Chapter 480

Michael nodded, "I almost forgot about the cameras I set up earlier. Who knew they'd come in so handy?"

Luckily, he had hidden the cameras well.

Otherwise, with Nolan's cunning, they wouldn't have lasted this long.

Now, he was sure the guy in the surveillance footage was the one who took the documents, putting him in a tough spot. But whether this person was actually Nolan, Michael couldn't be 100% sure.

"Aaron, you're so sure the guy in the footage is Nolan. Got any proof?"

Nolan had kept a low profile for years, all to get back at the Brown family for kicking him out.

Without solid evidence, he would never admit to anything.

On the contrary, it might even tip him off.

"I do have proof."

Aaron enlarged the video on the computer screen. "Mr. Brown, check out the watch on this guy's wrist. Doesn't it look familiar?"

Michael took a closer look. The watch on the guy's wrist did look familiar.

It was the birthday gift Isabella had given Nolan.

But Michael quickly dismissed this thought.

The watch in the footage was worn and old, not the new one Isabella had given recently. It looked like it had been worn for years.

Nolan was sentimental. He wouldn't throw away something he liked, even if it was old.

Michael had never seen Nolan wear any other watch.

And he had seen this particular watch before.

It was the one Isabella had given Nolan a long time ago.

As for the new watch Isabella had given recently, Nolan had said he would keep it safe.

Both watches were from the same series.

Suddenly, a scene flashed in Michael's mind.

The lakeside villa, where Bianca had tried to drug him. There was a similar watch in the glass cabinet in the second-floor bedroom.

He had found it familiar but couldn't remember where he had seen it before.

Now everything seemed to make sense.

The watch in the villa was the same one Nolan was wearing.

So, the villa wasn't Bianca's; it was Nolan's.

At the time, he was focused on uncovering Bianca's hidden identity and the Adri family's intentions, so he agreed to go to the lakeside villa.

But no one expected his grandfather and Isabella to show up suddenly and see him with Bianca.

He didn't even have time to explain before Isabella deeply misunderstood him.

After that misunderstanding, his relationship with Isabella was never the same.

Michael connected all the dots, and the evidence became clear.

When Bianca returned to the country with Nolan under the alias Violet, Michael had found it strange.

Now, thinking back, they might have joined the Adri family long ago, but with different motives.

Bianca returned for revenge, while Nolan wanted control of the Brown Group.

They had teamed up to serve the Adri family.

Ultimately, the real beneficiary was the mastermind behind it all.

The Adri family had indeed played a long game.

They had targeted everyone close to him from the start.

One Bianca wasn't enough; there was also Nolan, who could replace Michael.

By teaming up with Nolan, the Adri family was hell-bent on taking down the Brown Group.

But Michael wasn't about to let that happen.

He wouldn't let the Adri family take over the Brown Group or the Wilson family.

"Mr. Brown?"

Aaron noticed Michael's face darken as he stared at the screen and called out softly.

"Now that we have the evidence, what's our next move?"

Aaron had his own ideas.

He thought they should take the surveillance footage straight to the company and confront Nolan, forcing him to step down as CEO.

If Nolan refused, they could hand the evidence over to the police.

With the police involved, Nolan's reputation would be ruined.

The board of the Brown Group wouldn't support someone with a tarnished reputation as CEO, and Nolan wouldn't be able to stay in the company.

But Michael had a different plan.

He was thinking beyond the immediate situation.

"We're not in a rush. We can deal with Nolan anytime, but the people behind him haven't surfaced yet."

If they used the surveillance footage to oust Nolan now, it would be the simplest and most effective method.

But it would also alert the Adri family.

As long as the Adri family was around, they posed a significant threat to the Brown Group and the Wilson family.

Michael couldn't rest easy until this ticking time bomb was defused.

He needed to see this mysterious family lose their ability to harm the Brown Group and the Wilson family before he could relax.

With this in mind, he took a deep breath, his eyes filled with determination.

"Aaron, this time we're playing for keeps. The one who holds out the longest wins."

Michael rolled his shoulders, his commanding presence returned-the one everyone knew and feared.

These people thought they could scheme against him? They clearly had a death wish.

Aaron couldn't help but grin at the transformation.

This was the Michael he knew-the one who never backed down from a fight and showed everyone what it meant to be truly formidable.

Thinking about the battles ahead, Aaron felt adrenaline coursing through his veins.

He couldn't wait to see those people get their comeuppance from Michael.

"Mr. Brown, why do you think Nolan, after all this careful planning, is now rushing to return to the company?"

They had the evidence of Nolan's sabotage.

Nolan should be the one worried now, not them.

After all, the evidence proved that the project contract was forged by Nolan, not signed by Michael.

If Nolan couldn't reach an agreement with the government in Auroria or prove the contract invalid, he'd have to deal with the mess himself. He'd have to fulfill the contract terms or face a billion-dollar penalty.

From what Michael had learned in Auroria, the local government officials were all greedy. They wouldn't let go of such a lucrative opportunity easily.

Now, it was Nolan's turn to be in a tough spot.

Michael sneered at Aaron's question.

"He's not rushing; he's seizing the moment. He endured three years abroad. Do you think he's the type to act hastily? The project in Auroria required billions in startup funds. He chose this timing on purpose."
