Chapter 50

He was the one who didn't want to get married at first, and for three years after the wedding, he ignored her and treated her coldly.

Even when she put aside all her pride to please him, she couldn't get a shred of warmth from him.

Now she had figured it out.

She wouldn't go back.

Michael's eyes were deep, "Then what are you doing here, lying in our marital bed? Didn't you say everything here has nothing to do with you?"

He questioned her hoarsely, propping himself up to loom over her.

His gaze swept over her, almost imperceptibly.

Isabella sensed unease, wriggling to escape, but in doing so, she repeatedly teased Michael's fraying nerves.

They were very close, and she was only wearing a thin, gauzy nightgown.

Michael's eyes turned red with restraint.

Isabella, however, was unaware. "Michael, don't overthink it. I'm just here to visit Aiden. It has nothing to do with you."

"Really? Then prove to me that you don't feel anything for me!" Michael grabbed her chin and kissed her hard.

He didn't believe Isabella had no feelings for him at all. Otherwise, she wouldn't have stayed in this house for three years and cared for him so attentively.

He even missed the Isabella from before she talked about divorce.

Back then, she would make him delicious food and have hot water ready for his bath before he got home from work.

But the current Isabella gave him the feeling that she could leave him at any moment.

No matter what he did, he couldn't keep her.

Michael's kiss grew deeper and more domineering. When his large hand slipped under her dress, Isabella bit his lip hard and kicked him off the bed.

"Michael, I'm not your wife anymore. If you touch me again, I'll call the police and accuse you of sexual assault!" Isabella wiped her lips harshly with the back of her hand. "And stay away from me. Just seeing you makes me sick!"

Isabella's words made Michael's desire die down.

His face turned dark. "Isabella, don't regret this."

With that, he grabbed his coat and slammed the door on his way out.

Isabella, lying in bed, was wide awake, glaring at the door with gritted teeth.

She wouldn't regret it. She only regretted not checking his whereabouts before coming, ending up running into him in bed.

The next day.

Isabella got up early to help Sophia prepare desserts for Aiden.

Aiden had been eating less lately, but seeing Isabella's effort, he ate some more dessert and felt much better.

Isabella accompanied him for a walk in the backyard.

The air was great on an early autumn morning, and the garden's various exotic flowers were in full bloom. Isabella and Aiden chatted and laughed, even video-calling Daniel in the hospital.

The three of them talked for quite a while.

As they were about to leave, Isabella's smile vanished when she saw something in the distance.

Michael and Bianca were walking side by side toward the garden.

Michael had arranged for Indigo's family to stay in an apartment under his name. Harper had brought Bianca over early in the morning to thank him, but more importantly, to see Michael.

"Michael, I don't mean to speak ill of Isabella, but she went too far this time. She kicked our whole family out and exposed us online." Bianca wiped her tears. "She even wants to drive us out of Evergreen City."

"She's just talking." Michael didn't think Isabella had that kind of power.

Bianca felt indignant, sensing that Michael was always siding with Isabella. "But why does Isabella have to be so ruthless? I've already been very accommodating to her, yet she still wants to make things difficult for me."

Michael always thought Thomas had given Isabella the confidence to divorce.

Although Thomas was part of the Wilson Family, he wasn't the heir to the Wilson Group.

Thomas was currently busy with his own company and had his hands full, but the heir to the Wilson Group was giving him a headache.

He was preparing to acquire the Crystal Cove resort.

But the Wilson Group had suddenly shown interest in the project as well.

As far as he knew, the Wilson Group had just resolved its financial issues, yet they dared to compete with the Brown Group for a project. This mysterious heir was quite ambitious.

He wanted to see for himself what she was up to.

"Aiden, the doctor is coming soon. Let Sophia take you back to your room. I want to walk around a bit more and will join you shortly." Seeing the two approaching, Isabella deliberately stood in front of Aiden to block his view.

Aiden was determined to have her return to the Brown Family. If he saw the two of them walking closely together, he would be furious.

Fortunately, Aiden didn't think much of it. He smiled and nodded, telling Isabella to stay a bit longer and relax.

After Sophia took Aiden away, Isabella also planned to leave, not wanting any interaction with the two.

But as she turned, she ran into Stella and Harper.

Behind them were Michael and Bianca, and she didn't want to see either group.

At that moment, she felt the Brown Family's backyard was too small.

"You say you're not trying to get back into the Brown Family, yet you're still here the next day, shamelessly waiting for Michael to come back, aren't you?" Stella got angry at the sight of Isabella.

She was ready to settle yesterday's score.

Harper hated Isabella even more. No matter how nice Michael's apartment was, it wasn't her house.

Knowing that the house Isabella had taken was now worth millions of dollars, Harper felt like her heart was bleeding.

Harper said, "Isabella, your father and I raised you for so many years. Not only did you not help us, but you also took our house. You're just as bad as your mother, doing all sorts of evil. You'll get your comeuppance sooner or later!"

Isabella had planned to avoid these annoying people.

She didn't expect them to come looking for a fight.

Did they think she would be scared just because there were more of them?

One or two made no difference to her.

"Harper, you'd better watch your mouth. Don't say anything you can't take back. What right do you have to mention my mother? If anyone's going to get their comeuppance, it'll be you first. You should go to hell!" Isabella cursed with satisfaction.

Michael and Bianca heard the commotion and walked over.

Seeing a group of people she didn't want to see, Isabella cracked her neck. "Fine, let's get this over with. Come at me all at once. Let's see what you've got!"

She had no reason to hold back against a bunch of scumbags.

"Michael, look at her. She has no manners at all, not even sparing my mom. How can she be like this?" Bianca pulled Michael over, trying to show him Isabella's true colors.

Isabella sneered. "What, are you in a hurry because it's not your turn yet? Your family lived in my mom's house for over a decade. The three of you together don't have a single brain cell. You should be grateful that I'm just telling you to get lost. And wipe that disgusting look off your face. You go online calling others mistresses and boyfriend-stealers. Aren't you the one actually seducing someone else's husband?"

Isabella easily traded insults with them.
