Chapter 510
In the room next door, Nolan stared at the flashing number on his phone, a smug smile playing on his lips.
The call was from Atticus.
Nolan had no intention of answering it; he simply watched as the call went to voicemail.
He couldn't help but wonder what the reaction would be the next time he met with the Wilson family if he showed up as Isabella's fiancé.
Regardless of their approval, tonight he would have Isabella.
Ideally, he would get her pregnant.
That way, Isabella would never be able to leave him and would have to agree to marry him. From then on, he would not only have the woman he loved and their child but also the full support of the Wilson family.
This was his best strategy to break the current deadlock.
By securing Isabella, he would secure the entire Wilson family.
Even if the Brown Group was slowly being devoured by the Adri family, with the resources from the Wilson family, he would never fall.
He had worked too hard to gain his power to give it up so easily.
So, he had to set his sights on Isabella, who also had a claim to her family's legacy.
Besides, he had secretly loved Isabella for years. Back then, he had no power or influence and could only watch as she married Michael. But now he was back, sitting at the helm of the Brown Group.
Isabella had divorced Michael at this time. Wasn't this fate giving him a chance?
They were meant to be together.
Only he could give Isabella the love she wanted, and the Wilson family's strength and resources were exactly what he needed. Their union would be perfect.
So, how could he let this opportunity slip away?
He had to have Isabella.
The thought of finally having the woman he loved made Nolan's heart race with excitement.
This time, he didn't bother pretending to be disabled. He stood up from his wheelchair and strode confidently to the room where Isabella was.
Seeing Nolan walk towards her like a normal person, Isabella's eyes flashed with resentment.
Of course.
Nolan no longer needed to hide his true self, so there was no need to pretend to be disabled.
From the moment he lured her out and drugged her, their friendship was over.
Thinking of this, Isabella's expression grew colder.
"Nolan, what exactly do you want? Do you think tying me up will get you everything you want? I'm telling you, you're dreaming!"
Nolan didn't care about Isabella's hostility and disgust. Soon, she would be his, and no matter how unwilling she was, she would have to become his.
Why should he care about a few harsh words now?
Nolan sat on the edge of the bed, gently caressing Isabella's face, his eyes filled with a deep affection that could drown a person.
"Isabella, why are you still so disobedient? You know how much I like you. If you would just accept me, I wouldn't have to do things that make you unhappy. You have no idea how much I loved that innocent, adorable you. Why did you have to change? I've only taken what was rightfully mine. Shouldn't you be happy for me?"
His fingers slid down to her chin, forcing her to look at him. He still looked like the Nolan she used to know, but Isabella felt a wave of nausea.
She used to find warmth in his face, which resembled Michael's by about seventy or eighty percent.
She thought she had a caring, protective brother.
But when Nolan finally revealed his true self, Isabella realized he had never changed. She had been too blinded by his act to see the darkness that had always lived inside him.
His gentleness and care were just masks to deceive others.
In reality, his scheming and cunning were deeper than Michael's. She had no idea what he was thinking now or what his next move would be.
He might pull a knife on her next, and everything he did was just to achieve his goals.
So, she had to stay calm.
Nolan was no longer the Nolan she once knew. Provoking him now would do her no good.
"Nolan, you've already got what you wanted. The Brown family's everything is in your hands. What more do you want?"
Isabella couldn't understand why Nolan, having achieved his dream of controlling the Brown Group, would kidnap her at this critical moment. Wasn't he afraid of making an enemy of the Wilson family?
Looking around the unfamiliar room, Isabella couldn't guess where Nolan had taken her.
It didn't look like a hotel. It seemed more like a private place.
It made sense. Nolan wouldn't go through all this trouble to kidnap her and then hide her in a crowded place.
This might be his secret base for conducting shady business.
Escaping under his watchful eye would be difficult.
Nolan saw through her thoughts and chuckled, his large hand caressing her face, gently rubbing it.
"Isabella, I've confessed to you twice. What do you think I want?"
Of course, he wanted to make her his possession.
Ideally, he would get her pregnant this time.
That way, Isabella would never leave him.
"Don't think about escaping. This is my place. No one dares to come in here, and I think it's time our relationship took a step forward."
"Get your hands off me!"
Isabella jerked away in disgust, her eyes narrowing as she caught the unmistakable hunger in his gaze.
How had she not seen before that Nolan harbored such repulsive thoughts?
Nolan grabbed her chin, forcing her into his arms.
"Flinch all you want. Where do you think you can hide from me? This is my territory. Soon enough, you'll be mine too."
Nolan's arrogant words made Isabella feel sick.
But her hands and feet were tied.
Even so, she wouldn't let Nolan have his way easily.
"Let go of me, Nolan! To think you studied abroad for years, and now you'll stop at nothing to get what you want, even drugging and kidnapping a woman?"
If she had known Nolan was this despicable, she would never have supported him, never spoken well of him to Aiden.
No wonder Aiden always fell silent and sighed when she mentioned Nolan.
He had seen through Nolan's deep-seated scheming long ago.
