave the order, she exuded a powerful and convincing aura.
Her confidence came not only from her own judgment but also from her several omnipotent uncles.
She had just walked out of the conference room.
Isabella saw several missed calls from Aiden on her phone.
She felt a bit guilty.
Aiden was getting old and not in good health. The big fuss over her divorce from Michael would definitely make Aiden very sad.
Isabella thought about it and decided to buy some things and visit Aiden in the evening.
Aiden had always been kind to her, and she couldn't ignore that.
As for the others, she would just pretend not to see them.
In the evening, Isabella stood outside the gate of the Brown Villa with a fruit gift box. Her raised hand slowly fell back down.
A few days ago, she had been so decisive in front of the reporters.
But when it came to facing Michael, her aura disappeared instantly.
Michael had always opposed her.
"Mrs. Brown! Come in quickly!" Sophia Thompson, who was carrying groceries, saw Isabella and her eyes lit up.
In the three years since Isabella married into the family, she had never shown the bad temper rumored outside and was never harsh to the servants. She was also very filial to Aiden.
Even when Stella deliberately ordered her around every day, she never complained and never asked the servants for help.
She always did things quietly by herself.
In the end, it was Michael who was too much. Not only did he not come home often, but he also entangled with Bianca outside, angering Isabella.
Anyone would find it hard to endure.
"Sophia, is Michael home?" Isabella asked softly.
Seeing the nervousness on Isabella's face, Sophia patted her, "Don't worry, Mr. Michael Brown is not home. It seems something happened at the company, and Mr. Michael Brown hasn't been back for a long time. Mrs. Brown, you came back this time to visit Mr. Aiden Brown, right?"
Isabella nodded.
Sophia smiled and led Isabella inside.
As they walked, they talked about Aiden's recent condition. "Let's go in quickly. Mr. Aiden Brown has been thinking about you these past few days. I heard that you are officially filing for divorce from Mr. Michael Brown, and he has been so worried that he can't eat. The doctor just came by this morning."
Stella was sitting in the hall, fiddling with her freshly done nails, when she saw Isabella following Sophia inside.
Her face immediately turned displeased. "Sophia, how can you bring anyone in as you please!"
Sophia, who was responsible for Aiden's meals, was not under Stella's authority and naturally wasn't afraid of her. "Mrs. Stella Brown, what do you mean by that? She hasn't divorced Mr. Brown yet. This house is still open to her whenever she wants to come in. Besides, Mr. Brown wants to see her the most right now. If you upset Mr. Brown, I wonder if you can bear the responsibility, Mrs. Stella Brown."
Stella was furious, but her momentum dropped immediately when it came to Aiden.
Everyone knew that Aiden was so worried about their divorce that his heart couldn't take it, and the doctor had been called.
Sophia turned to Isabella and said, "Mr. Brown is resting in his room. You can go straight there. If anyone dares to stop you, Mr. Brown won't let them off."
"Sophia, don't think you can shout at me just because Mr. Brown supports you!" Stella was livid, pointing at Sophia with a red face. "No matter what, you're just a servant. I'm the mistress of this house. What right do you have to defy me?"
But Sophia didn't respond to her at all and went into the kitchen with her things.
Stella's anger then focused entirely on Isabella. "I thought it was someone else. Weren't you quite tough when you walked out of this house? Why you're back so soon, lowering yourself?"
The news of Isabella calling for a divorce from Michael had spread like wildfire online.
Seeing her now made Stella even angrier. "Michael doesn't want you, and now you dare to smear the Brown Family online? A bumpkin like you isn't even worthy of being Michael's wife!"
Stella's actions didn't mean much to Isabella.
She didn't have the energy to waste time with her.
In a calm tone, she said, "Have you finished? If so, I'm leaving."
Stella was so angry that her fingertips were trembling.
Seeing Isabella walking towards the backyard without a care, Stella was burning with rage and raised her hand to hit her. "How dare you come here? There's no place for you here. Get out!"
Before her hand could touch Isabella, Isabella grabbed Stella's wrist.
Stella's eyes widened, and she tried to pull back, but Isabella's grip was so strong that it changed her expression in pain.
"I don't want to waste time on someone like you. If you want to get physical, I don't mind showing you what a real beating feels like!" With that, Isabella released her, and Stella staggered back, almost falling.
"You... you uncultured woman, you're a lunatic!" Unable to win physically, Stella resorted to cursing Isabella.
Isabella gave her a cold look, and Stella immediately shrank back. With no one else in the hall, if Isabella started a fight, she would really be left with nothing but a beating.
"Just you wait. When Michael comes back, I'll make sure you pay for this!" Stella clutched her wrist and quickly ran upstairs.
Isabella turned and went to the backyard. For the past three years, Stella had always looked down on her, and on the day she filed for divorce, Stella had even invited Bianca and her mother over as guests.
She had long stopped seeing Stella as an elder.
So she wouldn't show Stella any kindness anymore.
