Chapter 163

Isabella gave Michael a ring to let him know that Mason had caught wind of the news and was definitely going to have John take care of it. She wanted to make sure Michael didn't get the wrong idea.

"Babe, do you really think I'd doubt you? Don't you trust me?" Michael said, rolling his eyes a bit, sounding a tad annoyed.

Isabella laughed and said, "Of course I trust you, but as your wife, I gotta show some concern to keep you calm."

Michael smiled warmly. Isabella's actions showed how much she cared for him.

"Alright, I get it. I won't be jealous of that guy. I know how much you can't stand him! Do you need me to get you some bodyguards? He nearly strangled you last time," Michael said seriously.

Isabella quickly declined. "No worries, the company has hired a whole new security team. They're much better than the old ones, who are now feeling the pressure. Management's considering replacing them. It's kinda funny. I never thought my situation would cause a job crisis for the company's security staff."

Michael just smiled at her words. He had personally picked these guards, and their pay was better than the original guards. Even if the security department's leadership wanted to replace the old guards, the new ones wouldn't agree!

After chatting for a bit, Michael and Isabella hung up.

Meanwhile, over at the Williams Villa, Mason was fuming. As an older guy, he paid little attention to the internet. Consequently, when he finally came across the viral videos of Jasper and Mia in tears, several days had already passed.

Mason was so mad when he first saw the videos that he almost smashed his phone! He knew Isabella well enough to be sure of her innocence; Jasper and Mia's accusations were blatant lies.

"They're hurting their daughter terribly. Charles, I need you to bring Jasper and Mia. I have to make them see what they've done," Mason barked at Charles, gripping his cane tightly.

But Charles didn't follow the order. Instead, he suggested, "Mr. Williams, there are rumors online that Isabella did those things because she has your favor. If you punish Jasper and Mia, it'll just confirm those rumors and make things worse for Isabella's reputation!"

With Charles' advice, Mason slowly calmed down.

"Go get John for me." Mason waved his hand, and Charles immediately went to get John.

John showed up, looking confused. He asked Mason, "Grandpa, what do you need me for?"

Mason handed John the news about Jasper and Mia.

John took a quick look, not showing much reaction since he already knew about it.

"Looks like you're already aware of what's going on with Isabella. This could be your chance," Mason said, eyeing John.

John got the hint. If he helped Isabella out of this mess, it might bring them closer.

But John shook his head. "Grandpa, you know Isabella's too proud. She's turned down all my help and even blocked my number. It's not that I don't want to help; she just won't let me."

Mason slammed his cane on the floor, fuming. "Your idea of 'help' was to strangle her and mess up her marriage? How could you be so foolish?"

John felt annoyed by the scolding but didn't dare to talk back.

Mason took a deep breath and said sternly, "Listen up. Get a PR team and hand it over to Isabella. Let her handle it herself!"

John pouted. "Grandpa, do we really need to go through all this? With our family's influence, we can just call the media and tell them to stop reporting about Isabella."

Before he could finish, Mason whacked him on the backside with his cane.

Mason stood up, pointing his cane at John, his face darkening. "You idiot! Do I need to teach you how to win her heart? The internet never forgets. Even if you use power to stop the media, Isabella will remain culpable in the public eye until the truth is revealed. The best way is to help her uncover the truth!" Mason said angrily.

John rubbed his sore backside and nodded. "Alright, Grandpa, I get it. I'll contact a PR team right away."

John then quickly left the room, running as if afraid Mason would follow and hit him again.

After John left, Mason sat back on the sofa.

'Could I have been wrong? If Isabella's husband is really Michael, how could he see her being slandered and not react? Or does he have other plans?' Mason wondered, gripping his cane, his face clouded with worry. He once again questioned the relationship between Isabella and Michael.

The next day, Isabella arrived at work. As she entered the design department, Odette approached her, arms crossed, with a mocking expression.

"Ms. Taylor, I didn't expect you could actually get John to help you! It seems the rumors in the company were true. You really became our director because you were once John's fiancée!" Odette said, her tone dripping with sarcasm, the jealousy in her eyes almost palpable.

Isabella frowned, realizing her suspicion was correct. John was indeed getting involved in this matter.
