Chapter 496
"What am I supposed to do now?"
Michael got what Aaron was saying, but actually doing it was a whole different ballgame.
When he turned twenty, his grandpa handed him the company. For the past few years, he'd been all about work and had zero experience with romance.
His marriage to Isabella was also arranged by his grandpa, and he couldn't say no.
Over the years, he'd gotten used to his relationship with Isabella.
Plus, he'd never chased anyone before.
The idea of learning dating techniques left him totally lost. He didn't even know where to start.
"Mr. Brown, if you want Isabella to change her mind, you need to be crystal clear about your intentions. No matter what she says or does, you have to convince her that your feelings are genuine-no hidden agenda."
"And you've got to be completely convincing. Isabella has already endured too much of your hot-and-cold behavior. You can't give her any more reason to feel insecure about where she stands with you."
Aaron was guiding Michael step by step on how to turn the situation around.
A guy who hesitated with a woman he was interested in rarely won her over. Aaron knew this all too well.
"Will this really work?"
Michael pressed his lips together. He wasn't entirely sold on these strategies, but Aaron had more experience in this area.
He didn't have any other options.
Might as well give it a shot.
Seeing Michael's determined expression, Aaron shook his head helplessly and picked up a tablet from the table. He found the most popular romance movie and handed it to Michael.
For someone like Michael, who had no experience in love, a few words of advice wouldn't be enough to win her back.
Since he didn't know how to woo a woman, he might as well start from scratch. Otherwise, he might scare Isabella away for good.
"What's this?"
Michael took the tablet and saw the title: "A Sweet Love Story!"
He couldn't help but twitch his lips.
He didn't want to watch such a cheesy romance movie, but just as he was about to put it down, Aaron warned him.
"Mr. Brown, have you already forgotten what you just agreed to? You're giving up before you even start. Don't you want to win Isabella back?"
Michael was at a loss for words.
Fine.
He clicked on the first scene, where the male and female leads met. It was painfully contrived, but for the sake of winning back his wife, Michael gritted his teeth and kept watching.
Aaron supervised from the side, occasionally offering pointers and sharing his own experiences with confessing love.
He felt quite proud of himself.
Luckily, he and Renee had reconciled. If he hadn't been so persistent in getting on that plane back to Auroria with Renee, he might have ended up like Michael.
Or even worse.
Thinking about it, he felt incredibly grateful for Renee's soft heart. Once he recovered, he would make it up to her a hundredfold.
Meanwhile, at the Wilson house.
Renee, sitting on the couch, shivered for no reason and instinctively pulled her coat tighter.
Olivia, sitting across from her, thought she might be sick.
Olivia quickly poured her a glass of water. "Renee, are you okay? Did taking care of Aaron wear you out?"
"No, I'm not sick."
Renee shook her head. "I probably just caught a chill on the way back. It's nothing serious, don't worry about me."
She had to go back to the hospital tomorrow to continue taking care of Aaron. She couldn't afford to get sick.
The Adri Family wouldn't let things go easily.
She didn't trust anyone else to take care of Aaron.
"You're really putting Aaron's well-being above your own, aren't you?"
Olivia looked at her with concern. In just a few days, Renee had visibly lost weight.
Isabella had wanted Renee to come home and rest. They could have sent someone from the Wilson Family or hired a reliable nurse to take care of Aaron.
But Renee insisted on staying by Aaron's side.
They couldn't change her mind, so they had to let her be.
But seeing her so worn out, both Olivia and Isabella felt a pang of sympathy.
"Olivia, I know you and Isabella mean well. I'm really fine."
Renee patted Olivia's hand, reassuring her.
She could handle it. If she ever felt too unwell, she wouldn't push herself.
"Where's Isabella? Why isn't she home?"
Renee hadn't seen Isabella since she got back, even though Isabella had left the hospital before her.
"Isabella? She went..."
Before Olivia could finish, a familiar figure appeared on the stairs. It was Isabella, the very person they were talking about.
Olivia gave her a knowing look and turned to Renee. "There she is."
Isabella had been in her room for a while. When she came downstairs and saw Olivia and Renee talking, they fell silent.
She smiled and asked, "What's going on? What were you talking about that you can't say in front of me?"
"Nothing like that. Renee was feeling cold, and I was worried she might be overexerting herself taking care of Aaron."
Olivia moved over to make room for Isabella.
Isabella glanced at Renee and said, "Olivia's right. You can't neglect your own health while taking care of Aaron. We care about you too."
Renee was touched. She squeezed Isabella's hand and said, "I know. Don't worry, I'm home to rest now. Someone else is taking care of Aaron."
"Who? A nurse?"
Olivia asked casually.
Given the dangerous journey back from abroad, Renee hadn't trusted anyone else to take care of Aaron. It was surprising that she was now willing to leave him in someone else's care.
Isabella had the same question. Considering the Adri Family was their opponent, Renee's caution was understandable.
But tonight, she had left Aaron alone at the hospital, which was unusual.
Isabella asked, "Should I send someone from the Wilson Family to protect him?"
Renee immediately refused. "No need! Someone is with Aaron. He's perfectly safe. No one would dare touch him."
Olivia and Isabella exchanged curious glances.
When had Aaron found such a powerful ally in Evergreen City that even Renee trusted him completely?
"Renee, who is this person? Are you sure they're not trying to take advantage of you?"
Seeing their misunderstanding, Renee sighed.
She explained, "It's Michael, Isabella's ex-husband. He insisted on staying with Aaron to chat, so I came home. And Aaron was very cooperative. They practically kicked me out."
