Chapter 66
Michael didn't take the phone call seriously at all and immediately kissed Isabella.
His domineering presence invaded her mouth completely.
If Isabella hadn't pushed him away forcefully, she might have been swallowed whole by him.
Isabella was surprised when she saw the call was from Indigo.
To prevent Michael from acting out again, she decisively answered, "What do you want?"
"You bastard, is that how you talk to me? Get your ass to Willow Creek Estates and apologize to Bianca!" As soon as Indigo got on the line, he started cursing at Isabella.
His shrill voice was painful to the ears.
Isabella put the phone on the table to avoid dirtying her ears. "My dad's long dead. Who do you think you are, ordering me around? Have you forgotten we cut ties when I moved out?"
The day she left the Taylor Family at seven years old, she had completely severed all familial ties with Indigo in her heart.
If Daniel hadn't found her, she would have been tortured to death by Harper and Bianca.
"You bitch, I'm your father. You think you can just cut ties like that? How dare you curse me? You're ungrateful and will be punished!" Indigo was even more furious when he heard Isabella dare to curse him.
"What a joke. People like you, who never do anything good, live just fine. What do I have to be afraid of? If anyone's going to die, it'll be you, the one who cheated during marriage! Don't call me again. Hearing your voice makes me sick. You relied on women when you were young and now rely on pleasing others as you age. It's embarrassing. You're a useless man who'll end up being coddled by a woman till the end." Isabella fired back without even pausing for breath.
Michael, listening on the side, was impressed by Isabella's sharp tongue. She didn't even flinch while cursing Indigo.
Thinking back, it seemed like the insults Isabella had thrown at him before were mild in comparison.
He didn't know much about Indigo.
But he had heard some things about the Taylor Family.
When Isabella's mother, Grace, passed away, Harper brought Bianca into the Taylor Family the very next day.
Since then, Isabella hadn't had a full meal, and her clothes were no longer as nice, often showing signs of being torn.
At that time, Michael was strictly controlled by Aiden regarding money and had very little. Coincidentally, someone wanted him to be the leader of that area to protect them from outsiders.
That was how the "protection fee" came about. He had planned to use the money to buy Isabella a nice outfit, gloves, and a hat, but the next day, Isabella was gone.
When he went to wait for her outside, Bianca told him Isabella had gone to the countryside and wouldn't be coming back.
Michael didn't know much beyond that, but Indigo's attitude towards Isabella made it clear he was far from a good father.
When Indigo approached him for investment funds, he used Isabella's name.
At the time, Michael thought Isabella liked talking to Aiden so much because she longed for family affection, which moved him to help Indigo that one time.
"Isabella, let me tell you, don't think Grace's death was my fault. She was shameless and got sick with an incurable disease. She brought it on herself!" Irritated by Isabella's words, Indigo yelled hysterically into the phone
Isabella was so speechless that sneered. "Indigo, if you hadn't been keeping a mistress behind my mom's back, she wouldn't have gotten sick from anger. My mom's death was caused by you and Harper!"
Thinking of that scene from years ago, Isabella wished they were dead.
"Don't talk nonsense. Grace's death had nothing to do with me. She cheated first and was caught by me. She died of shame." Indigo seemed proud of this. "So what if I kept a mistress? Grace drove me to it. Who knows if she was fooling around outside and got sick? She deserved to die!"
"Indigo, stop slandering my mom. You cheated and still make excuses. Why don't you say Bianca appeared out of thin air? She's only a year younger than me. By your logic, she's someone else's child!"
The two of them were arguing fiercely over the phone.
"Isabella, it doesn't matter what you say. The fact is, if you hadn't married into the Brown Family, it would have been Bianca. I'm warning you, you'd better divorce Michael and clear up Bianca's situation online. Otherwise, I'll reveal all of Grace's past online. Don't you have a grandfather, Daniel? If you don't listen to me, I'll have someone kill him." Indigo threatened. "Daniel is just an old man from the countryside. I might not even need to do much. Just mentioning Grace might be enough to make him die of a heart attack."
"Indigo, don't go too far!" Isabella's eyes narrowed in anger. Indigo, who had been a coward all his life, was now standing up for Bianca.
He even dared to threaten Daniel. If Indigo knew Daniel's true identity, one look from Daniel would have his subordinates throw Indigo into the sea to feed the fish.
"You better wait at home. You want to threaten me? I'll come to you right now and see what evidence you have." Isabella hung up.
She got up to leave, but Michael grabbed his coat and followed her.
"What are you doing?" Isabella frowned. "Regretting making me sign those papers?"
Michael took her hand. "I'm going with you."
Indigo's family consisted of three people, all unreasonable and aggressive. He didn't want Isabella to suffer.
"This is my business. Why are you coming?" Isabella shook off his hand decisively. "Don't follow me."
Michael was persistent, but Isabella glared at him. "Take one more step, and I'll have divorce papers sent to you. Try me?"
Hearing that, Michael fell silent.
Isabella had found his weak spot and kept using divorce to threaten him.
But he really didn't want to hear that from her again.
He obediently stood still.
"Then I'll wait for your call. Contact me if you need anything." Michael's tone was considerate and gentle.
But Isabella didn't even glance at him. She waved her hand and walked out the door.
She was going to confront Indigo's family, bringing Michael along would be ridiculous.
If he developed feelings for Bianca and sided with them, she would feel extremely disgusted.
Isabella took Michael's car keys, got into his sports car parked outside, and sped off towards Willow Creek Estates where Indigo's family lived.
