Chapter 511
"But Isabella, have you ever thought about it? If I didn't do this, how could I ever get you to stay with me? Everything I've done is because I love you too much."
Nolan wasn't angry at all by what Isabella said. On the contrary, he felt that if Isabella hadn't rejected him time and again, he wouldn't have been driven to this point. Nolan had always been someone who didn't care about the process, as long as the end result was what he wanted.
"Isabella, do you know how long I've waited for this moment?" He gazed at the woman in his arms with an almost obsessive look. "Do you remember the first time we met? Out of all those people, you were the only one who walked up to me and spoke. From that moment, I knew I had to have you."
"I've been by your side all these years, but you never saw me. Your eyes were always on Michael, even though he didn't love you. You were still determined to marry him. Why?"
Pain flickered in Nolan's eyes as he gripped Isabella's shoulders, searching her face for answers. "Why does everyone love Michael unconditionally, including you? We're brothers, we look the same, share the same blood, but you only have eyes for him. You never even gave me a second glance. Do you think that's fair, Isabella?"
Nolan's emotions grew more intense, but Isabella no longer felt any sympathy for him. She had once been deceived by his pitiful act, feeling both sympathy and heartache for his past because she had also lost her mother's love. She had thought they shared a similar fate.
But now, she realized that her kindness and understanding had only fueled his greed and relentless pursuit. Isabella couldn't help but retort, "There's no such thing as absolute fairness in this world. Who I like is my own business. Just because I married Michael, do you think you can marry me too?"
She had seen through Nolan's so-called love. He didn't understand what true love was. He wanted her simply because she had chosen Michael, and he couldn't stand it. It was all about his twisted sense of victory.
"Nolan, before things get worse, I advise you to let me go. If the Wilson family finds out I'm missing, you won't be able to escape."
If Atticus and Holden knew that Nolan had drugged and kidnapped her, they would probably want to kill him on the spot. She just wanted to cut ties with Nolan and never have anything to do with him again.
Seeing that Isabella still wouldn't yield, Nolan sighed helplessly. "Isabella, why are you still so naive? Do you think after all I've done, I'd let you go just because of a few words? You should be the one begging, not me. Understand?"
"But don't worry, I'll be gentle tonight. I won't let you feel any pain. After all, I do love you." Nolan's lips curled into a faint smile as he tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. His low voice sent chills down her spine.
Isabella's body tensed up, but she had sent a distress signal to Shadow before coming here. If anything went wrong, he would come to rescue her immediately. By now, Shadow should have already found her location. With his skills, he could easily break in and save her.
She wasn't worried about her safety, but she was concerned about what other tricks Nolan might have up his sleeve. "Nolan, have you thought about the consequences of using such methods to get me?"
Isabella coldly raised her eyes, using the Wilson family name to warn him. "I'm the designated heir of the Wilson Group and the only heiress of the Wilson family. Aren't you afraid my uncles will come after you?"
"Don't forget who my grandfather was. The Wilson family's power runs deeper than you can imagine. You should think carefully about what you're doing to avoid bringing disaster upon yourself."
Nolan knew that well. Daniel was once a feared gambling legend, and his influence was still strong. He had founded the Wilson Group to leave behind a safer legacy for his family. Despite stepping away from his dangerous past, Daniel's reputation and power remained. His followers would still be loyal to the Wilson family.
Nolan understood all this, but he had made up his mind to kidnap Isabella and wasn't afraid of the Wilson family's retaliation. He gently stroked her hand, speaking slowly. "Isabella, do you really think I haven't touched you all this time because I'm afraid of the Wilson family's power?"
Isabella frowned. "If not for that, then what?"
He shook his head, his deep eyes fixed on her. "Because I love you. Only love would make me unwilling to let you suffer any pain. I know you still have feelings for someone else, so I gave you time to accept me. But that doesn't mean I can tolerate you using my love as a reason to despise me."
"Isabella, I've been waiting for you to see my love. But now, I won't wait any longer. I want to have you, truly and completely."
Hearing Nolan's "heartfelt" explanation, Isabella's eyes flashed with mockery. "You think I have to accept your love?"
"Nolan, why can't you admit that you're just a selfish man? The only person you love is yourself. Stop blaming your selfishness on me."
"You say you wouldn't hurt me, but look at what you've done. You drugged me and brought me here. Is this your idea of love?"
Isabella exposed Nolan's lies. Everything was his doing, yet he had the nerve to call it love. He was truly terrifying.
Nolan's expression changed, his voice lowering. "Isabella, you may not believe me, but you shouldn't doubt the bond we've shared for over a decade, nor my love for you!"
