Chapter 481
Isabella was over the moon lately because Wilmer's experiment had been a smashing success.
After work, Wilmer swung by Isabella's office, and his hair, which had been a measly 0.04 inches long, had grown to a solid 0.2 inches!
Isabella asked if the hair growth serum could work on a scalp with dead follicles.
"No worries, Mr. Williams. My scalp's follicles were dead before, but this serum brought them back to life," Wilmer reassured Isabella, getting her all excited.
Juliet asked for a sample of the serum.
After Isabella gave the go-ahead, Wilmer handed Juliet a small bottle of the cream. "This should be enough for one application for your dad. Let me know how it goes by tomorrow."
Juliet happily left with the cream. The next day, she excitedly reported back to Wilmer and Isabella that the results were amazing, even reviving dead follicles.
"We need to start mass-producing this stuff and cash in big time!" Isabella said, quickly getting ready for a meeting. But then it hit her-there could be spies from rival families in the company. Unveiling this breakthrough product might be too risky.
Considering this, Isabella called in Carol.
"I'm thinking of setting up a production line for the hair growth cream first. Once it's up and running, we can announce the plan. But in the meantime, I need you to sniff out the spies from the major families quickly," Isabella told Carol seriously.
When Isabella had just taken over as the CEO of the three companies, the lack of manpower was a major issue. So, when dealing with spies from other factions, she had to turn a blind eye because she still needed them to work for her.
Now that Isabella had absorbed the Brown Family's business, manpower was the least of her concerns. For any position that needed filling, she could simply post a job listing and applicants would flood in.
Carol had no qualms about Isabella's request. In fact, she had been preparing for these matters lately. Even if Isabella hadn't mentioned it, she would have raised the issue in upcoming meetings.
"Don't worry, Ms. Taylor, I'll make sure the company is spotless and weed out all those spies," Carol declared with determination. This was her forte.
After getting Carol's assurance, Isabella was highly content and began setting up the production line under Wilmer's guidance.
The spies embedded within the company naturally caught wind of Isabella's plans to set up the production line but were clueless about what she intended to sell.
John lounged on the couch, listening to the reports from his subordinates, his brows furrowed in deep thought.
"Don't tell me you guys haven't found out anything yet?" John looked displeased at the subordinate briefing him.
The subordinate shook his head with a wry smile. "Mr. Williams, we're totally in the dark about what Isabella's planning to sell. We've asked around, but no one has a clue. Even the production line setup is all Isabella's doing."
Bianca, holding a book, curiously asked the subordinate, "Did you check the equipment? Knowing what she bought could give us a clue about what she's planning to make, right?"
The subordinate grumbled internally about Bianca's sharpness. If she could think of that, how could he not?
"Ms. Taylor, we looked into that too. We found out Isabella purchased a wide range of items spanning biotechnology, pharmaceutical technology, mechanical manufacturing, and even chemical engineering, so we can't pinpoint what she's aiming to sell," the subordinate explained with a wry smile.
John contemplated thoughtfully. "Isabella overseeing the production line herself indicates this product is crucial. But her secrecy suggests she's already uncovered spies in the company to prevent leaks."
Bianca nodded in agreement. "If that's the case, it won't be long before Isabella cleans house and gets rid of those spies."
John fully endorsed Bianca's analysis.
"Tell our people to lay low and try to sway other employees in Isabella's company. If our folks get ousted, at least we'll still have spies in place," John instructed his subordinate.
The subordinate nodded. "Understood, Mr. Williams, I'll get on it right away."
"Keep a close watch. I want to crack what Isabella's up to." John gestured, and the subordinate exited.
Bianca asked curiously, "Honey, why are you so fixated on what Isabella's selling?"
John caressed Bianca's silky hair and sighed softly. "Each of the four major families has some hidden aces. No one knows if Paxton has any secrets. I'm not intrigued by Isabella; I'm after the Brown Family's secrets."
Bianca found John's logic sound but then shook her head. She and Jonah were in cahoots now. If the Brown Family did have any secrets, Jonah would have spilled the beans by now.
Since Jonah's escape from the Brown Family, he hadn't contacted Bianca once - suggesting whatever he was looking for either didn't exist, or simply wasn't worth his time.
Lost in thought, Bianca was abruptly brought back by John's voice.
"By the way, dear, are you interested in getting involved in a movie?" John's question caught Bianca off guard.
"A movie? You mean you want me to act?" Bianca's eyes lit up with interest.
But John shook his head. "I just thought you might be bored at home and wanted to find something for you. I was thinking you might like to be an investor. A director approached me recently about a sci-fi film. I see it as an opportunity."
Bianca was intrigued but then recalled something. "The sci-fi film you mentioned isn't the one Ms. Foster mentioned, is it?"
