Chapter 58
Isabella's departure, combined with what just happened, had pushed Michael's anger to its peak.
He didn't want to hear any more of Stella's lies disguised as being for his own good.
Nor did he want to hear a single bad word about Isabella from her mouth.
"Mom, Isabella and I will never get divorced. Stay out of our business!" After saying this, Michael hung up on Stella.
He didn't give her a chance to continue defending herself.
On the other end, Stella stared at the abruptly disconnected phone, her heart tightening.
Michael was genuinely angry just now!
But how did he know she was behind this?
Regardless of who told him, she was now more worried about Michael's temper. Once he made up his mind, he never changed it.
Could it be that he would really abandon her, his own mother, for Isabella?
The thought alone scared Stella.
She didn't dare to think further.
After all, Michael was her biological son, and she knew him well enough to know that he meant what he said.
Michael had sent all his subordinates to look for Isabella. Even if he had to turn Evergreen City upside down, he would find her.
This time, he was in the wrong.
He realized his mistake and didn't want Isabella to hurt herself because of his fault.
While Michael was frantically searching all the places she might be, a message suddenly popped up on his phone.
[Queen of Racing reappears at Everpeak Mountain after three years!]
Michael wanted to ignore it, but the familiar figure from that night on Sunset Ridge Highway flashed in his mind.
Given Isabella's current need to vent, could she be there?
Unconsciously, Michael drove to the base of Everpeak Mountain.
It was as if something was guiding him.
Maybe Isabella was really there!
He parked his car in a prominent spot and was immediately surrounded by onlookers as he got out.
Many were stunned at the sight of Michael.
Although most of the people here were rich kids, it was rare to see someone like Michael, dressed in a custom-made suit, with striking looks and a powerful aura.
Many girls blushed just from looking at him, and some bold ones even approached him for his number.
"Hey handsome, want to make a friend?" The girl was dressed provocatively, with a red ribbon tied in her hair, camo paint on her face, and tanned skin. She was a lively and pretty mixed-race girl.
Seeing that Michael didn't respond, she handed him a pen and extended her palm, raising an eyebrow, "Write your number here. Call me after the race."
Bold and uninhibited was the nature of this crowd.
Michael paused for a moment, then wrote down Ethan's number.
Such a good opportunity, he naturally thought of Ethan.
Especially since Ethan was still single.
"My name is Cecilia Thorne. Call me tonight." Cecilia winked at Michael, and a chorus of whistles erupted behind her.
Michael remained unfazed and took the opportunity to ask, "I heard the Queen of Racing is coming tonight. Is that true?"
Hearing that Michael was here for the Queen of Racing, the light in Cecilia's eyes dimmed, but she quickly responded enthusiastically, "Of course it's true. It's estimated that two-thirds of the men here are here for her. Didn't expect a man like you to be here for her too. But she's currently racing, so you should be able to see her soon."
"Thanks!" Michael glanced at the location and started to move.
"Such a pity, but the Queen of Racing isn't someone you can easily get a date with. If she doesn't want you, you can always find me." Cecilia called out from behind.
A few minutes later, the roar of a motorcycle engine echoed as it sped back to the starting point.
All eyes were on the scene.
"Thirteen minutes and twenty seconds, undisputed first place."
"She truly is the Queen of Racing. After three years of absence, she returns undefeated."
The audience erupted in applause.
In the center of the crowd, a tall woman in a black bodysuit dismounted from her motorcycle. Her perfect figure, long legs, and every move captivated the onlookers.
Michael approached, mesmerized by the scene.
That familiar figure, even her walking posture, was identical to Isabella's.
Was she the one who escaped at the final point on Sunset Ridge Highway last time?
Michael strode forward, blocking the woman's path, and threw down a challenge, "I'll race you. If I win, you come with me tonight!"
Not only the woman but also the surrounding spectators were stunned by Michael's bold statement.
Michael's words were audacious.
Everyone knew the Queen of Racing's prowess. Michael's attempt to date her this way seemed misguided.
"So, if I win, you belong to me?" The woman's voice was cold, unlike Isabella's.
"Of course. Do you dare to try?" Michael lowered his gaze, staring intently into her exposed eyes, as if trying to confirm something.
Isabella chuckled softly, her tone mocking, "Sure, but I won't lose to you. Consider this race a lesson in humility. I remember, you were the one who lost to me on Sunset Ridge Highway, right?"
It was really her!
Michael's gaze deepened as he looked at her.
Isabella didn't look at him, instead smiling at the black sports car not far behind him, "So, you're going to race me with that?"
Michael didn't respond, turning to a young racer and tossing him the car keys. "This is yours. Your motorcycle is mine now."
Those who came here were naturally wealthy, but Michael's limited-edition car wasn't something money could easily buy.
Its value far exceeded that of dozens of motorcycles.
The racer happily accepted.
Everyone around was envious. If they had known, they would have brought their best motorcycles.
Michael put on his helmet and exchanged a determined look with Isabella.
Both had a competitive glint in their eyes.
The signal gun was fired.
The two motorcycles shot forward like arrows, leaving only an echo behind.
"Oh my God, he's so fast. I thought he was just trying to get the Queen of Racing's attention, but he really has some skills."
The young man who had just received the luxury car was stunned by the speed of his motorcycle.
He looked incredulous, "Is that really my bike? How did he get that speed? Why am I always last?"
"Shame on you. It just means you're not good enough!" The people around him burst into laughter.
"Place your bets. Who do you think will win?"
"Do you even need to ask? I'm betting on the Queen of Racing. Didn't you hear her say that the guy already lost to her once? He's just trying to save face this time. If he had the skills, he wouldn't have lost."
"Exactly, I'm betting on the Queen of Racing too."
